You started off the season with a victory. How do you feel?
MMA: For the longest time, I was craving a victory. I was constantly spiraling downwards so the desire to win was huge. I am really hoping that I will be able to use today’s victory to get rid of my losing streak and go on a winning streak instead.
Alicia: I am glad that we won a hard fought battle and I’m even more glad that MMA could be making a revival (laughs).
You had a lot of advantageous situations for game one but you still ended up losing.
Alicia: I got way too nervous. I know that the right way to play was to play solidly but I got so nervous that I wasn’t really in a place to complain about advantages and disadvantages (laughs).
Were you scheduled to be sent out beforehand?
MMA: I knew that MVP still had the final boss card remaining. (MMA is not saying that he knew that MVP was going to send out DRG. He is saying that MVP still had another player remaining even if he did take out Monster) Personally, I am confident in my TvZ but I was worried about my TvT so I asked Scarlett and Miya for some advice. They both agreed that I should be the one to go out since I had a lot of experience as a final boss card.
Were you anxious about the fact that you kept going back and forth between winning and losing?
MMA: I normally don’t ever get nervous but today I was shivering so much. It was almost like my hands and feet were shaking right after I defeated Monster.
You put on a near flawless performance.
I still think I’m lacking. I am working really hard so that I can return back to my old form. I always reminisce about what it was like to win a championship every night before I go to sleep.
There were no Zergs from AxiomAcer today.
Alicia: It wasn’t intentional. CranK wasn’t in Korea and I was the only remaining Protoss player so Scarlett prepared strictly for ZvZs and Miya was ready to snipe TAiLS. However, things went differently than expected.
A lot of people are wondering as to whether or not Scarlett will get sent out.
MMA: Scarlett is always telling us that she is ready to go at any time. I am predicting that she will be sent out against LG-IM.
Scarlett stated through a private interview that her first time playing HotS was after she arrived in Korea.
MMA: She is excellent. She is especially good at just smoothly teching up to hive and forcing out long macro games. Stephano is really good at mid game but Scarlett is really good at taking things to the late game.
Don’t you have difficulty preparing for GSTL match ups because of your lack of players?
MMA: We have a limited number of players so we’ve been practicing with three of Woongjin Stars’ Zerg players. I want to take this opportunity to thank them.
You will face LG-IM next. That match doesn’t seem like it will be easy for you guys.
MMA: I think it’s going to be a really difficult battle. We got humiliated during the Pre-Season so I want to make sure we use the regular season to put on a different performance.
Anything else you would like to say?
Alicia: I want to grab revenge for Pre-Season no matter what against LG-IM. I want to thank our sponsors John Bain, Genna Bain, Husky, SC2links, and Planetside 2.
MMA: I want to thank the Acer family back in Germany, CEO uwe, Fred Gau, and all our international/domestic fans. I am going to work really hard to make sure I can put on a great performance against LG-IM as well. Lastly, I want to thank John Bain and Genna Bain for the team house in Korea.
