I bought WOL and HOTS (again) like... a month ago for $40 and now we have the complete collection for $60. If I had less passion... oh man you don't even wanna think about how I'd react to this if I had less passion. I'll spoiler it: + Show Spoiler +
cry into a bottle of wine under a desk
But honestly it's good news! I'm gonna pre-order LOTV, because even if all I do is campaign and customs, I bet that it's still a good $40 well-spent.
Does anyone know if the physical copy of LotV will be like WoL's (meaning the DVD actually has the game files on it and you can install the game from the DVD) or like HotS' (meaning the DVD is here just for the LULZ U GOT BAD INTERNET? TOO BAD M8, without the game files on it)?
Terrible that there are different content in "digitial deluxe edition" between LotV and Complete Collections -.- I really want all digital deluxe contents. I didnt buy WoL and HotS deluxe.
Where to buy LotV so I can get a standard hard copy but also get the digital download on release? I don't want to wait 3-5 days after release for Amazon (for example) to ship it before I can play it.
Easy purchase. I'm excited for the campaign. I'm sure Raynor will discover the his love is artificially created by the hive mind who is using his body to make love to Kerrigan. Also fenix is a hybrid.

You can buy digital then get retail, after you redeem the retail you can contact support let them deactivate your original digital key so you can sell it or gift it.
Its a little sad that people want to buy the game for collection purposes more than the game by itself. Personally i wont spend money for a game that is a copy 90% of HotS, but i respect the people who gona do. Anyway is a little surprising the decision of not making LotV f2p, considering the competitive world of games, and the down of population of sc.
Well, after seeing Warlords of Draenor at 60€ i was worried that LotV would cost the same, but the standard 40€ for a stand alone expansion is a good deal, even if i won't play ladder at all.

Good idea. I could gift the key to my dad for Father's Day. xD

I think this campaign will be much less "Holy shit what is going to happen with the over-arching story and the Protoss?!" and more "When do I get to see Fenix?!" Lol

When purchasing from amazon, you get the game on release date. They ship it a day in advance, at least in Germany. It worked fine for wol and hots for me.

You wanna see Fenix, don't even pretend like you don't.
Man this is a really awesome way Blizz is doing this. I wanting to see how much the price drop would have been for the Collectors Edition for everything, but it said I was not eligible as I already own one (HotS). Is anyone else having a problem with that?

Exactly! I'm saying I'll probably be more hyped about Fenix that what is actually happening in the world of StarCraft. Lol.

It is a steal and just finished downloading. Now I get to play the beta and join in the bitching about - well everything
I'm sure that Blizzard wouldn't want you being any other way. The beta's the time to fix/patch/re-do stuff so that the game's in excellent shape for a random release.
I wonder if they are going to be announcing a release date soon then? Incontrol is at Blizzard HQ, I imagine to play some campaign missions, unlikely they would bring him all the way down there just for multiplayer feedback. The pre-orders now being available.

Soon hopefully.
The game's announced when Blizzard feels ready, and I don't know if they'll feel ready until Q4 2015 just with them also wanting a "long beta" and everything. Fingers crossed for a shorter beta than they anticipated in wanting.
Time to finally get my Lost Vikings achievement so I can have 100% on both campaign release. Someone invent a hack for me so I'm not wasting countless hours on that game lol.

Nope. I posted on the previous page that according to Blizzard, these missions will be available to everyone, but pre-ordering you gets access to it sooner.
This is great news. Ok I had to edit my post because further down people cleared up the confusion. Apparently you get Whispers of Oblivion Prologue missions as soon as you preorder, not at some point down the line soon TM.

Lol. I'd totally take that trade. HoTS achievements take much less time.
Could I please get a modnote explaining that the pre-release missions, according to Blizzard, will be available for all players, but you get them sooner if you pre-order? It's the last post on page 2. I figure that it'd clear up some confusion.

how can I play ladder on B.net ? It puts to me HOTS by default !
i figured LotV would be $60 USD because its a stand alone product.
they did this giant long beta and are only asking $40 USD, and its not an expansion that requires a different purchase.... ATVI is going to make fuck all on this. this makes it even easier for them to push aside Starcraft and RTS like it doesn't exist.
if the retail box copy is also $40 USD then just wow. my how the RTS genre has fallen. u get onto the ladder and a campaign for just $40.

What else is there that you would want besides a ladder and a campaign from an RTS?
my point is that they are giving away the farm for $40. i want the game to make a tonne of cash so that Blizzard will keep making AAA level titles in the RTS genre.

It's still an expansion, to a 5+ years old game as well (will be closer to 6 if they won't release it until next year). I know it's Blizzard and stuff, but even 40$ is too much for that. Graphics is dated, engine itself is terrible (jokes on Blizz for using it for their moba too). Would consider buying it for 20$ maybe, although I have no interested in playing ladder/mp anymore.
So yeah, only interested in campaign and HS cardback so far. Probably won't buy it at all.

LOTV is still standalone, right? I probably can convince some people to start playing again (including myself)!
Edit: Read the thread, question answered. Not sure if I'll get back into ladder again though. I got burned out after playing from WOL beta to just before HOTS.
On July 16 2015 05:00 Velitation wrote: LOTV is still standalone, right? I probably can convince some people to start playing again (including myself)!
I believe so, otherwise they might change the price, and get a nonzero amount of people upset - having to buy a ton of previous expansions is annoying. I think that's why WoW is now base game + most recent expansion.

Me too, I have now bought both 3 times. Expensive times for a SC collector..
Life's hard. Ah well at least there isn't a paytowin option in SC...
I hope they don't start selling portraits or stupid shit like that...
I hope they do. Portraits are a great thing to sell because they do absolutely nothing other than give you a cool avatar in chat menus and maybe intimidate weak-willed opponents. And if they implemented microtransactions with portraits or something, maybe even dropping the price a bit, they'd continue to see revenue coming in long after release, similar to Hearthstone.
I never bought any League skins because fuck that game, but I've been playing Blizz games for 15 years. I'd gladly buy a few portraits if they gave me the option.
I am not preordering. And I suggest you don't do either. Important stuff - you are still going to have it, just be patient. But by not giving Blizzard money now you send a warning that you might not end up buying their game - even if you know that you will in the end. But if you preorder - it tells them: do whatever you want, you already have my money.

relative to Etherium, Homeworld, CoH2 , Grey Goo, and Rome2 Total War the SC2 engine is a masterpiece. relative to the other video games i play the engine is solid and gets the most out of my hardware relative to other engines. most people i know feel the same way.
most of the guys i know don't have a video card and monitor that supports anything more than the ultra mode of SC2.
On July 16 2015 04:52 TJ31 wrote:\Probably won't buy it at all.
if you want Blizzard to never make another RTS game again the best thing to do is not purchase LotV. Or any of the other old RTS games Blizzard still sells that you do not currently own. This strategy worked great with Microsoft and EA.
If you want the RTS genre to cease to exist the best strat is to spend $0 in the genre...another great strat that has been working flawlessly since 1981.

Seems like you can't purchase the complete deluxe edition even when you only have a standard edition game on your account. Seems like a bug to me, especially since they say this on their buying page:

My prediction is that the game will be released shortly after Blizzcon. That will be the best time for them to get sales and increase the hype. As well since it will be the shopping season.
It certainly seems like they are gearing up the PR machine with all the stuff being released. Incontrol is at Blizzard HQ, I would imagine to play some of the early campaign missions and provide feedback. I'm starting to get hyped for this. Although, I would like to see some more radical changes in the Beta.
bought the CE of WOL, the digital edition of HOTS, but I will not buy this game, let alone preorder it... In 2009 if someone told me I was not going to buy a SC2 game I would've called them crazy. I'll check out streams and youtube to see how this mess of a story unwraps and I'll watch a few games in tournaments here and again to see if they ever manage to get this game fun again.

I haven't played HotS in a while, my invite brought me back!
Does Archon mode already has proper matchmaking/ / ladder? If it does,I could probably convince my usual 2on2 partner to pre-order, so we can finally play the beta as one.
then again, blizzard will probably give out more beta invites anyway, when they've already opened the flood gates via preordering, so I predict that we should probably get into it anyway in a month or two.
Darn, I feel like I might actually pre-order this. It's probably worth the money to play through the campaign and maybe I'll feel like playing the ladder after having quit for 4 years... Although I'm not sure how LotV is looking for Zerg.
I'm gonna wait for more patches and for me to get into the beta before buying this I think. Doesn't make any sense to buy into a game without having played it personally. Hopefully it is a lot more fun than HotS, but only time will tell. Then again I felt like HotS was more fun than WoL...

if the retail box copy is also $40 USD then just wow. my how the RTS genre has fallen. u get onto the ladder and a campaign for just $40.
Even though I think you are trying to troll people you do make good points. It really does not bring anything new to the table. The game play is basically repetitive where you build bases over and over and then attack something.
The graphics are really dated. Compared to other games that have good resolutions, lotv lags behind. I do not think that blizzard will reconsider the price but it is too high. I think 20 to 25 dollars is good for an expansion.

You just defined an entire genre of games- Real Time Strategy. That's the point of the game, not a redundant, boring drawback to it. No one expected SC2:LotV to be a MOBA or FPS.

then again, blizzard will probably give out more beta invites anyway, when they've already opened the flood gates via preordering, so I predict that we should probably get into it anyway in a month or two.
As far as i've seen there is no ranked ladder for any mode yet in beta, but hopefully it will come eventually.
Is the single player part of LotV like Starcraft 1 & WoL (where you play a more traditional starcraft game) or is it more like the single player for Heart of the Swarm?

And every CoD game is you running around faded backgrounds shooting stuff with similar looking guns.
I love SC2 because it doesn't crap out my computer. 4v4's sometimes crap out my college laptop when everyone maxes out, but I don't need amazing graphics on a game where half the units are less than a centimeter tall.

Judging by the intro missions, probably the latter.

Okay, so now it appears I have a definite solution :D (only if you have never purchased collector or digital deluxe editions). You only have to first pre-purchase the standard edition of LotV (40€). Then, you can upgrade to the complete deluxe editions (with all dem goodies) for 40€ more.
"For players who haven’t yet played the first StarCraft II expansion, Heart of the Swarm, it just became a little easier to stage a zerg rush. Starting today, the original StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is no longer required to play Heart of the Swarm—making this the perfect time to catch up on Kerrigan’s story and command a host of additional multiplayer units for all three factions."
I guess this makes it easier for stores to unload what remaining boxes are still sitting on their shelves. A smart and subtle tactic.
I bought two copies (me and wife) just so we can play together. We were playing the custom mod before it hasn't kept up (which makes sense given Blizzard was opening the pre-orders soon).
Also looking forward to archon mode. Unfair advantage I guess since we are in the same room.

Micro but no macro? If i just want to control units and not care about economy, I'd play a different genre.

i think thats arguable though. strategic citybuilding games have been popular for a long time too. it might be true that starcraft fans or RTS fans or game fans want less macro than SC2 requires, it might not be true. but "no one enjoys building supply depots" i think is an oversimplification and perhaps quite an inaccurate one
When I saw this news at first, I was like cool maybe I should get it now for the missions. I further considered the deluxe (for HS and HotS and maybe D3) even though I never bought anything more than the original for WoL and Heart of the Swarm... then I said to myself "whoooa there", and thought it through.
An additional $20 USD for cosmetic stuff is absurd. If they included in-game stuff for the other games like card packs for HS and/or 2 heroes for purchase in HotS then maybe you can justify the $20 USD
Further, if anyone is in Canada like I am and did a rough conversion of $59.99 USD to CAD, you will see it converts to $77.56 CAD. I'm also going to assume taxes have not been factored in, so you would be paying likely close to $90 CAD... am I correct? Once again, that is absurd. $31.99 USD converts to $51.70 CAD just for the game alone... I really don't remember paying that much for Heart of the Swarm

The masses don't want to build a supply depot every x seconds, most of them don't want to play a competitive game solo or control more than 1 unit. Luckily SC2 is not a game aimed at the masses.
No one complaining about the 1$=1€ policy of Blizzard that have been on for some time now? At least Steam got it right and the shopping uses the right conversion rate!

We have an entire genre called MOBA where all you do is control units and base management and attack pushes are done by the computer. But we come here because this is what we enjoy.

Looking at Google's price chart rn, is it because of the whole Greece situation?
Mainly, US economy has been stronger than the rest of the world, the oil boom in the US, and a reduction of US debt.
huh? the price of oil is falling like a rock.. if this iran deal goes through the world wide supply of oil will rise substantially... and the us economy is weak and getting weaker.
I've been on this forum supporting starcraft 2 since the start. Since before the start of SC2. but, I won't be pre-ordering anything. if they make 20 million or more before the game even comes out it really reduces the incentive to improve the game. Who even knows how bad it's gonna be?
With everything they hoped for StarCraft, and as little as it has returned for them, I imagine they could just cut their losses and release any old trash if they make enough.
Please to not reduce the incentive for them to keep improving the game, by giving them money already for it. Please.
in 2010 Frank Pierce, executive producer, promised SC2 was a 10 year esports experiment. so we are getting 5 more years of support beyond our purchase of the final installment of the game.
Blizzard either supports a game for a long, long, long time.. or they cancel it and never release. Blizzard never has orphaned a community... so the likelihood of Blizzard pulling a "fire and forget" is very, very low.
Mike Morhaime would have to get fired for a "fire and forget" scenario to be possible... and he'd have to be replaced by an asshole.

Yea I have to agree, when people shell out $ like this (and for most of their other games) blindly, along with the fact there's no other decent competition out there for RTS', it really does give them less incentive to make their product better. Like how do they have the audacity to value this product at its current price is beyond me
In all honesty this game will still be good as an RTS and miles ahead of other existing RTS', and I'm sure the campaign will be well done and a nice wrap up to the story, but everything else about this game has given me little motivation to want to play for fun or competitively after finishing up the HotS campaign 2 years ago. Stuff like no chat channels and mediocre UI, bad arcade system, and other things that made the e-sport spectator experience not so great the last year easily could have been improved

Well, to all the pre-purchase critics out there, yes, the world sucks. In general, the meager bonuses you get for a digital pre-order probably don't justify paying for something you won't have before 6 months. Under ranked there's the option to do archon mode next to 1v1. I didn't try it out, but if it's not in the game already, it's coming.

Pre-ordering is silly, but in this case we've already been playing sc2 for 5 years and already had an expansion. We know the engine, we know what's up. There's no way i would pre-order anything big again after the disasters that were Diablo 3 and Skyrim but there's not much ambiguity here. There's also not actually any bonus content from pre-ordering aside from beta access (that a quarter of the games population already has by RNG) and early access to some missions that could maybe even have been cheated into and played before the pre-order was even a thing
The elusive select retailers, huh. None of the local stores knew about the beta/missions or had the CE at all. I'd really like to play through the prologue, but I'll just wait. The set seems to be stripped down from the previous ones as well, meh.

I think Collectors' Edition might be released later for a higher price. Like after release date is announced for maximal hype.

Brood War's official servers are still up and running after 17 years and has no signs of shutting down, that alone is levels above the rest of the industry. True, the community has to pick up where BNet lacks but Blizzard games are always somewhat outliers compared to the rest of the industry where even community support are often out of the picture.
It is not ideal to *YOUR* standards but it does not prevent you to enjoy Brood War by other means. Remember, technically iCCup and Fish are violating Blizzard's intellectual property by providing private Bnet servers. You expect Blizzard to keep providing ideal services that are probably costly for a small community? Sure you can but you also need to learn how a company works. BW was built on old technologies that isn't really up to today's standards and it is unrealistic for Blizzard or any company to do the things you obviously want.
Blizzard supports its games well, it is a industrial wise fact. Also why the hell do NA and EU being weak has ANYTHING to do with Blizzard?
The whole pre-order or not argument is so silly. Just do whatever you'd like. Who cares if people share your feelings. Feel like sticking it to the man, angry with blizzard, trying to make a statement, unhappy with the price, then don't pre-order.
Here's what it comes down to: Do you want to play prologue missions right now or have access to the beta and play LoTV right now? Then get it. Worried about CE running out at your store location? Preorder it and get that stress out of the way. If you don't care about the aforementioned things then it doesn't matter when you get it.
Bottom line: Get the game if and whenever you want it and don't let posters here push you in any direction then the one you want. I'm in closed beta already, but wanted the missions. So bam, got the missions and won't look back.

Pre-ordering itself is not the devil, it is the mindless falling for marketing hype which further encourages publishers to spit out more pre-order bonus bullshit and rushing games out of the gate that is the problem. We as a hardcore Starcraft community knows what to expect so it is less of a problem here.
I feel like forever indebted to Bilzzard due to the original Starcraft. Even if I play SC2 twice a year I still have to buy this game. FUCK YOU BLIZZARD.

Yeah absolutely. This is an expansion pre-order of a game that we know roughly what to expect, not StarCraft III. I can watch any amount of LOTV I want and know roughly what I'm getting as a finished product. I'm not pre-ordering yet because the only reason I would is to get into the beta, and I'd still rather play some HotS for the time being.
I don't see a reason to pre-order or even order LotV at all. The only positive thing is campaign. Other than that, I'm annoyed at Blizzard's laziness during all these years. Lack of support, just balance patches here and there but that's far from enough to make SC2 big.

This is kind of how I feel, yet I am hoping for the best.

Blizzard never has orphaned a community... so the likelihood of Blizzard pulling a "fire and forget" is very, very low. Mike Morhaime would have to get fired for a "fire and forget" scenario to be possible... and he'd have to be replaced by an asshole.
Indeed we all remember how blizzard supported broodwar, how ladder was taking care of and ofc how strong NA(XD) or EU scene was........ Blizzard shoved a knife on our back in 2010 but that was ok, it didnt made bw community orphan because Blibli was already dead in our heart since 2006.
"Brood War's official servers" aka Blizzard servers were not design for RTS and you cant pull the plug on the number 1 when you're trying to sell number2. Also I dont think they are so costly for BliBli^^. That's why there is no point in shutting down the "Brood War's official servers" My standards are very low but before i give my final opinion they need to finish their game and it's seems to be the irony of the situation. How could they have been able to give us such an amazing game and wasted a lot of what was already build. The interactions in Bw are really good and a lot of them lack in sc2 but that was a choice that seems to be legit at the time. But with LOTV we saw old things come back so...are we stuck in a loop? Please dont remind me that blizzard has legal rights on broddwar, it brings back the memory of how they handled the transition from bw to sc2 grrr... When i was speaking about the "scene", i was not refering to proplayers like now but Lan events, my mistake;)

Good, because based on what I've seen and my experiences in beta, they need to shut up and take my money. Also, I believe that the various screens all suggest that the pricing will be less if you already own WoL, HotS, or collector's editions thereof.

After buying it I updated through the bnet client and logged in. But it was just hots.
Is there a seperate client for beta and bonus missions? If so where I did not see anything
Thanks
If you registered the lotv account with your bnet account, restart the launcher first (log in and out etc). Then once you are logged in to the launcher, go to where you would change your region (i.e. America/EU/KR), and LotV should be accessible from that screen.
To anyone considering the purchase of Legacy of the Void, I would highly discourage it. I have been an avid fan of Starcraft 2 since it's release but, Legacy of the Void has really ruined the game entirely. They nerfed the major counters and practically reversed the game mechanics. There is also the campaign, custom games and the new coop mode. Starcraft isn't entirely about competitive multiplayer, also whether the game is ruined or not is still up for discussion and is probably subjective to personal preference. Back your claims up with evidence or reasoning, or don't hyperbole it up to 11.
Gonna buy it for the campaign, still playing WoL release version more then any other version, praised be the mod extension. Sc2 was so good before everything got nerfed via QQ. Well apart from free units getting upgrades and the Battle Cruiser, who were to overpowered.
Sc2 probably the best designed missions in any rts I know. Sadly the "upgrades" were not taken into consideration when adjusting the difficulty, so if you use those the mission tend to be way to easy. Luckily everything is optional !

Meh he has 1 post and he chose his first post to be super salty and negative I'd just let him stew in his own mess LOL I like how LotV is shaping up and I know blizzard hasn't given up on it yet so I'm highly optimistic
Will there most likely be a name change available once LotV releases? I'm playing under a different name and hope to have the option to change it back in the future.

I'm hoping for Mensk as a specialist hero, who can muster troops and buff minions etc. With a Stukov skin, that changes the mustered troops from Terran to Zerg equivalents!
Bah! The pre-order is only available at the US server Hopefully they allow the pre-order option to be released in Korea before I have to go the military.... I even have all dat dirty esports money prepared! all 100$ for the delux digital 3 game pack edition! sigh...

I... Mengsk.
That'd be awesome. His ult should be called "Regency", it kills his own creeps and deals some damage with a mutiplier based on how many of your own creeps you killed (or something). Yeah!

When they teased Amazon Nova skin, they also showed a Mengsk Raynor skin. Which I was pretty mad about, thats an insult to Raynor T.T .
You can now preorder the physical copies of both standard and collector's edition Legacy of the Void in the german Amazon and Gamestop online stores. It is not known if you'll already get beta-keys / the prologue mission in those stores, so better wait a bit longer.
ive made my decision as i was on the fence but i think i will not be buying lotv. i gotta speak my mind somehow, i'm one of the guys that buys every game of the franchise even if i dont play it because im a fan of it. the only games i did this (not buying in protest) before is gran turismo 6. and spin-offs of fanal fantasy if that counts.
this has little to do with gameplay. i've learned to get used to it and like it, i havnt even played lotv beta though i have it but its not because of gameplay. its blizzard's inability to make the game experience better. such as changeless, repetitive, same-o-shit of the arcade that was the bread and butter of bw. uneventful and boring maps of team games. the least popular feature of bw (ladder) being the primary focus and everything else revolving around it.
but to be really honest, i'll probably buy it on release, just wanted to futilely protest

Again as I previously said, LotV is a product that we have a pretty clear vision and expectation, and the beta has ran long enough for everyone to understand whether the game works or not. Plus it is Blizzard so more likely than not their game work at launch.

I think I'm going to wait until it's ~USD 20. The hype is pretty low for me, I don't think the econ/unit changes justify the current price, and I don't think Blizzard is taking SC2 in the right direction. We'll see...

I don't think there's going to be any problem but Blizzard's not necessarily known for good launches. D3 wasn't THAT long ago and that was certainly a disaster. Either way I'm not paying $40 for this so we'll see.
didn't read the whole thread, but how hard is it to read that everyone get all the protoss mission, be it early or post release purchase ? (been reading 3 pages so far, and the amount of players' fear is astounding) I'm not even sure if I'll buy it, because I've been so fucking bored lately with all those fucking imablanced protoss units and the fact that some of the annoying units are still there doesn't help the case. Worse than that, adept are kinda like zealots but with range and a better dps against light. Seriously blizzard ?... Better change it fast. Sorry to break it for ya but, all the entire franchise is centering about 11. If it wasn't there, you can be sure sc2 would be long gone.
Honestly I'm still here not because the games amazing but because there's nothing else like it. It's more of the same, they've neither will nor resources to make it great. I don't do pre-orders and I've no time for mobas. I think I'll grab it cheap after release, be disappointed with the campaign writing and then move on with my life.

But I guess since everything is digital now the same rule applies to single player games ... Never play on patch day.
I will not preorder and I am not even sure about buying. I used to play SC2 a lot and those were great times but honestly, I don't know if I will be satisfied the LotV, especially at full price.
At this point I believe that SC2 won't change much, give or take another expansions. It will be as it is now and HotS probably is enough to fulfill my need for 2 hours of Starcraft every month.

SC2 never had big launch day server issues even back at WoL launch where there were massive number of players.
No point in pre-ordering, we costumers should let this behavior die. I didnt buy D3 and after that whole auction house thing i am not sure if i should buy another game from blizz. LotV just doesnt look too hot imo.

I pre-ordered around 8 games in last 5 years and I have not regret about any of those games. If you can select proper games you can safely pre-order and nothing bad happens. I will continue with pre-ordering games and I have already ordered the SC2:LotV. I don't care about early access to some missions I would get anyway and I don't care about beta(I have it and it's unplayable anyway), I know the single player will be good and that's all I need. Maybe you genuinely like the games you preordered. Or maybe you just don't want to admit that you wasted your money. We will never know... but the fact is, that people tend to find justification to anything they did in the past, even if it was not the best for them.
I wish we could have a collector's edition pre-order solution to have access to the goodies. I would value that more and would pay the premium over the regular edition but local shops have no option to do this.
Obviously I'm not getting a regular edition pre-ordered now and then buy a CE when it comes out in stores so either wait for the CE or settle for the regular edition. Meh.
Oh and someone suggested get it on Amazon but from my experience, for deliveries in Portugal that is not reliable as local companies in charge of transportation tend to have misplaced items when they transport cool stuff
Yea, so I finally preordered digital version of LotV because I was curious about the prologue missions.
Whispers of Oblivion are seriously disappointing. I really hope the last campaign would be on the level but the prologue is not. Heroes were already strong in WoL, in HotS Kerrigan stepped it as you could just solo missions with her. I hope they won't make heroes in LotV so powerful that normal units would be on "why bother" level.

Heroes being strong? Only the prophecy missions has Heroes on missions with bases and only in the third was Zeratul broken. But I agree with what you are saying overall, I would like to point out that Blizzard just released a new short story introducing a new character that I think has been revealed in one of the trailers, this dude seems super badass, plus I heard that Legacy will have 50 missions? On top of that the 3.0 Campaign UI hits right in the feels. WoO was horribly bad, but recently I've started to garner some hope.

There was mission with Tychus into Odin, solo Odin, hidden mission with Raynor covert ops, mission where all four guys (Jimmy, Tychus, the guy from armory and "scientist" where making underground run). There was mission with either Nova or the Spectre guy. First mission with Jimmy. Maybe s.t. else.
Does anyone know if they pre-purchase the just the game via Blizzard online that there is a possible way to obtain a physical copy of the box from Blizzard or another method? I was going to just order it from my local EB games or Gamestop, but all the midnight launches (Fallout 4 dictating the midnight launches) are far away that it isn't worth my gas and time to drive for them, plus I have work early the next morning. I do want the box though just as a final addition since I have WoL and HotS, but I will pre-purchase at this point now to save the hassle
no , you can not obtain a physical copy once you pre-order directly with Blizzard.
i'm going to buy the physical Collector's Edition when it becomes available from GameShack or IceMan. I'll prolly give the key to someone in my clan. I wouldn't give EBGames $0.01. I kinda feel sorry for the people who work there though.

Maybe s.t. else.
Swann and Stettman.
I'm totally with you, man. I had no intention of playing HotS online, but I would still get it for the campaign as I do with all Blizzard games ever. When I heard how bad the story was, and how shitty the Kerrigan-centric gameplay was, though... that went right out the window. SC is my favorite franchise of my fav game publisher, and I never even bothered to get the expansion. Sad times.
I'm in a different boat now, because I'll get LotV for the multiplayer one way or the other. But I don't have great expectations for the campaign. Even if it isn't easy as hell and focused on gimmicky heroes, I'm expecting it to be all purple prose and zero substance. Hybrids... whooo.... Kerrigan save us....
Preordered it last night. Not that hyped for lotv and am unsure of the direction the game is going but in the end it's just 40 bucks. If it' ends up being disappointing then meh, whatever. I've wasted far far more money on a single drunken night at the clubs.

i'm going to buy the physical Collector's Edition when it becomes available from GameShack or IceMan. I'll prolly give the key to someone in my clan. I wouldn't give EBGames $0.01. I kinda feel sorry for the people who work there though.
What's wrong with EB Games?... other than that sometimes I get bad luck and have to deal with an employee who doesn't seem to enjoy their job there.
Well guess I will get it the same day evening... though it sucks paying $59.99 CAD. I just hope that it won't be a large 10+ GB download installation, despite all the pre-downloads that have been happening as of late
