Note: there will probably be spoilers in this thread!
So now that this tournament is complete, what game, act or moment will you forever remember this tournament by?
I will remember Game 6 of the finals where Thorzain somehow held off Naniwa's all in. I don't know how he did it. Also, everything was on the line as Nani was just one game away from victory. My most memorable moment for sure.
Other great moments: Thorzain defeating MC with Thors, Naniwa's lolgates vs Goody, MVP vs Adelscott, and the whole Thorzain Cinderella story.
I'm a protoss player so I wanted Nani to win, but I also like Thorzain more (been a fan since wc3 days) so I also wanted him to win. So game 7, the second Nani 'GG'd with Day9 screaming at the top of his lungs. It really was a weird mix of happiness and sadness.
Thorzain vs MC on taldarim altar when Thorzain attacked MCs base at the bottom of the map with a kinda small force and MC was engaging with his army. Thorzain cloaked a few ghost, got for several good EMPs and just wrecked MCs army and I was like "HOW DID HE DO THAT?!?!"
What i will remember the most is how briliant Thorzain and Naniwa were holding early attacks in every game. That tention... every unit, every second, every inch counted.... Mindblowing micro... just amaizing!
"Chill get out" Although I think the most memorable part were those last 2-3 battles in game 7, I almost had a heart attack every time they were about to engage, or in game 6 when naniwa was pushing in I was so scared for Thorzain but he managed to defend, I was so impressed great play from both of the players!
What game was nani yelling at chill? I'm going to have watch the vods but anxious to see that lol.
Most memorable for me was Thorzain vs MC on Tal Darim and the Artosis "moment of silence"
Edit: and oh my, how could I forget the "Expand your Horizon" them song. This song will forever be entwined with memories of Thorzain's insanely exciting games.
I have to go with Game 6, too, because I thought it was over when Naniwa attacked, and I was pretty much incoherent when Thorzain finally pushed it back.
Game 7 was really intense though (gj Day9!). Thorzain's push for the win against MC was great. I also really liked the 3rd-place match on Xel'Naga when Kas hit from the back of HasuObs' expo.
Day9 solo casting the last match of the finals after Chill had to bow out was pretty epic. He brought so much energy to the game, with two great players going at it, I could just feel the tension, the build up, and then when the gg eventually happened at the end there was this final sense of climax and resolution.

You pretty much took my top 3 there.
I was screaming so loud when thorzain took game 6, firstly because i was cheering for him slightly more than NaNi, and because we got a game 7 on tal'darim.
Game 5 of thorzain vs MC i was screaming pretty loud as well, hehe. Was such a proud moment as a swede tbh.
And Nanis "lolgates" was just completely baller tbh!
To add something of my own i would probably go for the Thorzain vs Kas game on Crevasse (game 5?). That game was such an insane slug-fest. I would really like to see the units-lost-tab at the end of that game! :D
Fucking insane tournament, thank you so much teamliquid!

What do you mean with 99 proxy gate?
Double gates both on 9 supply
He only went for 1 proxy gate vs hasuobs afaik. Not even sure it was on 9 food? Cruncher went for something like double proxy on 9 food vs naniwa on metalopolis though im pretty sure.
I think my favorite moment was when ThorZaIN won the 5th round against MC. In the previous weeks I had seen many of my favorite players not just beaten, but outplayed and obliterated by MC, and seeing ThorZaIN who went from Zero to Hero in just a few short weeks take the win was incredible.
The final games were also nerdchill inducingly, nailbitingly epic and seeing the underdog take the win once again got me so excited that I actually made an account on teamliquid.net.
ThorZaIN came from nowhere and made me a fan, by proving time and time again that his wins were not just flukes. There can be little doubt that he's one of the best players in SC2 at the moment.
In all honesty, everything I've watched of this entire tournament has held some memorable game or moment - Every game has just been amazing and I'm so glad I chose the TSL over the world championship in hockey. So if I'd go with a cheap answer I'd say the entire tournament. I think it'll live for a long time as the best tournament in sc2 history and will always have a special place in my heart.
More specifically; I'd just say the finals. Best possible final matches, even though the builds weren't really diverse in the sense that we got to see many varietes of units in play-- the level of precision and calm both players played with was just awe inspiring to watch.
Obviously the finals were pretty memorable also game 5 Thorzain vs MC, but my most memorable moment was probably the last game of Kas vs Thorzain. The tank line movement was so tense, as was the moment where I thought Thorzain wasn't going to break Kas' contain (until he crushed it XD), and then that moment whete Thorzains drop did so much damage and you could just see Kas begin to crumble. I think I may go and rewatch that game right now.
Day9's solo casting in game 7 of the Grand Finals was just epic... that whole series was crazy, but the energy he was putting out at the very pinnacle of that series gave me the biggest nerd chills ever.
This has been a very memorable tourney, to say the least.
ThorZaIN getting most of his units forcefielded by the ramp so he could'nt defend his natural in game 6, and then getting Medivacs to drop the units down without Naniwa even noticing and continuing to forcefield the ramp. Such a key moment for the entire series tbh, since ThorZain was able to defend the push with more units than Naniwa expected, which allowed Thorzain to win the match and take the serie to game 7.
unfortunately that really seemed to throw naniwa on tilt his macro had been so good all series and then he was up at 2k minerals shortyl after tha whole ordeal i think he got really agitated.
Obviously its no ones fault but it sucks that that had to happen, gratz to thorzain for keeping his cool.

Well come on look at it from his perspective its game 7 and there is 15k on the line any disturbance like that is unnacceptable no matter whos fault it is.
And it really did throw him on tilt so i would be pissed off if i was him too.

I think he was already starting to tilt and he got so angry because he was so nervous. Just remember that he'd had a 3-1 lead and in a couple of games the starcraft equivilent of a championship point.
Pretty epic for me ^^ Generally the finals had some pretty awesome moments, especially the defence Thorzain pulled off in that 6-gate in game 6, and Nani pulling ever freaking probe in the first game to all-in.
Also from other games:qxc beating Genius with freaking nukes and reapers, the smiley face from Cruncher against Idra,MC vs Thorzain games 4 and 5.
Mondragon Under a lot of pressure From protoss Air en mass
Makes the ultimate counter to Air
Roaches.
Boxer vs Sen was the example of a truely great tvz that all should hope to come too.
Every Series that Thorzain played. He truely looked like a pro and to see him actualy win it all was something I'll never forget.
Also the round of 32 had the best storyline run for the histoy of the world. MC taking care of business like a professional and every other pro korean just dieing. (emperor exception of course)
There are many moments I will never forget about TSL3.
But the biggest one has to be Thorzain vs Fruitdealer.
I remember saying to my-self "Whats with this guy? Hes so methodological, he has everything plan to a tee... He's taking his time, clearing all the creep, scanning all the burrowed banlings. He is playing Perfect..."
I will for ever remember that day, as the day that sc2 discovered T-Zain.
I will remember the finals for being the first time watching a starcraft game made me scream out loud and brought me close to tears. I almost had a heart attack during that attack on game 6 (I am waiting for Day 9 to use it in a Daily on holding off Protoss aggression). I was screaming during game 7, "you need to attack now thorzain! please!!!"
I will remember that moment after Nani GG'd when the thought flashed through my mind that this is the first time that I can remember that the player or team I was rooting for actually won a whole tournament.
I would have to say the best series is a tie between Thorzain vs. MC and Boxer vs. Sen
Thorzain's massive Thor push vs. hallucinated Immortals vs. MC. Even the commentators weren't sure who would win.
Played while both players were in Denmark, so no lag to cloud the Thundergod's victory over the Kratoss Protoss.
Yes, we knew Thorazain was good, and yes, I was a fan already, but that is where I think he crossed from "good player having a good run" to "totally amazing."
Sadly i've been without internet for 1½-2 weeks doing tsl, so there's still some matches I havent watched yet. But I for me I gotta say the whole series between boxer and Sen was truly amazing, probably the best TvZ bo5 I've seen so far in sc2.
The whole Thorzain vs oGsMc series, that's the point where I realised how incredible of a player Thorzain is, especially that game he lost on Tal Darim, beautiful macro and micro, it was so tense and impressive
Adelscott's Forcefield labyrinth at end of game 2 vs. MVP, looking back it doesn't seem as awesome but at the time the nerd chills were out of control :D
The entire tournament was full of epic moments but nothing beats the last minutes of Game 7 in the grand finals. Naniwa and Thorzain gathered up their armies and just had that huge stare down before what you knew would be the deciding battle. That was intense.
Thorzain vs MC on Tal'Darim is one of my favorites, MC fighting off a 3/3 bio army with 0 or 1 armor somehow. Unreal. Thorzain's hold in game 6 is nuts as hell too, totally baffled as to how that happened.
nothing can top NaNi's proxy gates vs GoOdy though. I think thats the most entertaining game I've seen in SC2 overall.
IdrA calling CrunCher a walkover and then losing haha
my favorite moment of this tournament was right at the beginning and it lasted until the end of the finals =D
best game was thorzain vs mc nr4 imo, funniest moment was "" closely followed by "CHILL GET OUT!"
also the day9 nonstopcastuntilheartattack together with the epic final set really got me excited, even more than i already was, had to stand up and could not sit down until gg!

Isn't this terribly common, going 4gate to force an equal reaction then teching fast?
The finals was full of memorable stuff, I can't pick anything - the tension being broken by lag and Naniwa exploding at Chill was pretty amusing though.
game 7 was the most memorable moment by far, the game was sooooooooooooooooooo tense naniwa got way ahead at the start and then messed up and fail attacked, the next 10 minutes they were just sitting there afraid to attack each other, both massing units and nothing else, it was a really really sick game and day9's solo casting non-stop screaming was insane omg ~_~
I'm gonna have to agree with Thorzain vs. MC on Tal'Darim, just a sick, sick match. When those EMPs went off, I felt like bowing in front of my screen.
But there's more: Sen vs. Boxer on Terminus, when Boxer walled-in 2 Marines with a supply depot at the Xel Naga Tower. That was one of those typical Boxer moments and you just know that this guy is an absolute RTS genius. Such a simple move that denies the Zerg vision, yet I've never seen it done before.
Mondragon countering Protoss air with mass Roaches also deserves mentioning. I thought that he was dead for sure in that first game against Zeerax, but he somehow pulled it off. Hats off to one of my favorite players for coming out of nowhere with a new Zerg style.
And of course the finals. There's no single moment that sticks out, it was the series as a whole. You could feel the tension while watching. It seemed as if both of them were scared to engage sometimes, resulting in their control groups dancing around each other, always on the verge of attacking. Just a great conclusion to a fantastic tournament.
Poor Chill i can see this already turning into meme. For me it would be Thorzains great run, and generaly all instances of foreigners eliminating Koreans.
The emotional response that Day9 had when Thorzain completed the comeback. It just shows how damn passionate this guy is for the game. Soooooooooo inspiring and my oh my did he pick up the task of solo casting with style. Day9, you are the MAN.
It's not exactly a TSL3-moment, but I just wanted to share something that in itself probably is not blog-worthy, so I will put it in here. When Thorzain won his TL-Open, I remember my exact thoughts very clearly: "Wow, what a wasted spot in the tournament that could have gone to an actually good player."
With a stunning 8 points in the bracket contest, I am probably also in the lowest 5% of all participants, my foresight is that good.
For the actual torunament, we just couldn't have hoped for a better finals, so that's definitely what stands out for me.
the finals really, amazing players with the amazing come back, with chill's drama lag problems and day9 emotional solo cast, we really couldnt get a better finals.
last moments of adelscot second game vs mvp pretty epic too with chill comentary.
Hm, I really don't get why the "Chill get out" thing is so great??
For me, the "" of Cruncher was the most memorable moment, not the best and most epic, but for sure I will remember this moment when thinking about the TSL 3 in some future
Plus: The incredibly tense last game of the finals where Day9 had to solo cast and, boy oh boy, the absolute BEST casting I have ever witnessed.
easily mondragon vs zeerax on crevasse....i almost shit my pants, thats how worried i was about mondragon.....while beeing under such air pressure with that early 3 bases...and then....then...srlsy MONDI.....this massive, endless ground pressure out of nowhere....geez i started screaming at that point in the game (and i bet zeerax too, but not in a positive way like me) any tsl wouldnt be a real tsl without mondragon
My favorite moment wasn't the "CHILL GET OUT", it was what happened after that. Chill got out.
I mean no offence to Chill, as he is an amazing caster, however Day[9] is better. It has become clear to me that the reason this whole event occurred was because it was possible to make the finals more epic.
The gods of TSL sensed this possibility, and after much thought and discussion, they decided to fill the connection of Chill with lag, and the heart of Naniwa with rage. In doing so, the wise ones had placed upon us near perfect casting, By allowing the more experienced, popular, and knowledgable caster to cast alone, he is no longer diluted, even however slightly he was, by the lesser caster.
The TSL gods had struck a mighty lag upon Chill not only to concentrate the casting abilities more, but to leave a lasting impression of the event. The hype and adrenaline would die down and the results would be interesting, but less so over time. The quote however would burn brightly in our minds! It would forever be known that Naniwa raged at Chill in the final match of the grand finals of the TSL 3, and that is funny!
(Again I mean no offence to Chill I think he did an excellent job casting, but come on, he's being compared to Day[9] here. You kind of automatically lose when you're being compared to Day[9] when it comes to anything, much less casting!)
1) CoL.CrunCher vs EG.IdrA - Watching as CrunCher forcefield surrounds IdrA's entire roach army, wiping it out, and then replying with just "" and watching as IdrA leaves without a single "gg"
2) MC vs ThorZaIN - Easily one of the most epic series in this entire history of StarCraft II. It was surprising that MC even won game 4 considering there were so many moments where you thought "Holy shit, ThorZaIN is such a gosu player!"
3) ThorZaIN vs Kas - The best TvT player in Europe gets wiped out by a nobody, proving that Kas's TvT is not quite so invincible.
4) HasuObs vs Naniwa - Naniwa loses the first game due to bad micro on his blink stalker timing, so what does he do? Completely destroys HasuObs in the next 4 games using just 4 Gate pushes. In fact, it showed how much PvP actually revolved around 4 Gate until 1.3.3.
As I just wrote in the lr-thread, I had an unexpected visit from a friend that wanted to get some books I borrowed from him. I asked him to stay and watch with me even tho he just plays games from time to time(he played SC2 campaign for example, but not multiplayer). At first it was hard for me to explain everything for him, but I soon realized that he even enjoyed it without a deeper understanding of it and he really felt the tension in the last 2 games(mostly due to the 2 awesome casters I guess).
Was a really cool experience for me to share one of my hobbies with someone who did not even really know that programing exists. I missed the lr-thread, but it was totally worth it :p Thank you for that TL =)
I'll have to go with game 6 of the final. The final game of Thorzain vs Kas was great too but Thorzain was playing so much better in that series that I felt it wouldn't matter even if he lost the game.
This TSL was full of memorable moments. All of those mentioned above bring nerd chills but there are a few moments full of so much epicness that literally made my heart pound like crazy:
Thorzain's EPIC defence on game 7, when the colossi deterred his scvs from mining on the natural. It is not mentioned nearly as much as it should. I, who was sitting in my room, was biting my nails and was shouting "DUDE ATTAAAAAAAAAACK!!?!?!?". The food difference was something like 130 - 100 and kept growing (1base vs 2 base) but Thorzain waited patiently until he had enough vikings and ghosts and won the fight quite easily! EPIC!
Also, I felt that the God of clean and honorable play striked with his Failhammer on the Cruncher proxy gates vs Naniwa 1st game. Is it just me who enjoys seeng cheese fail epically??
Last but definately not least, the whole experience of Day9 solo game 7 on the finals. I believe that it was destiny that paid back his devotion to the sc2 scene, who made him solo cast the last game of a most awesome finals series. His passion made an intense situation just mind blowing. I have friends who don't follow the sc2 scene and after watching the last game in awe, they decided to start playing asap!
Great tournament with an even greater finals series. Gj to everyone who took part in making this come true.
Game 4 of MC vs Thorzain.. best TvP in SC2... exciting, nail-biting game. I hadn't been that excited about an SC2 game since fruitdealer's epic GSL run. That game was pure beauty. MC showing he can play macro games just as well as he can perform timing attacks and micro, and thorzain giving a nice show himself. EPIC.
It's tempting to say "the whole of MC vs Thorzain" and just leave it at that. And the end of game 5 was fantastic - and instructive! If the AI sees hallucinated units being summoned, it won't prioritise them? Really? Well...groovy.
Still, the end of game 2 will always hold a special place in my heart, simply because of the absurdity of it all. Thorzain overreacts and makes way too many Vikings. So in the end, what does he do? Why, lands them and stomps them all over the opposition's reinforcements, of course!
God, I'm with everyone else. It's basically impossible to pick a single most memorable moment in TSL3 because there were so many. I think all of mine have been mentioned in this thread already so I won't repeat, but...
Can it be said enough times what an amazing series this was, with an amazing end where literally everything reached an intense climax? I think it cannot.
I can't choose a single one, it really comes down to these 3 though:
a) Thorzain beating MC, I don't think I've been so stunned in a long time. Also as previously mentioned: His EMP's and Thor-play in the last game, oh-my-frikkin-god.
b) Thorzain vs Kas, the last game, that was seriously INTENSE. Also memorable for: "OH MY GOD! THIS IS MADNESS!!!" - Chill
It would have to be the six gate hold by Thorzain on Crossfire. That was SICK! The epic micro to negate the ramp forcefield while holding the front. Epic. Simply Epic. I was peeing my pants.
The whole of the finals was really tense stuff, as people have said, the crucher will be remembered for a while. The best part of TSL 3 was definitely Day9 going in to boss mode to solo cast the final game of the whole tournament.
Best matches: MC vs ThorZain match 4 - i guess longest game on the competition (MC won and make it an even 2-2) Best moments: there are a lot of good moments.. but "Chill get out!" you must love nani .
Everything to be honest. The whole tournament is so well set-up, its had great casting, analyses, and everything went smoothly. There have been upsets and surprises , drama and comebacks. This tournament had everything and its the one tournament that will stay with me for a long time.
To point out how good it was, I denied sex to watch the last game of the finals.
The whole thing was awesome! Cant wait for TSL4!!!
There are a few, but they're all from MC vs Thorzain on Taldarim Altar. When MC hit like a bazillion feedbacks on those ghosts, when Thorzain sneaked behind MCs army with cloaked Ghosts to snipe that Colossus, that whole game was just so tense for such a long time when everybody thought MC had already lost because he was so behind on upgrades. Best TSL3 game/set by far imho. I generally found the MC/Thorzain series much more entertaining than the finals, I found that both Thorzain and Naniwa made a lot of mistakes in those games, which is of course absolutely understandable given what's on the line for them but I enjoyed the MC games more.

totally agree. i'd say regarding complete series:
as for best showcase of skill by two players: MC vs thorzain as for most thrilling: naniwa vs thorzain (of course, finals) as for most impressive/dismantling stomp: MVP vs adelscott OR thorzain vs fruitdealer
Ofcourse thorzain vs kas game 5, i cant help it, i LOVE epic TvTs with tank lines and everything. Close second is the thorzain vs mc game4, with that gosu ghost trick. Third when i realized heck, boxer is still good, not just a legend, he is actually really good.
A lot of memories spring to mind; the , the CHILL GET OUT, the MC Thorzain spellcaster fight with ghosts being fedback only to come back cloaked and emp strike, the epic hero hold by Thorzain in the final...but for me the most memorable will be the series in its entirety between HasuObs and Kas. I think in retrospect there will be more to learn from studying that series than almost any other series in this TSL.
Regardless of anyones personal favorite moment here is a great big thank you to Poker Strategy, Team Liquid, and anyone else involved in creating a tournament that spawned some many memories for us all!!!!
I'll go through this in chronological order. 1.The Koreans and people like Jinro(my personal fav) Idra getting eliminated with the only exception of the emperor and MC.
2. Boxer showing us he still has the stuff and making it an epic epic series against Sen. In fact I was cheering for him to take the whole thing as he is in need of a personal 1v1 championship so bad. So I almost cried when Hasu beat him and was angry for the whole day. :p
3. MC vs Thorzain surpassing the Boxer vs Sen series in all good ways possible. The 4th game imo was the best of theat series as both the guys went for an out an out macro war while displaying their amazing skill simultaneously in the process. And I was like happy that MC won that game just so that we could all see that he was seriously the best toss in the world and that Thorzain loss sort of justified and enhanced the epicness of the series.Thorzain having an ace up his sleeve and wiping out MC.
4. With the first 2 games of the finals....I actually realised looking at Naniwa that there was no other player at that moment who had a better chance of beating Thozain than he did right there and in my eyes he had sort of surpassed MC which made it all the more epic(i was cheering for thozain all the time btw).
5. The games which followed in the finals were like poetry and games 5 and 6 were the highlights for me. The deception in 5 and the miraculous hold in 6 with all the scvs streaming in.
Amazing amzing tourney which further justifies why we all love this game so much and why we all sit together to watch such epicness unfold.
Made quite a wall up there^^ :p Thats how pumped up I am. :D
Oh this is a really hard question... i think the whole ThorZaIN story is quite epic and ofc the long macro games we saw, especially on taldarim (thorzain-mc).

This. I would also add Strelok vs Tyler on Tal'darim, with the baller 20 kill zealot, and the 2-2 gateway units somehow holding off a huge bio push.
The bits where Thorzain proved EMP is over powered vs protoss.....I hope someday i can look back on those games when EMP is changed and thank them for bringing balance to the game i love.
From a best game standpoint i would have to say Thorzain vs MC game 4 on tal darim, was amazing watching MC completely shutting down such an abusive strategy from Thorzain, truly exceptional play that i will remember for a long time.
The entire finals were extremely memorable for me. Since I'm a protoss player, and big fan of Naniwa, I'd say seeing his brilliant stalker micro in Game 4 was the most memorable moment for me.

Er... Naniwa?
Probably 'smart'phone autocorrect or something.
For me Mondragon's Guide To Unit Counters was pretty great. Also the finals, which I watched alone, STILL managed to make me yell out, and leap out of my chair, and almost have a heart attack. I haven't seen Naniwa's "lolgates" against Goody though, which game was that?
I think when Thorzain beat Tyler. I was rooting for Tyler and wondering who this Thorzain kid who beat FD convincingly was. Bit disappointed Tyler didn't move on, but Thorzain got a new fan in me anyways.
The moment that I'll always remember from TSL is from round 1 between ThorZain and Fruitdealer - where ThorZain goes for 2 fast CCs - epic. The commentary just made it so freaking sweet great stuff - and shows there is balls in this game ^^
When NaNiwa gg'd and day[9] started screaming that was the greatest thing ever. That was the moment when it really clicked, "Holy shit, this Cinderella story just came true."
Game 6 when Thorzain barely held off Naniwa. That was soooooo fucking intense, when he finally held out and Nani backed off I screamed like a little girl XD

Haha ya dude? To blizzard, the only abusive strategy he used was in Game 5, and I'm pretty sure he didn't completely shut that down...
I think game 2 on XNC between Jinro and Morrow in the RO32 deserves a special mention. That game was played on such a high lvl from both players and Jinro showed what he is capable of when he truly focus on the game.

that game was really awesome - i agree with your choice
also i really liked mondragons *pff make voidrays as u like ... i stick to roaches and hurt you where the sun dont shine * - shows how good he is in strategic matters
My favourite moment was when Mondragon completely smashed zeerax' Phoenix Voidray opener on Crevasse and subsequently took the series.
Adelscott beating MvP was also one of my favourite moments, the game on XNC was particularly awesome with Adel showing that gateway units are not completely useless against T
For some reason I liked the series of Cruncher vs Idra. I could just feel how mad idra was after the whole FF attack. Plus, I thought cruncher was a cool kid for trolling idra so hard, even though I love idra and his zerg play.
Probably ThorZaIN vs MC on Tal'Darim Altar ("...doing some dropship micro. Actually... cleaning up... OH MY GOD!" "Whaaaaaaaat?"). Rewatched that battle probably 20 times, still awesome.
Ill just post favourite series/games: ThorZain double CC G2 v FruitDealer into denied basetrade AdelSCott v MVP G1 QXC v Genius on Tal'Darim Altar Thorzain v MC whole series And the finals, oh the finals. Especially the game on Terminus RE, where Nani just kept barreling ThorZain, and the G6 epic hold.
Favourite single moment: ThorZain's uberghosts v MC.
Didn't really watch the right bracket for some reason. I tried to watch all I could, so I dunno.

From a best game standpoint i would have to say Thorzain vs MC game 4 on tal darim, was amazing watching MC completely shutting down such an abusive strategy from Thorzain, truly exceptional play that i will remember for a long time.
I guess there can never be a tournament thread without 'balance' whine. Are you implying Thorzain did not deserve to win?

you didn't talk to me, but the thing is: many terrans complain "toss is op" in mid/lategame. and these games have shown what a weapon emp is. ofc thorzain deserves the win.
I think the last 3 games of the finals make the most amazing TSL 3 moment, it was just sick seeing ThorZain going down from 1-3 to winning 4-3 vs an awesome opponent, just amazing games right there.
Maybe not the most memorable, but the most exciting was Game 5 of Boxer vs Sen, where Boxer had the huge position in the middle of the map and Sen came crashing in, but Sen's whole army was obliterated and Boxer was left standing. So good.
Mine was definitely the first game of the finals, when I saw Thorzain pull all of his scv's and set up that unbreakable contain. The moment I saw all of those scv's flooding across the map, I knew that I was in for a spectacular finals.
CHILL GET OUT was pretty funny, I think. But also when Thorzain EMP'd all those immortals versus MC and won a seemingly impossible fight. That was pretty sick.
Thorzain's hold on crossfire was pretty clean. medivac just in time to reinforce through the infinite FF on the ramp. oh yea (i saw highlight of) White ra's defense of his nat vs a zerg with FF etc. was so perfect.
I've only watched the finals so far, I'm DLing all the Zerg vods and I'm sure there are some good things in there as well.
Btw, I know totalbiscuit has been doing a weekly top ten plays video on his YT page, being that there is so many tourneys and exhibitions going on these days I hope someone is actively keeping track of overall great games as well as 'pimp plays'. I'd really like to see some top 20 pimp plays, top 10 games of the year etc. There were some pretty nice ones in GSL May.
for sure "CHILL GET OUT" or the smiley face, sad that its text based on what pr0s said on tense moments. But if I have to say something about the ingame great moves, Boxer EMP's or thorzain cloacks ghosts are really good ones.
Ok, the most bitter - Morrow baneling busting Jinro which, for me, is the exact moment Jinro started his current losing streak. Dun worry Jinro, we all still less than 3 you.
The most lolzy - Idra pwning Cruncher in G2 and then a bitter fall apart in G3 and then Mondragon's response to air vis roaches lol.
The most epic: ok i have 2, Thors and Tyler (oil and water) and then Naniwa's almost defence on Metalopolis into all in - just awesome.
odd moment but i liked Huk getting 4 gated in game 3. pretty good bo3. huk was so dominate in g2 with the crazy immortal/stalker micro in 3 grps vs the blink stalker. Then to see huk get cheesed in the next game was a great reminder how careful you must play and what great advantages cheese can give you.
even though "chill get out", the from cruncher, the whole finals and thorzains EMP vs MC... one of the moments i remember very clearly even though it was in the first round was jinro vs morrow, game 2. Jinro was the hero i wanted to win and in game two it was so epic when Jinro first had an incredible bunker placement, then when he held the banelingbust and lastly when he was about to push and morrow ran in with all his units vs unsieged tanks and Jinro did the most amazing marine-split which was two screens wide.
I will remember Game 6 of the finals where Thorzain somehow held off Naniwa's all in. I don't know how he did it. Also, everything was on the line as Nani was just one game away from victory. My most memorable moment for sure.
I watched every game of TSL3, and this was by far the most memorable moment for me. The casting was top-notch and it kept you on the edge of your seat for what felt like 10 minutes.
I love that the finals were full of so many amazing battles and situations. The TSL is just lucky that way I guess
the highlight videos played before the finals, showing each players games and the casters calls as they showed each amazing play. i dunno. the music, the intensity, the sheer epicness just brought tears to my eyes from the beauty of it.
