At least TLO left after being knocked out, same with Ret, Haypro, etc.
Therefore, should we show sympathy, compassion? No, Sheth shouldn't be shown compassion or sympathy, talent means nothing, we don't admire people with just raw talent, we admire those with raw talent who tries and utilizes that talent, I would much rather support a bronze leaguer with the aspiration to become a pro player who tried til his last drop of blood than Sheth.
I am sure FXO's goals are noble, the whole team are willing to try and make sacrifices to give it their full effort in Korea, even if it may end in vain. Sheth, gives half an effort, still has a chance to progress and wimps out, i don't care what other reasons he has about his uncomfort in Korea, culture-shock, unless his parents are on the verge of death, unless there is so urgent need for him to go back, then to me he's just a mentally fragile player who doesn't deserve the chance he got, what a waste of time and faith of his fans and his team. I was looking forward to seeing him improve in Korea and maybe even have a chance at going into code S, because i am sure he can.
I am going to be straight up honest, maybe he has a lot of insecurities, he is; let's face it... fat, balding with patches of hair gone, etc. But escaping to US ain't going to increase his confidence, i think the best environment would have been to be with his team in Korea, encouraging each other in a team house, working out, practicing hard, improving self and game.
Will Sheth make a name for himself in the future? Maybe in the foreign scene he will have successes here and there, I don't expect any great things for him unless he embrace in dramatic changes. What a chance wasted, what an asshole.

I was wondering why this would get a warning as it was well explained...until i got to the personal insults part. that's not needed, however i do agree with the rest that takes aim at Seth's will to succeed.

You know, I don't think a lot of us would LOVE playing in Korea half way around the world from our family and friends. I know I certainly wouldn't. I wouldn't be able to stand being that far away from the people who are truly important in my life. Especially the living conditions, there is no privacy whatsoever. I applaud Sheth for making this type of decision because it weighed in on HIS PERSONAL life. I think a lot of people are forgetting that here, this is his life, not ours.

While I can commend his character as a person, I can also criticize his character as a professional gamer at the same time. You have to be able to distinquish between the two. I must repeat, Seth is a PROFESSIONAL GAMER!
It's like how one would criticize professional athletes who get paid money and don't produce the desired results. I could care less about Seth's personal life from that perspective, it's all about results. Given his inability to train in the top levels of the game, his results will never improve enough to be the best. That is why I am so disappointed in him from a strictly gamer point of view.

I don't understand the long discussion at all. Sheth wants to be at home because he thinks that it's the best for him. What good would it be if he may achieve more in Korea/Malaysia if he's unhappy?
He's a great player and he'll achieve great things in America and 'm sure we'll see him occasionally visiting tournaments outside of the US whenever his new team sends him

Where's the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO button when you need it...
|
Sounds like a different operating model, but it could work if it truly takes off.
For example Sheth does his own independent thing, but maintains ties with pro-guilds/organizations. It could be a win-win situation but may need someone like Sheth to lead the way.
- "work from home" model, where Sheth practices on his own time, does his own streaming, does by and large his own self-promotion - is commissioned to play in tourneys by(FOR EXAMPLE), groups like say FXO, EG, the list goes on.
If you think about it, it would seriously OWN to be your own man, work your own hours, and yet be called in like an assassin or hero-for-hire come tourney time.
Sheth might be onto something immense here.

this is one of the dumbest, most offensive, ignorant posts i've ever seen.
so who the hell are you exactly to question anyone in the world? that's right, a noone
what does Sheth owe you or anyone else on these forums? that's right, nothing
is it your business why they parted ways? that's right, it isn't
do you know anything about the circumstances? that's right, you don't
your opinion holds absolutely zero significance about questions like who owes sheth anything, what FXO's or Sheth's goals are, how much effort he gives etc. nothing. So what were your motives when you wrote this pile of offensive, speculative, dumb as fuck crap? Just to act like an ass?
and btw, we're all happy to see a picture about your beautiful face here, after you shared your super smart opinion about the very relevant matter of looks.

Barring the personal insults, there was nothing wrong with what he posted. Sheth ditched his team in Korea, got called out on it, and then got the boot from FXO. I'm glad you're blindly defending Sheth by calling other people "nobodies", but people are allowed to criticize his actions. That's why this thread and the one before are still open with hundreds of posts.

he's welcome to have an opinion, and if it's as stupid as it was, i'm welcome to pick it apart.
So what do we know about the whole thing? basically this: Sheth parts with FXO, Sheth didn't go back to Korea, therefore Sheth loses his code A spot, and they parted in a mannered way, noone fucked up the other or anything.
MildSeven's conclusion about this affair is:
- Sheth's weakwilled -Sheth deserves no respect -Sheth doesn't take a good opportunity and therefore he is an ass -he's mentally fragile and doesn't deserve anything -he's fat and balding
seriously dude. seriously. do i need to point out what's idiotic about these conclusions? seriously? i mean ok, if someone's criticised unjustly, defend him or something, but really, this mildseven guy?
people like him think Sheth or any other known personality owes them, they can't have any personal reasons, and he feels cheated if things don't go the way he wanted. do you seriously think these kind of guys' idiotic opinions about being cheated hold any significance or justification, when as far as we know, Sheth could have a little child/ a dying father/an university to attend to/any other reason to stay in the usa? and these were serious reasons, but in truth be it anything, noone but him has anything to do with it... the comments on his looks were probably the only true things in his post, even if offensive and everything, but then we don't see his picture in the thread, and let's admit, most people in existence can be criticized about looks, but it's a thoughtless and douche move
i don't even like Sheth, but this kind of idiocy hurts my eyes, please, don't nod along with it

Until Professional Gamers gets paid millions to provide results, then no, you cannot compare them to professional atheletes on any level. The life of a pro-gamer is not as prestigious as you all make it seem. Yeah, you make some money playing a game, but making enough money to live a comfortable life for the rest of your life is next to impossible. Not many people do it. Out of the millions of people playing Starcraft, only a few can do it.

It's funny to me that people want 'eSports' as an industry to take off outside of Korea (and not through Counterstrike circa 2002) but they get confused when north american / european people try to support their own scenes instead of bandwagoning on Korea. Sheth is following the same path that Day9, Destiny and others are on, and I personally think it's going to pay off for 'eSports at large', which is a lot bigger and more important than who wins Code A next season.
And don't take this as nationalistic/xenophobic either - Korea is great, I love the GSL and so on. It just seems like people are hung up on how koreans 'get good' in team houses and all that. If you can't be proud of somebody like Sheth just because he isn't robotically following everyone else to Korea, I don't know what to say...
Didn't Idra leave Korea after deciding he didn't like the pressure and intensity of being there? And didn't a lot of his fans applaud him for it?

User was warned for this post this is one of the dumbest, most offensive, ignorant posts i've ever seen. so who the hell are you exactly to question anyone in the world? that's right, a noone what does Sheth owe you or anyone else on these forums? that's right, nothing is it your business why they parted ways? that's right, it isn't do you know anything about the circumstances? that's right, you don't your opinion holds absolutely zero significance about questions like who owes sheth anything, what FXO's or Sheth's goals are, how much effort he gives etc. nothing. So what were your motives when you wrote this pile of offensive, speculative, dumb as fuck crap? Just to act like an ass? and btw, we're all happy to see a picture about your beautiful face here, after you shared your super smart opinion about the very relevant matter of looks. How dare people have an opinion! DAMN THIS WORLD!!!

But what everyone is truly thinking is that Sheth is weakwilled, regardless of how good of a player. He lacks the heroic drive to achieve great things, he had successfuly retained a spot in Code A, something that foreign/korean players would kill for regardless of low financial reward. At least TLO left after being knocked out, same with Ret, Haypro, etc.

User was warned for this post I was wondering why this would get a warning as it was well explained...until i got to the personal insults part. that's not needed, however i do agree with the rest that takes aim at Seth's will to succeed.
lol that post was hilarious to read...coz its reasonable, reasonable, reasonable...then BAM insults.....then some more reasonable stuff

I'm not going to blame Sheth because he went to Korea and decided it wasn't for him. Why on earth does that mean he doesn't have the will to succeed? Were people saying this about Idra when he left Korea? It is absolutely not a weakness to recognize that you're uncomfortable somewhere so different from your home.
FXO is looking for a more global approach and Sheth isn't, it's that simple. There are plenty of progamers that have openly said they don't want to go to Korea for a multitude of reasons and I don't see them getting ripped apart. The venom towards someone who has only ever been ridiculously nice is very surprising. GL Sheth!

There were really no insults, he was just stating the truth and then explained it(he implies that sheth lacks confidence because he's fat and balding)
