Then disable Singleplayer. From there they can apply microtransactions to: - missions - decals - portraits - challenges
I think that works best.
So give everyone access to the only thing is SC2 that actually matters? I have multiple friends who bought this game day one, play it daily, and still haven't jumped into any of the campaign, it would make no sense for them to give up the best part of their game for free...

this is great for watching replays on my mac, i wonder how it'll run though.

Q. Can I play a match with other players who have the full game? Can I create a match with a friend?
A. StarCraft II players with a full game license can join a custom game on the trial maps to play with Starter Edition players. Please note that the party system is unavailable to Starter Edition players, so matchmaking will be random and it will not be possible to select specific players to play a match with.
This seems like a really odd choice. Maybe I've read it wrong, but it sounds very difficult to link up with friends using the starter pack.
I'd have thought something like 75% of the starter-pack guys would be sent to it by friends with the full game, and would want to try it primarily with their buddies. Really odd limitation on Blizzard's part; I feel like they've shot themselves in the foot there.
EDIT: Nevermind. I'm wrong.

Suddenly TvT will be everybody's best MU.
On a more serious note though, Does this have to do with that LAN client that has circulated through google?

At least they get some awesome 1v1 maps IMO.

blizzard's way to encourage more terran players, lol

I can only hope cross-region support comes to the game before I buy a ASIA/EU account.

I think that was some sort of crack that allowed you to set up your own server. This is legit.
