They should release the SCII rights after the contract with GOMTV is over. What? What do SC2 rights have to do with anything? Look, the bottom line is Blizz-vision is being greedy ass and trying to harvest all the money they can from an already struggling enterprise like BW and SC2 proscene. Theyre certainly not making it any better.
Except that
A. Blizz lost that lawsuit, so it doesn't affect BW B. WeMadeFOX is a team, not a tournament organizer, so they aren't affected by SC2 broadcast rights.
There were $166k in prize money in the last two weeks, not counting Korea, for SC2, so that scene seems to be okay. And while it's certainly possible that Blizz winning the suit would be bad for BW, they didn't, so it's water under the bridge.
And I'd hardly call BW "struggling" in an objective sense, seeing as they got 21% of males 16-19 watching the highest-rated TV show in the proleague finals. Maybe it's smaller than it was last year and having troubles as a result, but there's a bit of a step between that and a charity case.

Does anybody know what this means for Thorzain and Fenix? Afaik Naniwa isn't staying at the WMF house..

Actually it's the WC3/SC2 team. WC3 is worse off then the BW scene I think, so it's not surprising they started also playing SC2.

For outside Korea, WC3 should be better than BW at the moment. Actually, never was WC3 stronger than BW since its release outside Korea.
Similarly, WC3 was never stronger than BW inside Korea.

Wow- the dissolution of WeMade has been rumored for months and MBC is understandable given the uncertainty of the TV Station, but even Samsung?! Did the netizens hear/speculate about this before or did the news just come out recently?

Yeah, there were some rumours that Samsung was thinking about disbanding before Fox announced their decision, and this article coming out. I'm not sure how accurate and reliable it is though. You know what internet rumours are like.

Man I can't believe I came home to see Fox disbanding.....
and even this
I believe more teams will disband in the future but BW will miraculously rise again before everything is too late.

nooooooooo that sucks :'(

So, sad as it is, what are the genuine reasons at play here? They don't see a decent enough of a return of investment anymore with a BW team, or a team like WeMadeFox? But I wonder, even though SC2 exists now, I don't see how the bw scene has changed that much for the investments to be worth less? Surely this is an isolated problem for the company of WeMade Fox such that speculation on other companies is pointless; if the speculation proves true then we have to assume the BW scene has diminished to a point that it costs too much to run a team to be worth it and surely is the end of all things.

booo poor midas, hope they manage to find a new sponsor

After 4-5 years of running a team, companies pulling sponsorship is not unexpected, especially if their new CEOs have little interest in esports, as is the case with Wemade and MBC. The true test will be whether Kespa can find new sponsors for either of these teams. If they can't, then you can probably say that esports (not just BW because it isn't just BW being affected here) in Korea is struggling.

sad news, hope kespa finds some sponsor for the team, else pro league etc will be so small =(

well the sc2 team "just" had 3 players, i hope F.United can finish it and then next season foreign team with sjow etc and moon and lyn find new team
harsh to say but with moon and lyn play wc3 again their sc2 skill is really bad atm and soccer never was good

Terrible
