Doubt it. Maybe a few of the B-teamers who still wanna play games for a living but can't find a place to go. I get the feeling most Brood War pros play Brood War because they like the game, not because they want to make a lot of money. They might take it as the change they need to start their life in a more reliable career/education/etc. I don't think any of the A-teamers are planning on switching to SC2 tho, since they'll have the ability to play on other teams.
It's weird how many SC2 players think SC2 is the natural progression. For a lot of people, especially everyone who doesn't play it, it's really not that attractive. Maybe I shouldn't, but I do find it offensive when SC2 players see some trouble in the BW community and immediately pounce on it to say "HEY MAYBE EVERYONE WILL MOVE TO SC2 LOL." Maybe this is a Brood War forum and no one cares about how it will affect SC2. Why do you even browse BW if all you have to talk about is SC2? There's no rule against this, but it gets tiring hearing it every time there is any news in the BW community. Hey Flash is a free agent do you think he'll join SC2??? KLOLAFWEWEFA@W#
the reason there are a lot of sc2 people in this thread is because it was community news'd.
Any news that affects both communities will be trolled. I think maybe this thread should been posted in the BW section AND the SC2 section, separately.
Fuck man, so the rumors are true.. That one topic which I reported and zatic closed has come to fruition.. I think everyone in that thread was so saddened by the truth.. where are these gamers going to go
This really sucks for the RTS scene in general, but even if the rumors are true and two more teams are on the decline, the pro BW scene isn't going anywhere soon.
Flash re-signed with KT for what, 250k? And the most SPL finals pulled record viewership - and from a young generation as well.
My favorite team.. Since Toona S.G. to Pantech & Curitel to Pantech EX to WeMade Fox =[
I wonder what will happen to each of them And I wish I had a picture on this computer of the WeMade shirts on the wall behind the desktop, with my banner above them and WeMade Fox mousepad under my mouse. And I constantly wear my Fox bandana as well =[
That sucks! I hope Thorzain, Naniwa, and Fenix can find a permanent home next month! I hope the other Wemade players find a new home quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if a foreign team like FXO swoops them up.

Hopefully KeSPA can find a home for your team. :/
Likewise, I have faith in MBC to continue their production on one of their other channels and keep the team together, but we can only hope.

Maybe you haven't heard of them but there are SC2 players like Moon on that team. This is community news, not just BW news.
If you are seriously bothered by people speculating whether certain BW pros will switch to SC2 even after their team has disbanded, then it's probably a personal problem. People have switched before, obviously, so it's legit speculation to wonder if it will happen again, given the circumstances.
Good players will soon be available in abundance and some teams might have enough money to pick up some of them. I'm curious whether those teams will pick up good players or rely on promising rookies and/or less-than-stellar veterans.
For example, Woongjin has hOn_sin (decent rookie), as well as GuemChi, free, and Really (under-performing veterans). I doubt they'll bench these guys for potential newcomers like BaBy and Shuttle. Woongjin has a large enough team already (the above four minus free are second-liners) and there's that loyalty between the coach and his current players.

I maintain that no Brood War player will switch to SC2 while still A-list in BW. It'll always only be B-listers looking to see if they do better in a different game, or former A-listers trying to regain lost glory in a new environment

Really retired, Free is in a perpetual slump, Sin didn't win a single playoff game, and Guemchi is pretty bad now. After Light transferred into Stars, he went directly into the lineup and stayed there. However, while I would love to have baby, mind, and Wooki aboard, I would rather have the former FOX find a new sponsor and keep all their players. There is no shortage of kids wanting to be progamers, and there will be talents to be discovered. If, however, we get less teams and the remaining teams absorb the current ones, there will be no demand for new blood and less cash to flow around.

Damn, put a hyphen in there or something, nearly gave me a heart-attack. :p
I believe knowledgeable persons were talking about this in Fox's last STX Cup match LR thread and saying the daughter of the Korean Air CEO was a major fan, and Korean Air would be likely to take them on if needed.

baby couldn't leave easily because this is quite possibly the last game ever for wemade fox. if you looked carefully, you would have seen baby tear up at the end. i would hope people would think before they talk next time.
What?Fox can easily get a new sponsor seeing as the head honcho of KA loves the team.

like I said its very likely that if Wemade stops sponsoring Fox then Korean Air would.
