Or is it that the average games made the epic games more epic?

Also i really hope Killer manges to stick with Jaedong. It's kinda unclear on their relationship practice wise but surely it must be helping him, his ZvZ especially.

My vantage point as an observer is better than his as a player, it's not unreasonable claim I can see his mistakes and his opportunities. That doesn't change the fact that once the natural stops mining the game is done, losing the second gas would have made even observers prohibitively expensive for JangBi, equally every interceptor loss would be expensive. He had everything he needed right there and let it slip away. Well both players had given up big opportunities and lost it. Like jangbi's loss in game 4 where he could of either won it or at least drew it. You made it sound like this was the worse finals every, although this was so much better than stork v fantasy or that finals calm was in.

Perfect writeup for perfect games. That famos swf + the video brought tears to my eyes. Regarding Flash, I don't think he will become more scary after surgery than before. Mindgames have always been his strength and that's not affected by a wrist injury.

According to the battle reports, the finals was an unexciting gambling match, which fantasy threw away due to stupidity. fantasy didn't lose. JangBi won, for a lot of reasons. First: knowing fantasy would prepare like mad, and keep up on the metagame. Second: perseverance through adversity when fantasy just didn't go away. Third: knowing exactly what risks he has to take to step up his game to a finals victory. Fourth: Winning a complete series without his signature unit. Fifth, summing all the previous ones: THE BALLS ON JANGBI, they are massive. I know trying to be objective is cool, but coming back from a 40 supply deficit in game five with his entire legacy on the line merits SOME credit to the Protoss hero. Sticking it out while incredibly behind, forcing the SCVs in the contain to build turrets in fear of a bulldog, keeping him in the dark with a frickin' corsair (!)... all that until fantasy was too cramped to build an ebay or rax without being vulnerable to speed zealots. It was brilliant psychology: fantasy was ahead, and he knew it. He could risk going for the kill only at the price of a gamble. He kept fantasy on his toes with occasional pokes on the contain, but didn't commit to the point a counterattack would be impossible. At that point, some excellent control, beautiful decision making and avenues of attack, and clawing his way back with sheer willpower... just beautiful. tl;dr: It's easy to say "fantasy could have won if he was smarter". But the same mentality that would have had him win from that point couldn't ever be the one that brought him there. He was in the state of mind of "time is on my side". Jangbi read it beautifully. I also sense strange lack of proportion between OSL Final game ratings in Battle Report and general rating of Fantasy vs JangBi series. Although maybe it is the case of Best Of 5 which brings strategically irrelevant, but extremly watchable games.

I especially liked 2pacalypses story, it's the fairy tale to tell your children! :D Kwark your analysis was good from a scientific point of view, the next time we have the bot AI competition maybe you can point out their flaws too. On a more serious note, you need to bring back that crushed soul humor you had for Calm vs Fantasy battle reports if you're going to only write about mistakes made. Contagion, the awards were great, and damn was I pissed that Killer got that disc loss and then the fucking BO loss vs soO. On the plus side, this gave me more reason to root for Jangbi, and I don't know if Jangbi could have taken Killer like he took out soO! Riptide a classic piece as usual! Bringing together the OSL and its legacy, and yes, that is the best intro ever!

Now that I think about it, Sets 1 and 5 impressed me, too. Jangbi patiently turned Fantasy's contain/harassment into an expensive deathtrap, twice, easily wiping it out once Fantasy got comfortable marching Goliaths to resupply his force. He just patiently built up goons and walked to Fantasy's front door, turning off the spigot. Dope. How many hours did Fantasy practice against HT/Storm? Too funny. How do you say "psych" in Korean? Long Live BroodWar!!!
