this is going to be a great weekend

I hate the idea of forcing players to play all three games regardless. Feels so unnecessary.

You might want to edit the OP, Violet's race is zerg not protoss!
|
PvT enough for ya?!
*Oh, and an impressively bad map-pool for Z
|
GO DRG! comeback and be the hope for zerg again, because I dont think nestea can do that anymore, and NOONE else can for the next 2-3 months!
|
Disappointed they didn't stagger the times for the matches. Offset them by 30 minutes and the world would be a better place. Oh well, should be an interesting weekend nonetheless.

Strange idea to make an offline tournament for 8 players only and all of them have already played against each other so much in the past few months. I rather watch Dreamhack and UFC 145.
I just hope MLG doesn't get to the point again, where the same players are seeded into every MLG event because of some results of the past.
|
Quick question, guys is this a ppv event?
|
ROFL @ MLG. 8 players fighting each other for 3 days. Either pay for this or.... watch Dreamhack Stockholm with 128 players for free. One could watch some parts of both events as Dreamhack starts on Monday at 10 CET while MLG is begining at ~00:00 CET if I'm not mistaken.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm sure gonna enjoy a SC2 weekend and spend those $10 on snacks rather than on a stream :>

Why on earth would you make it three games in a match no matter what?
Does MLG exist in some weird world where their continued existence is contingent on them making up tournament structures and rules that make no sense? Did they add this after someone figured out if all they had were 2-0s they would struggle to fill time?
I am so confused. I guess it does not matter that much and that they will have more games to broadcast, but this is so very fluffy.

My god these times are so bad T.T
Guess I'll have to stay up to watch MKP/PartinG at least

Well, the time is perfect for where the event is held... at least you don't have to get up 3am to try to watch a couple GSL matches before work.

It's a pretty weird idea for a "tournament", if you looking for upset and storyline and that, it's probably not your thing, but if you just want watch 8 top player try to beat each other to a bloody pulp over 50+ matches / 100+ games, it's perfect.
Really, the whole arena 1 / arena 2 seeding thing makes little sense to me, I just treat it as a very elaborate show match / intense training session.

i assume it's to assist in bracket seeding. games won might be used as a tiebreaker or something....

its 10$ and its been made clear in all the threads actually posted by MLG.
You can buy this for 10$ or Spring Arena 1 and 2 + HD for Spring Championship for 30$.

What do you mean? its the top 8 from the previous season, its the exact same thing as GSL, except Code A/Up n' Down is called qualifiers.
It used to be based off points earned if im not mistaken, totally different from last year, this is much better.
And if people wonder why this is being done, its to get more regular content out, people are getting upset about this "very small event" and while it is small, then its more content, would you rather have 4 big live events over a year, or 4 big live events +5 arenas minimum?
