Beastyqt over Sting First over Daisy Fraer over Kas Squirtle over Ret Babyknight over Vortix Not too bold, but it also means I have Sase over Coca. Later round predictions includes Nerchio over Taeja in the Ro8 and Sase over Nerchio in the semis. I feel like I'm going to get the most burned though by the three ST players in the upper right. I could see Curious or Life taking down Squirtle just because they're teammates and anything can happen on "any given Sunday." But I can't assume Squirtle losing and not getting to face Naniwa in the semis, so here we are. http://www.bracketmaker.com/predict.cfm?parent=815857&user=447626 On one hand, I think there's going to be less upsets than TSL3 because the competitive scene is much more mature than it was in May 2011 (the transformative MLG Columbus hadn't happened yet). Koreans are regularly part of foreign tournaments and foreign players are known in Korea. Most of the people who made it into the tournament are very established even if they're not considered the absolute best of the best. I feel like there's more known quantities this year. But, it's crazy to reflect that the only person in both TSL3 and TSL4 (aside from the invites) is Hasuobs. And as a casual fan, there's still eight players (25%) that I hadn't really heard of until this tournament. NCAA brackets show that there's always more upsets in the first couple rounds than anyone ever expects. Not to be evil, but here's a thought experiment: instead of looking for the next breakout star a la Thorzain and Naniwa, look for the established players that will be irrelevent in another 15 months.

Step 1: Cross reference ELO of both Korea and International TLPD. Step 2: Korea has heavier influence on decision. Step 3: Where the FCUK are the maps [???] Step 4: If player just has to play 1 match-up, must favor into new round.

I'd actually like it a ton if Taeja could beat CoCa, but imo CoCa is one of the top 5 Zerg players in the world, plus you don't play on SlayerS without getting a lot of practice versus Terran. I just hope HyuN can beat Squirtle; a TvZ/ZvZ finals would be awesome to see, especially out of HyuN and CoCa.
