Parting has shown to be pretty top class PvZ even without the immortal/sentry, and not to mention Parting's pvp is probably his best matchup atm and his vT is still pretty good Without the immortal all-in, Parting's PvZ winrate would drop, I'm sure Look at his match vs Violet and vs Sniper. I rate Sniper quite higher than Violet in ZvP I'm not saying he'd be a scrub, though. But the all-in is boosting his winrate like 1-1-1 did for Puma in a shady way On December 23 2012 12:24 vthree wrote:On December 23 2012 11:50 X3GoldDot wrote:On December 23 2012 11:45 Ace Frehley wrote: In the end, I think it was for the better that Parting and his all-in lost It'd be like Puma being GSL champion on the back of his 1-1-1 Puma was only ridiculously good in vP because of his 1-1-1, he was mediocre in vT and his vZ was amazing because of his macro. Parting has shown to be pretty top class PvZ even without the immortal/sentry, and not to mention Parting's pvp is probably his best matchup atm and his vT is still pretty good Actually, PuMa was actually really good vs P in macro games as well with his bio control. I think people just remember the 1-1-1-1. I am. Pretty sure that 1.5 year from now, people will forget that PartinG was actually good in macro PvZ and only remember his wonwonwon. Puma mindgamed a lot with his 1-1-1 He threatened with it and then, every once in a while, he played greedy while the toss was being defensive/safe and just rolled in a macro game. It was shady Also, Since Parting is so outspoken, with his funny jokes and stuff, people are more tolerant with his immortal-sentry and even cheer for it. (Broodlord-infestor hate comes into play as well) Puma's 111 was hated because he was more serious in his interviews (and terran was doing well). There was no lobby for his abusive play Lol, wtf? It is shady??? Are you serious? Isn't the whole point of strategy games to try to fool you opponents? Is tech switching from BLs to ultras shady? Sorry my first language is not english guess the word shady was wrong Guess I should use the word 'broken' or something 1-1-1 was so strong puma was in control of the game from the start
Ok, I see. But in some ways, the wonwonwon is the same when facing PartinG. PartinG does get away with more early 3 base builds because the opponent's builds are mainly to counter the wonwonwon.

Blizzard Cup takes the champions of various tournaments and pits them in a tournament of champions.
I say that's pretty damn impressive to come out as top of something like that.
I think because there were only 10 players in the tournament, people feel like it's less of an accomplishment than a regular Code S season with 32. However, if you look at the number of games, Life played 23 to win Season 4, and 25 for Blizzard Cup.
And the games in Blizzard Cup were all against champions. In one tournament he beat the Season 1 Champion, OSL and WCS Asia Champion, Season 3 Champion, MLG and IPL Champion, Season 5 Champion and BWC and WCG Champion. That's a hell of a list.

Not if you only take GSL into consideration... I think lot of people are missing the point of these awards, they are done with GSL performance in mind. It is like when the NBA choose its MVP, it is for the regular season. And not for a players performance in the playoffs or Olympics, etc.
I actually think Sniper getting best Zerg was more strange. He won because of point decay which doesn't really make sense.

Yeah, I think for awards like this, they should use a different point system altogether. Anyone to win the last GSL from their race automatically wins, unless someone has won multiple. DRG had one GSL and one top 4 finish. He was also in Code S all year long but that still put him behind Sniper on points.

Actually, season 1 1st + season 2 2nd > season 5 1st. But yes, winning late is a huge advantage. It makes sense if they are using it as qualifier for tournaments ( WCS/WCG seeds, Blizzard Cup) since you want the 'in form' players. But it doesn't make sense for year end awards like these.
They don't need a different point system, they can use the same one but just take out the decay.

How many GSL did Rain win ? It's an award for GSL performance. I am just shocked at people.

All time results Seed > Rain GSL Seed > Rain Now probably Seed < Rain

As many of you very well know, I was recently temp banned. So I created a blog so I could shed a bit more light regarding that situation.
Here is the blog: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=389969
I hope this clears up any misunderstandings or issues.
Also, to everyone who posted comments regarding my poll such as calling me a prick and saying that it was unacceptable, I just want to say that I know very well what I did and that I regret doing so. Also, you guys had every right to say what you said about me so I appreciated your honesty. I know it was a stupid and foolish move.
