I totally do not understand your community. Why TLS is SO OMG POPULAR? Why it is more popular then ISL? What is the REAL reason? Prize pool is lower, organization is rather strange ( for example a day before yesterday ppl had to choose between TLS and NW ). What is the reason? I guess one reason is that this tour is organized by admins of tl? But what this gives to this event? Why tons of bad players or even sc2 players come to play this event, and they NEVER come to play ISL or gambit cup or any event, which was organized previously on tl.net by not admins.
This is not a kind of any trolling, we (me and my russian friends) just cant understand your community.
And the last and most important reason, how you managed to get Sayle to this?
Thank you. yea it's all about the TL frontpage hype. what's interesting is whether this is gonna have a snowball effect and contribute to increasing viewer numbers for all the other ongoing bw tournaments - so many people got to see how amazingly cool bw can be, maybe they'll keep watching.
yO, thx for reply. Ok, i understand. All this is great and good, hope ppl will play more BW, cause BW obv much better then childishSC2.
But anyways, i want to say to someguy/someguys, who made all this hype on front page - what a shame, that you did not make same for previous BW events.
Ok, see you all in next qualifier.

Plumbum i think it's because they are using the TL stream so all the Sc2 players watch the stream to see what's going on, why they are casting BW instead of Sc2, and they keep watching because it's so much fun. i think that 3/4 of the viewers were actually Sc2 guys, or ex BW players. if you check the chat, there is always few people (us) the BW players commentating what's going on. but it's good, they will see how good and entertaining BW is. and hopefully. this will help our community a lot.

I heard it was featured on the front page of twitch, so that would explain one part of it, the other being that it's featured on TL and it's TL's own tournament.

i would say at least half of the viewers were sc2 guys who randomly jumped into tls channel. and then leaving the page on while doing something else. all foreign active bwers who know bw tours (like gc nw and isl)and watch them regularly are about 300 ppl on average(maybe isl finals have more 1000 viewers). so we have to admit the fact that sc2 is much more popular. however this is a good opportunity to show how bw awesome is, how fun to watch, and how skillful the players are. thx to tls.

A lot of SC2 players started off playing BroodWar. It's pretty reasonable to presume that many former BroodWar players tuned in because they wanted to see a big BroodWar tournament. There's been a huge drought of BroodWar since TSL2, and now it's like the rain is coming down, and all those underground roots are sprouting back up.
