The first day of Challenger League in WCS America and Europe is in the books. Nine players advanced to Premier, nine others fell back down to the qualifiers, while two had their match delayed due to network problems. Here are the results!
WCS Europe
In WCS Europe, all four of the defending Premier League players were able to hold off the Challengers from the qualifiers.
Players currently qualified for Premier (12/32) Protoss: MC, Genius, Stardust, NaNiwa Terran: MMA, Mvp, Happy Zerg: VortiX, Nerchio, TargA, FireCake, Starbuck
WCS America
WCS America saw Korean players have a difficult time, with Apocalypse and viOLet getting sent back down to the qualifiers by desRow and Top. There was also an unusual result as MajOr and Kane had their match rescheduled to a future date due to network problems, set to resume from their 1-1 score.
Players currently qualified for Premier (13/32) Protoss: Oz, HerO, MacSed, HuK, desRow, Top Terran: Polt, TaeJa, Heart, aLive Zerg: ByuL, Jaedong, Scarlett
Day 2 Matches
Though the defending Premier players went 8-1 over the Challengers on day one, part of that lopsided record was due to high vs. low seed matches like NaNiwa vs StakimaN and Scarlett vs. Cowman. With many of match-ups on day 2 being a lot closer, we may see the Challengers have more success.
Good luck for all the players! I Really want to see new names in the brackets. This is going to be an interesting season no matter how these game ends!
Firecake was pretty darn impressive. I hope he can blend in some all-inish plays, and he'll be a ro16/ro8 contender. Not bad for a part-time player anyways.

Yes, Heromarine vs Starbuck was a really unfortunate MU, both are younger players, who are currently slowely but surely climbing up in the ranks of foreigners. Although I would have liked to see HM win, I´m still statisfied the way it turned out, since Starbuck had a lot more to lose than Heromarine, who can still show his skill in Team-leagues and the relatively well developed german scene, while Starbuck would have pretty much nothing to do for the next 3 months, if he had lost here.

What the hell did you want aLive to do?! He was a better player and won straight up. TT

today there is only 1 toss and 1 zerg in each group, so pvps wont happen and pvz will be at a minimum.
