Thrash talking is fine. Dark is a thrash talker, but he plays in Korea and has won multiple tournaments. Talking shit about korean zergs when you don't play in Korea and have no real results to back it up is irritating. That is why Nerchio gets shat on when he loses even though he played well.
It doesn't help that Nerch is a sore loser either. No one wants to see someone complain about Koreans being too good while in game losing. If all Nerchio did was trash talk players in a light hearted fashion no one would hate him for it.

It was a great day today and great tournament so far. Amazing Neeb, awesome Pet, TY's fantastic Mech, True's mothership abduct, surprisingly good Trap ... A pity, MarineLord did not do very well yesterday and all the credit goes to Nerchio, who was very close to going out of this group of death. But at the end, I was still mostly happy about Maru's manner mules at the end of the day ... I just love him when he does it in the middle of a fight, where nobody except Maru knows, it is already over. This is just the cherry on the cake.
Plus: Nerchio learned today an important skill - how to "GG"! :-)

Trash-talking - when done right - is funny and entertaining.
The problem with Nerchio is that he's bad at trash-talking. Nothing he ever says is remotely funny. Korean Zergs so bad? How's that even funny? His trash-talking is lame.So he comes across as a try-hard. And that's why he's annoying (to me, and some people).
MC is a great trash-talker. He's funny. The running joke that never fails to put a smile on my face is his "ez man list".
Another model trash-talker and braggadocio is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Almost everything he quips is gold.
Want to trash talk? Be like MC. Be like Zlatan.

Looks like Neeb is our foreigner hope, let's go get em' Neeb

My point is, that after all that talk about closing the gap, that after killing the Korean scene to give these guys hand outs and to try and help them compete they still can't. Still down to that single foreigner to put up a decent show like always.

He trash talked and didn't advance so it's fair he's getting his share now but comments here are completely over the top.

I think Nerchio's chances at Blizzcon are over tbh. He's locked into group A I belive against Dark, Elazer/Violet, and either Stats or TY. I can't see him getting out.

To be fair it's not like it was a regular trash talk, the Nerchio's been BMing Koreans for months now

We already have ~100 pros that dont trashtalk so I dont see why this guy annoys so many people. It's not like he made a fool of himself getting stomped today. Besides that all this talk probably gave this thread 20 extra pages, more hype to the group and in general more fun to watch today, whether you were rooting for him or not.
Maru was imo playing way better today than in any other individual league and Nerchio wasnt far away from beating him especially in G1. In G3 most Zergs would have already lost to the 3rd hatch tank push. Patience looked strong and plays Protoss so no shame loosing there and Classic looked terrible and he 2:0 him... Overall this group was exciting. Nerchio played very well and did ten times better than Marinelord who wanted to "slay...koreans...". If such a global event would happen more often I could definitly see Nerchio beeing able to make a RO4 or something. There is a solid amount of variance so one tournament doesnt have the biggest expressiveness.

I really hope neeb don't crumble when seeing victory this time. I don't why people are confused about so much nerchio hate. He's been a cunt for a long time. He's like firecake only a significantly better player.
I do think he has a point though. While I don't agree that korean zergs are bad. The gap between korean zergs and foreign zergs do seem to be much less than the gap between korean terran/protoss and their foreign counterparts.

People shit talking foreigners, yet Neeb has a really strong chance to get to semis.

Last year, it was rare for a foreigner to make brackets and that was with 5+ of them competing. We have 3 foreigners here. Assuming equal skill, out of 16 players, 1.5 would advance on. Since there aren't any half spots, Neeb moving on, Marinelord failing, and Nerchio right on the cusp is as close to statistically accurate as we're gonna get. Remember. in the past, one foreigner making it on was a miracle and it was never a sweep. One sweeping and another one close game short is something else.

Alright, so a throw down of who bopped who. Neeb bopped the GSL season 1 winner Neeb bopped an out-of-form Rogue Solar bopped MarineLord...who got second in some tournament. Trap bopped MarineLord. Nerchio bopped Classic, the winner of the SSL season...I forgot Patience bopped Nerchio. Maru sort of bopped Nerchio
So bopping versus bopping, you have a non-tournament winner bopping GSL winner and arguably strongest player of the first half or 2016.
Goes to Neeb.
You have an in form Trap bopping the SSL season 2 winner and said winner and trap bopping MarineLord. Not much of a surprise here, goes to Trap.
You have a foreign tournament winner against the SSL winner and completely bopping him. Patience, who won against the other Starleague winner bops Nerchio, and then said Starleague winner partially bops Nerchio.
Given the massive bopping of Classic, this one is a tie.
So it's pretty even in that the top of the foreign scene competes on a similarish level as near the top of the Koreans.
But remember, people thought that the foreigners would get completely bopped, but instead, these are champion level boppers who are getting bopped by relative no names with regards to the highest level of bopping.

Nerchio is the type of player that you either hate or love but for sure doesn't go unnoticed, this is something that we need more of, not just, "I'm going to try to show good games for my fans", and yes he wasn't able to win but it's not like he got crushed like some people are implying.

Maru wins and Nerchio loses. Perfect outcome :D

How could we know for sure the gap between Korean Protoss and Neeb/Showtime? Classic and herO looked clueless... With all these rumors tho it's hard to know for sure if they even tried :/. Classic had a Blizzcon spot on the line tho, I'm sad for him even though I predicted him to lose. I LBed Nerchio but I wanted Maru to win so either outcome was a win . I guess if he can't win with this WCS system, queen buff, ultras and ravagers, he just isn't supposed to play at Maru level.
Too bad Stephano retired early :/.
