I don't have anything against obsing different way even with bit of spam but can't stand when: Scrolling is fast. Need to put lowest speed. Constantly clicking random units or buildings. Equal to spam. Dragging camera by clicking minimap constantly. And of course, Zooming out. Can't stand it. Fights look better when you slowly scroll through action and engagements and when you don't really know how nuch both side left.

the way BSL is obsed, it's just terrible experience for the viewers, the guy's spam clicking on every single units and buildings in the screen constantly for no reasons while changing pov every half second... not watchable.

i'd rather have zero violating the sacred rules of a simple viewer rather than missing the entire action, while some random sisisierious caster does just the opposite. #bsl4lyfe

So not spam click everywhere for no reasons and changing pov every seconds = not missing the entire action ? I think you're wrong, and almost twenty years of pro obsing prove you are wrong btw.

im sorry, i was wrong thinking i genuinely enjoyed zero's cast, your argument did provide coclusive evidence i had a horrible time and from now on rather stare at my walls for four hours, having already developed PTSD from the terrible experience forced upon me by the horrendous caster. excuse me, i'm going to drink a bottle of bleach and then continue to scratch out my eyes.

Totally agree. I think they did Fausts Rookie League? It was a pleasure to watch and listen.

I see where you are coming from, but somehow because you get so much of Zzzero's personality, it is very enjoyable to me. He is a frantic person, he casts 8 hours of bw on a day. He has to handle with shitty people that [want to / don't want to] replay a disconnected game, arguing like kids.
His cast is frantic. He gets all the drops, 99% of the action. He casts like a FPV. If you have a strong personality to back it up, you can do this. If you're pimply 16 year old, follow OPs rules.

It's funny. I too agree that Schamtoo, for example does this really well. Also he's really positive towards the players skill, which helps a lot for attracting new blood. However, when watching BSL, I never really thought about ZZZero's way of observing. It's probably because he watches a replay more similar to the way I watch it.
For new players I can definitely see how it can be a bit too much all over the place.

You re so far the only one complaining about it,i watch it pretty often and i never saw anyone complaining.but i agree that very often high lvl players tends to over click in building and units,so is something to take mind not far as a terrible experience, and just for the content he provides u can say that is very watchable,so show some respect plz. Dont be an as*hole.

You say I sound like an asshole because I said "not watchable" but for me it really is. It's like movie editing, you probably wont watch a whole movie with bad shot framing, zoom in/out, changing shots every second and so on... It would strain your eyes and makes you give up, even if the storyline is good.

I wouldn't say you should poo ppoo ppp's comments as him being an asshole. He was just expressing his concern. We all need to remember if we want to entice more people to our community we need to be open to change and that's all of us, content creators, tournament organisers, casters heck even forum members.
We should do everything we can to make BW accessible to everyone and we should listen to everyones concerns.

To me when I watch the BSL VODs, i see it as very watchable, but if people have a problem with it thats fine. That said, its important to maybe not compare the korean stlye obsing with foreign obsing at all, because we just cant acheive that level that they do, at least not now. sorry for blank messages below im not sure how to remove them

and for the new people coming to the community and just saying that the BSL is a terrible experience for the viewers, take note this is not a good way to be Welcome, afterall the new people coming all they want is to change the game, add new mechanics and play like flash jaedong and bisu in 2 weeks.

I learned a lot about how to handle observing from the SC:R events. I think before then I studied a lot, but casting + observing creates a difficult back & forth.
Few things I've picked up:
- Every movement should be precise - click right below where you want to see. This puts the focal point of the screen in the middle since the boxes + slight-below click will put everything in exactly the middle of the upper 2/3rds of the vision.
- Shots should be able to linger for 10+ seconds. If a shot is < 10 seconds, you move too quickly. A viewer and a caster cannot hold onto that info and it becomes fleeting.
- It's better to be able to expand one large thing and miss some action if the casters are really indepth on something. While, this is going to generate a lot of hate from people who love to "view everything", this is telling a story not always 100% analysis of the entirety of the game.
- In terms of priority: 1. Big fights 2. Harassment Drops 3. big map movement. 4. expansions & base macro (tech/structure count)
This might not be 100% correct, but this is what I kept in my head for when i got hired for this stuff. Mostly, I did my own style when i first got to those events, and i got told i moved way too fast. They told me to slow down a ton and it ended up creating a much more solid cast and style for the event.
