Jason McCourty is the Browns CB coming to the Pats. Devin McCourty is already there. Just to be clear. Edit This is such a garbage graph. That has to be said. $500k makes a giant leap in bar size from Jimmy G to Cousins...

And Hue Jackson has not demonstrated that he is a competent head coach. they might win a game this year but im not going much further than that

There's also the fact that money doesn't help if you can't remember where it is. I seem to recount a story about some well off old dude who went off for a walk and just disappeared. His was eventually found homeless years later. On March 16 2018 06:24 ZerOCoolSC2 wrote: If Hue can get his shit together, they could. A lot of teams come out of nowhere and surprise. I'm hoping they make some games good this year and show that these moves were smart. And I don't see how these moves that the Browns are making right now are smart. The previous regime made the smart moves when they stockpiled a lot of future draft picks. The current regime has been trading those draft picks for little benefit. It looks like they are making moves to make a short term splash. And the regime will take credit for regression towards the mean.

I'm hoping they make some games good this year and show that these moves were smart. I don't think that there's necessarily anything wrong with the moves that they have made -- and many even look pretty decent. But I think that you are grossly underestimating how much of a shitshow Cleveland is. This is a team that is 1-31 over the past two seasons. Their big additions are Landry and Hyde. They lost Joe Thomas. They added Tyrod Taylor, who at best, is a poor man's Alex Smith. They'll add a QB with their No. 1 pick, but he won't be ready for at least another year. Here are their opponents next year: Home: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Carolina, Kansas City, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets Away: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Oakland, Denver, Houston The only game where the Browns might be favored is that Jets game. With all of this in mind, getting to five wins would be an accomplishment for this team. It's much more likely that they finish in the 3-4 win range, or 2-3 wins to adjust for Hue Jackson-level coaching.

I'm banking that mostly on Wade Phillips not being able to get a grasp on the defense (secondary specifically) and they regress. Also I think Jared Goff is overrated and Gurley has to have his bi-annual bad year.
