This new tournament series is named after Justin "Elusory" Chua, in recognition of his contributions to the Starcraft community, particularly his past role as long serving OSC Chief Operating Officer + Tournament Director. Elusory did a mountain of work behinds the scenes, such as regularly admining and organising events, updating the World Rankings and other databases, setting up OSC's trial Brood War League, and being a constant driving force of our player value and reward focused policies. He went above and beyond, putting in more hours than most, even putting his own money back into events. Fair to say he was a large factor in OSC achieving annual growth in SC2 competitions over the last few years!
Prior to his long tenure at OSC, Elusory also ran SYF Gamings SC2 Division, worked as PSISTORM Gamings In-house Projects Manager, and served as a Moderator for the SEA Community Site SC2SEA.
Outside of Management and Community work, Elusory was a fine player in his own right! He's an OSC Hall of Fame player, for the achievement of Most tournaments played in a season (300). In October 2017 he was picked up by OSC Elite on a 6 month contract, and while on the team, he finished in the top 50 SC2 players of 2017/qualified for the OSC Season 5 Championship, came 11th at WESG APAC Finals, and captained his teammates to a second place finish in season 2 of the ANZ Proleague.
Elusory exits the sport with many personal achievements, but also a legacy of helping others towards their own. As he now moves away from esports to pursue other opportunities, we run this series series to remember what he has done for the game. On behalf of everyone at OSC, and the SC2 Community, thank you Elusory and good luck!
