nobody really cares about whether your baby is raised Jewish or not. What makes the writers think that anyone is interested in this sort of bullshit?
I care. It shows a perpetual flaw in the relationship between Louis and Sheila: first it was wanting to get married without talking about one of the most important questions to figure out beforehand ("do you want kids"); now it's pushed back to agreeing to have kids without talking about one of the most important questions to figure out beforehand in an inter-religious relationship ("what religion do we raise them, if any"). I think this recurring theme about them rushing into romance and the future without thinking about their potentially huge hurdles fits into Louis's narrative quite nicely. He desperately wants to be appreciated and liked and loved, Sheila is pretty much his dream girl, and Louis is more than happy to drop (almost) everything and say "fuck it, I want to be with her, let's gogogo because if I lose her I don't know what I'd do".
And I hate that gay psychologist who thinks he's going to get into Louis' pants by acting like a gentleman.
Oh come on now. I know you enjoy shitting on everything, but even hating on Dr. Lipschitz? He's the real MVP in all of this, especially recently, when it comes to helping Louis (and now, Harvey) realize when they're overreacting and why they're saying and doing certain things. What don't you like about him? Obviously your statement about him wanting to get into Louis's pants is just ridiculous.
I'm guessing that was the midseason finale? They kinda wrapped that one up a bit too quick. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but I do kinda like the new rythm. We'll see how the rest turns out in december or january or whenever it returns again. Guess DPB will PM us all
I liked the battle between Samantha and Alex a lot. I'm going to echo bourgeois for once though and say I don't like the Louis and Sheila storyline at all. It doesn't add anything and it's boring.
i think its pretty clear that the louis sheila relationship had to happen for character development. they couldnt make louis managing partner and solve the firms inhouse problems without making louis mature the fuck up.

Of course!
I don't think the date that Suits will return for the second act of Season 8 has been announced yet, and the past seasons have had variable return months (sometimes January... sometimes March...) but 10 out of the 16 episodes have aired during this first act, so the remaining 6 should be completed before May: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Suits_episodes#Episodes

I'm so excited to see what kind of leadership Louis is going to bring to the firm!
I'm really glad that we got to see Alex and Samantha finally go at it and be super cutthroat, although it was predictable that neither of them could go five minutes before miscommunicating and doing some shady shit lol.
Louis (and puppetmaster Donna) are neutral enough (especially compared to the increasingly partisan Harvey + Alex vs. Robert + Samantha) to bring the firm together and see the bigger picture, as long as Louis grows up more, which was a character flaw that's being addressed by him gaining new perspective and maturity as a soon-to-be father.

I agree with evil that: 1. The Louis + Sheila storyline adds an opportunity for Louis's character development; 2. The baby/ family addition shows how Louis is learning how to step up, which is absolutely necessary for him to succeed as managing partner.
Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) is set to fully dive in to his new role as managing partner of the firm in the second half of Season 8 of USA’s Suits. The network revealed today that Season 8B will premiere Wednesday, January 23 at 10/9c and unveiled a new teaser.
“I had a nightmare last night that we made Louis managing partner,” Harvey (Gabriel Macht) says to Donna (Sarah Rafferty) in the above teaser. “That wasn’t a nightmare and you know it,” replies Donna.
The second half of Season 8 picks up with expectant father Louis clearly relishing his new title. “You’re a wild stallion, and I am not going to ride you hard,” Louis tells an uncomfortable Harvey in the clip.
From Universal Cable Productions, Suits was created and is executive produced by Aaron Korsh. Doug Liman, David Bartis and Gene Klein of Hypnotic serve as executive producers. Genevieve Sparling, Ethan Drogin and Christopher Misiano also serve as executive producers.
has suits not been renewed for season 9 or...? if donna having a new loveline is the main plot point for the remaining half of the season im guessing the writers have decided that this will be the last drama before harvey and donna end up together and they wrap the show up

USA Network’s Suits spinoff has embraced a familiar name for its moniker: The title of the forthcoming Gina Torres-led offshoot is officially Pearson, it was revealed Thursday.
The show title is, of course, a reference to the leading lady’s main character, former lawyer Jessica Pearson, who has relocated from New York City to Chicago to enter the dirty world of politics. (Read TVLine’s recap of the backdoor pilot, which aired as part of the Suits Season 7B finale, here.)
Joining Torres on the new series are Morgan Spector (Homeland) as Mayor Bobby Golec and Simon Kassianides (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as a cop/the mayor’s driver, both of whom were introduced to viewers in the backdoor pilot. The ensemble also includes Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill) as the ambitious city attorney Keri Allen — Rebecca Rittenhouse originally played the role in the pilot — Chantel Riley (Wynnona Earp) as Jessica’s cousin Angela, Isabel Arraiza (The Oath) as Jessica’s “intense” assistant Yoli and Eli Goree (Ballers) as the mayor’s press secretary Derrick.
The spinoff does not yet have a premiere date. Meanwhile, Suits returns for Season 8B next Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 10/9c.
what exactly is the reason jessica had to get her own spin off rather than stay on suits? id wager a guess that gina torres didnt like the way suits was going but the network decided to make good out of a bad situation?

First episode back from hiatus, and it was a little weird that everything ended perfectly, including everyone at the firm appropriately apologizing and congratulating everyone else. First time there hasn't even been a little cliffhanger or teaser or "Well that's gonna bite them in the ass next episode." Everyone did a good job. In fact, the only new thing is the possibility that Donna starts dating that funny, handsome client.
