This essentially is an early alpha version. Grubby and the dev on b2w stream said about a dozen on times that graphics in particular will change, and they are hoping for specific feedback what exactly people would like to have differently.

So you can just take this as a nice activity boost, that bout it.
Hopefully EA will be more ambitious with their cnc remasters.

the colours are pale (like sc2). wc3 original has the best colours (more colored) and you get such colours if you set the lighting (shadows aswell i think) on medium/low and not at high/ultra (you can see the difference at sc2).

I don't know.. Its just feel weird. His perfect hair, no stubbly facehair... In reveal trailer his mimics and gestures was so immature.
Also his lips are more "kissable" then my wife's
I think these are easy things to fix though. I agree he should be a little more rugged (or maybe even slowly go from the nicer face at the beginning of the campaign to more rugged towards the end).
I think the heroes could be slightly larger (some of the pictures showed the generic paladin hero being smaller than footmen), but in the actual campaign demo it Arthas seemed properly sized compared to the other units.

There will be cross compatibility with the OG game , so no worries ! dont like the upgrade , play the original

The source code wasnt lost, but the original renders were lost. So instead of rerendering the models and making new sprites, they had to make new sprites from scratch.
Known about this through the industry grapevine for a while. Very excited but I thought they'd be further along by now.
Really like the work they've done on the units and buildings so far -- crisp textures, no crazy normal mapping and just the right amount of new detail -- tiny things like bolts and straps and cracks and plates. Maybe the unit animations could be polished -- many of these still look like the old keyframe-to-keyframe-ish anims, and they lack weight: grunts should really look heavy and lumbering, ghouls should skulk and creep. Hard to say how much could be improved here without impacting the game's mechanics or performance or soliciting the ire of purists.
Environments however look really underwhelming to me. Never thought the original WC3's environments looked that hot, but I feel just up-res'ing the existing textures makes it look worse. Personally I'd love for them to adopt the aesthetic they used for Heroes of the the Storm: clean, comparatively desaturated low frequency textures with a painterly feel. Warcraft games can get pretty chaotic and noisy, highly saturated environments never helped. Also think they can reduce the hilliness of their maps by like 75% if not outright -- this soft blanket geology just looks bad and fucks with readability and makes the buildings look weird. Might offend purists though.
Human Arthas acts like an impetuous, rebellious teenager throughout the campaign. I don't mind him looking a bit younger, though I'd like to see some progression as he descends into madness and DK Arthas definitely can't be a pretty boy at all.

Not sure whether to put spoilers around all that.
I think when their demo level is The Culling of Stratholme you're fine. xD
B2W is the highest tier of WC3 casting, IMO. As WC3 gets bigger and bigger from Reforged, I hope B2W are showered in dollar bills. The scene owes them so much. WC3 revival in the US is pretty much entirely due to them.
