The tightly packed western conference is fun to watch.. i hope it stays that way. Has a conference leader at teh quarter pole ever had a lower chance of making the playoffs than this year's Clippers? And the impressive thing was that he looked like he could always create a good shot from the mid range against almost any defender. This year his in between game has looked like garbage and he has been very criticized to the point where he doesn't even try it anymore. But that is just one thing that is mysterious about the Celtics this season (Rozier? Brown?). With the Celtics playing like this and my other favorite teams - Warriors and Spurs - losing, basketball hasn't been much fun to watch lately. And here I thought I had hopped on a couple of fool-proof bandwagons... I'm going to respond to my own post lol. Since Hayward has taken a smaller role and has been demoted to the playmaker of the second line up, Tatums shot looks so much better. He had an insane +29 +/- against the pels yesterday and it has been like that over the last games. Maybe coincidence? Maybe he just needs the confidence of being one of the primary options. Likewice I think Hayward has gone from bad to worse. I really hope he gets his game back on track.

Covington's Defense No wonder Covington has such good defensive metrics. Here are his ON/OFFs since 2013. His presence on the floor coincides with a big drop in points scored by his opponents every year. 2013/2014 = -12.3 2014/2015 = -3.7 2015/2016 = -4.4 2016/2017 = -7.5 2017/2018 = -8.2

https://nbamath.com/2018-19-nba-tpa/ just check off "SF" and uncheck all other positions. if you watch a few games and know even a little bit about basketball you can immediately see the difference between Covington's defense and a player like say... TJ Warren.

enough about me... back to basketball. hilarious comments by Lowry last night : "we stopped bitching". Lowry warned them he was going to swear and they didn't even beep it out. http://chumam.streamon.fm/listen-pl-12036?smc=87 Toronto's switch to zone was pretty cool to watch last night. The

TJ Warren. I wasn't even "challenging" your comment, I actually find it notable that Covington ends up comparing favorably to centers for defensive metrics. And I know that's obviously your primary basis for posting comments here, even if you do watch basketball too sometimes. But I don't believe for a second that you watch Suns games. You just name-dropped TJ Warren because he's at the bottom of your defensive metrics.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25403168/cleveland-cavaliers-trade-kyle-korver-utah-jazz apparently Korver had a handshake deal that Cleveland would trade him if they were not a contender. Also , he used to play for Utah and apparently its a favourite city of his. Smart move by Cleveland to make sure a long time NBAPA fraternity member is in a decent situation.

Their starting 5 (with Ibaka) looks like one of the best lineups in the league.
