I think he is the second strongest Chinese player after TIME. At least he got second in GPL. Maybe Cyan is better? Hard to say, but TooDming is definitely in form again.

Yeah iA definitely fell off it seems. But with XY, Shana, Jieshy, Cloudy, Cyan, TIME, BreakingGG etc. the chinese scene seems pretty deep I have to say. Too bad there is no english coverage for most of it. Really hyped about that team league though.

The chinese scene has a rich and long history of being both deap and vibrant and inexorably average so I can't say I'm that exited, Jim is the only trully "great" players China ever gave us no one else was really a tournament contender level player., I hope it change someday but I think their server situation really hurt their grow. Maybe if they get to play on their server in the proleague they could turn out better then I thought.

But done this way, we can spread out the content better, make each match feel more meaningful, and do something for the foreign scene that it hasn't had EVER: make series/group preparation as important as it is in GSL. I feel like, as long as we're going to be doing Region Locked tournaments. THIS is how it should be done.

Sure offline matches have a certain sexiness to them, and who doesn't love big LAN events. I wouldn’t be surprised if in 2019 we get three mostly online WCS winter / summer / autumn + 2 week-ender small super-tournaments, one in Europe and one in Canada. That is, a mirror of Korea.

That is, a mirror of Korea. I do love the idea of having offline finals and semifinals with a big cross over Super Tournament between seasons. The big cost is travel expenses, and if Blizzard just flew everyone in a single region to a single studio say ESL in Europe, Blizz Arena in NA but only had to fly out 4-8 people per region I think it can be doable. That would be ideal for me IMO. But.. if the pencil pushers at Activision-Blizzard are still concerned about costs, then making the WCS Seasonal events all online wouldn't be the worst way to do it as long as we had at least 2-3 Offline events per year not including Blizzcon.
