If those aren't of the highest priorities to you, save the extra $150 and buy a better video card. FAR more useful than some overpriced "gaming" headset. Cost me about $18 at Wal-Mart. If you're looking for something more comfortable, there seems to be a padded version for about $20 more.
this is probably because you've never used a actual setup.. but whatever works for you.
personally I prefer buying audiophile grade headphones and a clip on mic if they mic goes bad ill just buy another since its cheap and the sound quality you get from the headphones will be beyond lovely :D Ive had to many "Gaming Headsets" mics go bad then im left with medium grade headphones which wasn't the reason I bought those headsets in the first place so yeah this was the course of action I choose to do lol.
My setup: Headphones Mic

I must have been through 6 pages of this topic and the same two headsets keep popping up: Sennheiser's and Steelseries, however their price is a bit too large for my wallet.
Can anyone suggest me a good headset geared towards commentating and quality of the microphone than sound? While I enjoy the bass and stereo sound of great headphones, the problem is I can never hear myself and my voice or articulation tends to slur becuase I can't hear my pronunciations (is this normal? Maybe I'm just paranoid) so I basically keep one hear on the sound from the headphones and the other one out in the open, hence why sound isn't that huge for me.
I do care about quality of the microphone because all the cheap ones I've been spending my money constantly die or kill the quality of my voice within months
Anyways yeah, I need a recommendation of my a headset that's: - great for gaming/commentating/casting
- that isn't USB (mic and audio jack please)
- has an adjustable microphone neck (so I can bring it closer or farther from my voice, basically flexible so I can adjust it anywhere)
- no tiny microphone bulb with that fuzzy stuff (It's really great!, but what happens with me is that that fuzzy stuff tends to eventually fall of or come on
- looks cool ;D (just toyin' around)
- 60$ with tax included MAX
I realize this is an extremely rigid set of standards, but after you've run through about 12 headsets in 2 years, you get a bit testy.
I hope someone can help D:
P.S: Good audio quality for me is anything like these Edit: XD200 Sony Headphones that I have. Perhaps I have poor ears, but these headphones I have for my music is just so damn good O:
Edit: see like these look cool, but they're too expensive and the reviews aren't so great, but how they appear is great (nice big headphones and a visible large microphone that's flexible)

Steelseries 7H at $100 ($50 off) Sorry, this doesn't meet your max price, but I think you are asking for too much at that price. Watch the video on that link to learn about it. It has both normal connection and USB. Considering it is one of their high ends, I assume the mic will be good. The mic is also slim and not bulky, which is one reason why I linked this to you. I obviously haven't tested it, but I really don't think you can get what you are looking for for $60 without it being a cheap product. Hope this wasn't useless, but this may work out great for you and its not on sale forever, so why not show you. I have gone through plenty of mics and now just have a big Blue Yeti on my desk and use senn HD555s which is an expensive and bulky setup. Goodluck!

Yeah, I thought I was, but it doesn't hurt to dream/wish for a sale.
There's no way I'm paying 100$ for a headset though, that's ridiculous in my eyes or perhaps I just don't value gaming and its accessories that high.

Maybe that is what you are looking for. Maybe if you find that on sale it will be in your range.

Still no sale for me though. 100$ is just as too expensive as 150 ;P

A40's with MixAMP. They are far better then my last a Trittons and Siberia v2s.

Sennheiser HD 555's with an attached microphone from anywhere -- Zalman has a good one

SO expensive ):
Is there nothing at 60$?

Just as an example, this is in your price range after a sale & tax(assuming you are picking it up locally and not shipping), and if you read the reviews, some people give it a 1 because it is uncomfortable. However, some people gave it a 5/5 and did not say it was uncomfortable. In my opinion the people rating it a 5/5 are doing so factoring what they expect based on the price. Not all people review like that. Also, 1 guy said it was "really comfy" and sexy. Maybe you would review it like him, I am not sure. Anyways, just wanted to give you this since it is actually in your range when doing an in store pickup.

I'm looking at Platronics for now or I might just eat my foot and get a Turtlebeach.

I used to have a BOSE headset which after about 2 years started to wear out. the "soft" ear covers started to peal and ended up being ruined early for its price. the sound, however, was excellent.
I too got the PC350 and must admit that i am extremely satisfied with them and they have yet to show the first signs of wear after about 2 years of use. the extremely long chord is also very useful, especially if the only headphone jack you have is in the back of you PC.
i can actually wear this headset all day long without any discomfort, which is in my eyes also very important if you are going to play games for long periods of time.
I cant remember the price at the time but it was not very cheap.

I personally use the PC350's they surpass everything in their price range and i have tried Turtle Beach X1's, Astro A40's and Steelseries Siberia V2's they don't even come close. If you are looking for something cheaper i can highly recommend the HD555's they again are better than anything in their price range and are a lot cheaper than PC350's. Due to the release of the PC360 the PC350 have seen a dip in price as well

I don't think he was suggesting them to you.... This is a thread about the best gaming headset, not a headset for max $60 including a microphone.

Oh I know, I think my question has been long overlooked.
I just found this statement really scary: If you are looking for something cheaper i can highly recommend the HD555's they again are better Apparently 200$ is cheaper for him lolol Damn!
