Give me a assassin, or a thief instead!
Writing this just made me realize why they didn't make the usual fantasy roles: it would be to similar to WOW. you know, paladin, thief, warlock... They gave them new names, monk, demon hunter, witch doctor. I have to totaly agree... They bring these new dumb classes in. It's cool that they do that, but keep the old once... The best at D2 were Paladin and Sorciers or how do you spell it,so i will be really sad if Paladin is not added !!!! ya i disagree completely and I had a capped pally and sorc. Last thing we want is a bunch of tardos running around spamming hammers and frozen orbs all day and night again. They kept the barb imo because its so damn 1 dimensional, Smash this, smash that, leap attack, rinse repeat. Wizard is the Sorc essentially the new spells and abilities are much more interesting then the old. Blizzard has had a crazy obsession with paladins and making them STUPID strong in every game they've been in. I think its refreshing to finally NOT have a paladin option. As far as the demon hunter goes I am gonna make one for the arena aspect of diablo3 but I'll roll all the classes. The new ones look fun, and the classic ones i expect to have some changes that really make them unique. If not I cant see myself leveling a barb much further then 40s. I ve been playing Diablo2LoD recently just for fun and I gotta say the one thing I pray they have changed is the way the looting system works. Having to race people to click items on the ground is rather silly and there is no garentee its even useful as you have to identify the items as well. WoW looting system is ok but slows up the game. If there was some sort of balance between the two I'll be much more excited about the PvE aspect of the game.
Yeah, I'm happy there's no paladin anymore. Seriously, duels in D2 against Paladins were ridiculous. I would always die to ridiculous shit. FoH, hammer, charge desync, auradin, templar, you name it.
I'm happy with the wizard because it's basically the sorc. I played a lot of sorcs in D2, and I can se myself liking the wizard class.
And call it PvM, not PvE. We are Diablo players! Do not stoop to the level of WoW. We were around first, and it's goddamn Player vs Monster.

Ah, okay, didn't know that. I just remember that over the four or five years that I played D2, I had never once heard it called PvE, and I first heard the term PvE when my friends were talking about WoW. So now I associate the two accordingly.

Yeah it's actually funny how much of the WoW terminology is not new to WoW. I was in the WoW beta back in 04 or so and everyone was from Everquest/DAoC/Asherons Call/Lineage/etc and using the same MMO terminology as they use now.
I do like Diablo better though and I'm pumped for the new classes. I'm glad they aren't repeating them too much, especially with Paladins.
