He's played like he does for hundreds of games which makes the matchup not a zvt or pvt but a zvgoody or pvgoody. If one guy can mess up your mind with a different style that's him.
Getting matches where the koreans get 97%of the votes make me laugh quite a bit too. In some cases its justified, in others no. Popularity + country flag > analysis of actual skill and gameplay. Goody has trouble with one of the most basic aspects of going mech . . . not getting supply blocked by the bajillion thors that you're making. He has fairly terrible mechanics and multitasking.
I think that Nestea is the clear favorite.

But you have to think, because NesTea has a better chance of getting to the finals, that people are going to vote for NesTea, because in there opinion if they guess NesTea, that can possible garnish them 5 correct match-results, where if they pick GoOdy to win this and then just roll over and die in his next match, that is going to get them less points in the overall bracket.

Hopefully the games won't be as disappointing as Boxer vs nightend where all they do is turtle cause they don't want to risk microing with early game pressure.. I borrowed a friend's korean account and played on their server and it's really not that bad. I didn't feel like there was any additional response time compared to NA servers.

Goo MVP !! Terran blood ftw!

If you don't follow the Starcraft scene intimately, then you vote for who you've heard of and assume they are better. That's pretty true, I just assumed people here did follow stuff closely.
Actually, my brother had qxc to win in his bracket because he didn't know Genius either. Guess I can't blame casual viewers on picking qxc, he definitely shows up more than Genius.

I have Nestea winning against goody, but losing in the Ro16. Just because you pick a player to win a match, doesn't mean you think he's winning the tourney.

Goody over Nestea? Really? I like goody, but nestea can abuse mutalisks as good or even better then idra, which is the bane of mech builds. Ret vs Naniwa is going to be an amazing series
|
My head is going to explode if Goody really wins over Nestea. His mechanics are horrible for a progamer and if Nestea realizes that the guy usually has sub-100 apm he can just run circles around him.

you were can i watch this tournament?

hmm even though NesTea said he had no information on Goody, he ALSO said that one of his biggest strength's was the preparation he puts into each game, he say's he cant play as much because he's older but that means he has more time to analyze... I'm sure he's fully aware of Goody's style by now.
Seems like Koreans are really whining about the latency though, and considering how insanely good their internet is over there, its probably a legitimate handicap, and that could really hurt him..

I really don't think NesTea will lose to Goody. Having a different style might catch you off-guard for one game, but NesTea is known for scouting and inferring what his opponent is doing very wll from the information he receives. He'll know that some really different style is in play, and he'll be able to win. APM isn't everything, but there's a clear difference when someone whose apm is in the low 100s (I read this somewhere, correct me if I'm wrong) plays against a GSL champion. He simply won't have the multitasking to keep up with NesTea.

so looking forward to naniwa vs ret! Hopefully gonna be an awesome series, 3games and in the end Ret pulling out the win
Besides that im really curious about MVP vs Adelscott, might be an upset, who knows!

I Voted for Goody too! ^.^ As much as I think Nestea is good, I think he hasn't been preforming very well either. So never know, he may be behind the times now.
|
I can't wait, I was one of those 144 who picked Adelscott because MVP has been failing in TvP recently. Adelscott hwaiting!
|
Ret versus Naniwa should be an unbelievable series. I'm predicting Ret takes it with a dramatic every-base-mined-out macro game.
|
Here's to MVP, Genius (easiest call of my life), NesTea, and whoever wins the fourth set (such a difficult call: both NaNiwa and ret are so competitive). Good luc, guys!
|
I love TSL. Saturdays and Sundays of joy.
I hope Goody puts up nice games but that Nestea wins.
|
Can't wait to see these Korea v EU matches!
Also, I spent a few minutes on the front page hovering over the news to make Mvp and Goody meld into one person.

They are exagerating a lot and blame it far too much on lag. It is also usually the whiners who post the most and the only comments that you can actually take serious admit that the Europeans played very good. Jinro's loss did not come because of lag and I think neither did FD's (or Huk's).
