And how typically vulgarity within any creative work is stylistic but never touted as a precedent? Opening itself to criticism for it? Think about all the people who don't like rap probably because of this. (and even within hiphop communities there are vocal critics of popular use of "nigga?"). Believing in analogies like this in combination with confirmation bias is why anti-intellectualism persists..

Now that he's a more public figure and a caster for EG, they scream about how they're SO offended by the use of the N-word. Bullshit, they don't give a crap that he used the N-word, he's just a victim of the reddit drama queens. I hate the term, "white knight" The insult exists only because assholes want to justify their and other assholes' actions. Why can't it be that some people are actually offended by an extremely inflammatory word?

The further accusation of him "trying to cover it up", I have no idea if it's true, but seriously if it was true - it's also not that shocking. Orb has a history of being very vulnerable to personal accusations, to the point that he really becomes extremely defensive and loses his calm. Above all, Orb is the best single (non-tandem) SC2 caster in the world; his style of casting is very polished and professional, his understanding of the game and in-depth analysis is at the level of only Artosis and active progamers. He is a very intelligent person, with the odd flip-side that he can be verbally offensive on ladder. That part about him is not new, he's always been famous about it, and people have been teasing him about it since beta. It complements perfectly his otherwise highly professional behavior, and frankly is just a personal matter of his, and shouldn't be for the public to control. Excellent post! Sums everything up very nicely I'd say.

I hope you realize that "faggot" is just as unacceptable as "nigger," as are phrases telling the person on the other end they're worthless shits and deserve to die. Not to mention his BM of Cruncher and statements about his weight, which many people here (probably pitchforking orb even in this thread) laughed at. And IdrA did all this while on EG's roster, and they haven't kicked him. Randomly, I really hope it wasn't this drama that crashed TL for a couple minutes there ... :/

Please please please explain to me how this would affect anyone in real life. People get angry and then they say things to express it. That's it. Nothing more. If you're letting something as stupid as this keep you from enjoying the game and its community, you live a sad life and I hope you get your priorities in order. Because you can't let people say whatever they want when they represent sponsors and are viewed by thousands of eyes, there are plenty of black people that get upset at a negative use of the word nigger and PLENTY of gay people who will get upset when people use the word faggot, this stuff isn't accepted on main stream television and if esports is to grow it can't be accepted when said by growing pillars of the community.

He was put in a professional position and lied to EG about his raging past. It is a public matter when the public knows about it. It would be the same as if a newscaster did the same thing and it was filmed at a bar or public event. It may have not been for the world to see but the world did see it and he will be punished accordingly.

oh noooo!! somebody said "nigger" and "faggot" in a game! Who cares, racial and homophobic slurs are a part of everyday life. Seriously this community is dramatizes so many things. Destiny uses "nigger" on stream all the time, yet I don't see people constantly new threads to disparage him. EG and their disciplinary action is another story altogether. Please don't give me that bullshit about "killing Esports" also, most people hate/don't listen to Orb anyways.
