I don't know either, but he is near Myrcella though. But it is indeed him, fits the description. Well found! http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Gerold_Dayne

Plus if it were to be released within the year, i think it would already be announced already. the exact release date of ADwD was known ~ 1 year before afair
Let me elaborate, he said he cannot write when he has "some other stuff" going on, and since i follow his blog he's on the road and on flight 24/7, and all his side projects got tons of attention. He doesnt use a laptop, and he doesnt use notebooks, he has a typing machine back home, and that s the only instrument he uses for writing the asoiaf novels, as far as we know.

Actually, the publisher for Martins Book (accidently?) got leaked that tWoW was set to release 2015, but i haven't been able to find it myself, how sick would that be? 2015!!!!!!!
But let's just pretend it comes out 2017, and be pleasantly suprised if it comes before

To be honest I had no idea of Darkstar's weird hair, I only remember him as the tryhard dude that is "of the night" and thinks he is badass just because Arthur Dayne was a badass.

I am already expecting 2017 (dunno why I put 15). I believe I read somewhere that in 2012 he had 450 pages done. Think we've got a long wait.
|
Is this really a debate?
His publisher says he's only submitted 168 pages so far. GRRM himself says he's only completed 400-500 pages in the last two years, and that half of those aren't even finalized yet. (Also worth noting that 100 pages were leftovers that he cut from the previous book.) His publisher says TWOW is still "years away". GRRM says TWOW will be around 1,500 pages. At his current rate of about 250 pages per year we're looking at a 2018 release.
I think expecting anything before 2017 is being extremely optimistic.

Honestly, I doubt hell finish the series, and even if he does I get the feeling the next two books are gonna be a huuuuge letdown. AFFC was a chore and ADWD beside some chapters was just a tad better, both books have like double the pages they should.
|
To be honest I think the same thing. It takes him about 7 years to write a book at least and the last 2 are supposed to be bigger then the previous ones.
I hope he finishes, but I imagine if he does finish that'll be in 15+ years.

How credible is the theory that Varys put Shae in Tywin's bed to create rage in Tyrion so that he would kill Tywin, without Tywin knowing that she was ever there? It's been mentioned in a podcast I listen to, it's the first time I hear of it. Apparently it's based on the answers Tywin gives about Shae in both the show and the books.
