White Lotus have become glorified bodyguards. Lol that's what we said.
I always thought the White Lotus went into hiding during the hundred year war.

We still don't know the extent of Zaheer's plans as he never said what he wants to do with adult Korra.

I liked the episode, though I guess I was wrong when I thought Korra got less hot-headed. Seems like Zaheer's power even before he got airbending was a spiritual power, a lot like Jinora. He seems far more comfortable in the spirit world than Korra does. Also, people seem to be pretty dismissive of all the little spirits running around (why don't Ba Sing Se / Zaufu have spirits? weird); seems like Zaheer might become a catalyst to another human vs spirit war? Zaheer's motivation is similar to Amon's in that they're trying to throw off oppression (much like Aang in AtLA!) It doesn't seem totally unreasonable, though wanting anarchy seems kinda overboard. I guess it's a bit different because the "ruling class / government" is very small compared to, say, "benders" or "the Fire Nation," so I wonder if Zaheer is willing to just kill off all the rulers or something (whereas Aang didn't want to kill off an entire country, and even Amon only wanted to remove bending rather than kill the significant percentage of the population that has bending). But if Zaheer and co. hate government so much, why didn't they kill off Tonraq and Zuko and Eska/Desna in the Northern Water Tribe? Pai Sho was super interesting; it seemed to be very similar to what Nick put up on their website, though I think the squares on the board were rotated 45 degrees from the version on the site? Makes sense that there are lots of regional variations though, because I'm pretty sure AtLA Pai Sho was fairly different. The twist at the end of the episode was actually pretty surprising for me, though maybe more obvious in hindsight due to the bending used.

As far as spirits in Ba Sing Se go, the Earth Queen hates animals and it wouldn't surprise me if she had something to do with them not being there.

Which is just a big damn shame, given the horrible scheduling done by Nickelodeon... Totally not owning up to the quality delivered by the show. Zaheer's motivations, albeit a little cliché and already done (but really, what hasn't been done in terms of villains at this point?) stand on their own as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait to see what happens next. Also, I'm pretty sure the Truthseer is dead, right? His soul is stuck in the Spirit World, so now his body will just starve and he'll die.

He isn't dead per-se, but if his spirit doesn't return to his body soon (within a day or two) then he will die due to starvation/dehydration. We know you can get out of it (conquer your darkest fear) but it took Tenzin getting thrown into it to figure it out, so I doubt many others will figure it out in the given timeframe.

Kinda like the Equalists from season one, they're less of the cliche "obtain ultimate power and take over the world!" from season two, or the run-of-the-mill tyrannical emperor from TLA.

But I don't think it's like bloodbending. This can probably be done by every airbender, at any time (Bloodbending needs full moon, or a really strong bender to do it without a full moon). Maybe it's good that airbenders are so peaceful.

But good god, Zahir's voice. Does anyone else think he has a terrible, terrible voice actor? I can't stand listening to him speak.

The only reason the earth queen couldn't do shit about what was happening is she has no bending. A normal bender could have gotten out of that by either attacking zaheer or blasting the wind away. I can't believe they actually did that and nick let them lol. On August 08 2014 03:42 soon.Cloak wrote: I think this season is excellent, including the plot, the fight scenes, etc...
