It's sometimes nice to play alone, you get to listen to more of the storyline and take it at your own pace. However its not that hard to find people to play with, you just make your game public and open and people will hop in and play with you, just be wary about loot drops since they might just steal stuff and leave. I guess some of the people on here will play with you too if you ask nicely enough.
This. I did my first and second playthrough alone and its very enjoyable if you're a 'story' person because its paced to your standard. BUT after that, farming better items gets really boring alone.

Not to mention the post-game bosses are very, very difficult to solo without using loot that they drop.
Well Siren takes a hell of a lot longer to get to 50 then everyone else. She's lots of fun but very tough and when you switch to a Gunzerker off the bat he is OP awesome.

yeah you can just hop on to open coop gaming. note however, that, for whatever reason, duping items and stuff like that is widely accepted in this games community, so if you dont like playing like that you might want to find people to group up with.
I ragequit my "True Vault Hunter" siren playthrough because after doing all of the sidequests for the first 5-6 areas then skipping most of them, I'm now 4-5 levels behind all the enemies on the main quest and I don't wanna waste time repeating sidequests I've done several times on other characters now.

Yeah solo at 50 is insanely stupid too. I quit her once I got cap and am glad to not be dieing all the time now. She needs to be buffed when they add levels in future content.

I went action skill build, so I can destroy pretty much anything when it's up, I just find myself hiding until it comes of CD, popping someone, then hiding again. I honestly don't think her gun talents are good enough to skill most of them.
Doesn't really make a difference though, I'm on "Where Angels Fear to Tread" and the JET loaders 1 shot me with 1 missile barrage and it's really hard to keep track of where they're coming from with all the allied fliers in the area.
you need a better shield if you're getting 1 shot i played siren all the game and she is extremely good, your action skill with cataclysm tree does so much damage it's amazing

I play it as well and solo against bosses cataclysm feels pretty bad imo
getting one shoot means you need to farm for a better shield
Admittedly I finished my Siren before the Bee nerf, but I didn't have that many issues going through PT2 with a Bee from PT1 as long as I kept my SMG, sniper rifle, and rocket launcher upgraded. It sucks that Wreck is dependent on an active phaselock when you can't phaselock bosses, but I like most of her other skills, and you can spec her very tanky if you want. I favored eridian SMGs in particular while leveling, usually corrosive.

Getting one shot by things 5 levels above me, shield ain't gonna save me. Using The Transformer at the moment, absorb doesn't help against missiles.
I fell like Cataclysm is the only possible tree for soloing as the healing tree is obviously useless without someone to heal and the other tree seems to be great CC but no real damage modifications worth a damn.

I finished the game on true vault hunter mode as cataclysm, but sirens are weak against bosses when playing alone. extremely strong when playing with others. if you are 5 levels below just go back abit and kill things, levels go pretty fast anyway.

Mind control is a free win against any non-boss type encounter as long as you are willing to play it slow. Worst case scenario you just hide around and let MCs do some damage while getting slaughtered by the other mobs. Works particularly well in conjunction with goliaths.
I agree though that the Siren's ineptitude against bosses is hugely annoying. If they would just let phaselock be "active" for the purposes of other talents even on targets it does not put it's effect(s) on rather than being a useless sized hit of damage that would about solve it.

Well yeah, but to GET mind control you have to take a ton of skills that do nothing for your damage, so you're even more Phaselock dependent than a cataclysm spec. I decided to play around a bit more, hit lynchwood and completed all of the quests there (except the skaag momma) for 1 1/3 levels. *sigh* At least I upgraded my rocket launcher (over 100k damage ftw) and my sniper rifle (though it is a Tediore...which sucks...).
If you're 5 levels under enemis and getting 1 shot, don't blame the class lol. cataclysm tree still slag bosses so you get hudge dps increase keep your level balanced to the enemis and intentionally leave some weak enemys alive for second winds vs bosses. if you're soloing second winds is like half the fight, so always keep a hight accuracy weapon with good magazine size or a rocket launcher loaded to get those like the only very hard part in this game is solo vs terramorphus without a bee, cause the fucker keeps sending you flying from the stage.

When did I blame the class? I blamed having to do boring sidequests for the 4th time since I leveled another character to 25 with a friend and a 3rd by myself.
I did level up and finally beat the BNK3R after shooting him for 20 minutes, as the boss goes.

You have to really careful with how you use the siren in order to be effective. I've found playing through missions and such, you really need Ruin and Converge, maybe with a point or two in Sweet Release for healing. Her crowd control is unparalleled if you spec her that way. For soloing raid bosses, you still need Ruin (for slag's insane DPS), and Quicken to make sure the bosses stay slagged 100% of the time. Playing with anyone else, respec as a healer with Res. Being able to instantly revive people across the arena is stupidly OP.
After the pre-release hype about the size and scope of the DLC, I think a lot of people aren't really expecting much out of the next one, but I'm pretty excited for it. Summarized information about guns, skins, quests, etc., here: http://orcz.com/Borderlands_2:_Sir_Hammerlocks_Big_Game_Hunt (potential spoilers)
20-minute gameplay walkthrough of the beginning (definitely spoilers):
Not sure I buy the "really challenging" aspect part, but the witch doctors look kind of annoying. My friends and I are restarting our moribund farming efforts to build up a seraph crystal bank for the Hawk Eye sniper and damage relic. I'll probably play mechro; 600 stacks of anarchy is too good for a one-sitting DLC playthrough.
And the most interesting information from that 20-minute video...Gearbox is looking at "Q1 of next year" for a level cap increase.
I only bought the Captain Scarlett DLC (for 4.95€) and don't think I will buy another one. I paid now ~33€ for 46hrs of gameplay. Thats pretty bad compared to like Fallout New Vegas (3.75€ for 72hrs). Borderlands 2 is probably the only regret of the year. Playing through the story first time was fun but after that I had to force me to play. The New Game+ Mode is like a job. Mods do insane Damage and you already know the Story/Quests. My Assault is now Level48, but it really not that much fun. I can't see myself farming Raidbosses at Maxlevel.
The Pre-Release PR was just too good. That made me buy it at Release.
