I can't believe players have the guts to do some of the stuff they are doing. You know why they have the guts? Cause Shanahan will only give them a game or two no big deal. They really need to implement tougher suspensions on players because as you can see, nobody gives a shit about the consequences.
I'm not sure "guts" would be the word I'd describe for what Asham did. Guts implies courage. It doesn't take guts to jam your stick into the throat of someone who didn't strike you and didn't defend himself, and it doesn't take guts to punch someone in the back in the head when they're face is planted on the ice.
Audacity? That's the best word I can come up with.
Crosby scored the biggest goal for Canada in a generation, has won a Stanley Cup, pretty sure he's the best player in the game right now. Playing against Philly isn't an easy team to stay calm against, especially going down 3 - 0.
Crosby is an idiot getting involved in all this after whistle stuff... one good punch in teh head and 16 months of recovery time is shot to tell.
in this opening round i wonder how many actual concussions occurred versus how many are reported lol. just like any other opening NHL playoff round though.
Animosity in Flyers/Pens game could definitely have been directed better by the players. Those Penguins cheap shots were just ridiculous though, childish stuff. And as much as I cannot ever cheer for Crosby, I was happy that the best player in the league would be coming back from injury. The guy at this point should be over all that weight of expectations stuff. If he just played his damned game I could respect him, but he's been living up to all those negative things levied against him. Maybe he'll just never be cool, and he can't deal with that.
The thing is he's always been that way. He just has the skill to back it up as well.
When he came back it looked like he didn't miss a beat. The guy has a knack for creating chances and putting the puck in the net.
His whole attitude won't change. In game 3 he definitely took more liberties though and I think that has more to do with frustration more than anything else.
Why are you people bitching about Crosby so much? Because his teammate defended him that one time (which he didn't ask for)? He fought Giroux. What more do you want?
Oh come on, he sucker punched Giroux once the linesmen stepped in and he knew he wasn't in danger of being hit back. People are bitching because he's childish, crys to the refs, and (most importantly) isn't on the team they cheer for. He's a great talent, no doubt, but he's also a bitch, lol.
