Hell yes ND! If they're not number one this week, there's something extremely wrong with the coaches. All year, they've had a lack of respect from everyone, and now, people have no choice but to give them that respect.

No kidding. Oregon finally plays a top 20 defense, and loses. It seems that they lose every time they play a team that can slow them down offensively. I can't recall them beating a top defense over the last four years or so.

Oh come on. Maryland and Rutgers? I don't mind expanding teams but this isn't even close to "Big Ten Country."
The University of Maryland is in serious negotiations to join the Big Ten Conference, sources told ESPN on Saturday.
If Maryland goes from the ACC to the Big Ten, Rutgers of the Big East is expected to follow suit. The addition of Maryland and Rutgers would give the Big Ten 14 members as the league gears toward negotiations on a new media rights deal when its first-tier rights expire in 2017.
No date has been set for a potential announcement, though it could come as soon as Monday. The Maryland board of regents will meet at 9 a.m. Monday morning to decide on the move, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN.com Sunday morning.

I don't get why Maryland wants to leave the ACC, or even why the Big10 wants them. They are a mid-tier football/basketball school in the ACC. Also, Maryland just had to cut a ton of sports programs due to budget issues. How do the increased travel costs help at all?

Also, Johnny Football Manziel is the heisman frontrunner now! I would be pretty surprised if ND loses to a southern cal team that has a shit defense and no matt barkley.
Idk, I could still see ND losing to USC. I mean, without Barkley it won't be likely, but still a significant possibility. USC hasn't really had a bad loss this season, they've all come against good teams. Its also a home game for USC, and I imagine the team will be fired up and out for redemption.

At least Oregon lost to a great team in overtime. They can still get into the title game with some luck.
'Bama also lost to a now-top 10 aTm, so it's no wonder they're already back in second.
But K-State got clobbered by an unranked team. Seems hopeless for them.
And Georgia lost by a bazzillion to SC, who outside that game never looks great and struggles with Wofford. But if they win the SEC they're in regardless.
Florida? Hmm... Great defense, bad offense. Even the pollsters don't like them.
All I'm saying is that we have a long ways to go still. Still 2 more weeks to fuck everything up again.
And poor Stanford, barely losing to UW and the Irish. What might have been?

That's probably true, but fuck that.
If you lose a game by four touchdowns, you don't deserve to be in the NCG.
The 2003 Sooners certainly shouldn't have been there.

That's an even better example considering that an Oregon team that lost to Stanford by 1 score was left out of the NCG that year. Though that Oregon team did win the conference.

Man that computer hates us. In the two human polls we're ranked 5th/6th and in front of the two loss teams. In the BCS? 10th behind three teams with two losses each.
Someone play the worlds smallest violin for me.

It might not be their fault that the ACC stinks, but when you schedule Murray St, Savannah St, and then lose to a 5-loss team (NC-State), you really don't have a leg to stand on. I'm sorry!

Meanwhile, the preseason #1 USC is now unranked. What a senior season Matt Barkley is having!

Bet he wishes he went to the NFL now
Jake Locker had a bad senior season after skipping the NFL draft too didn't he? Pac-12 QBs with a ton of stock need to just go to the NFL and take the paycheck.

Who goes to sec championship if bama loses to auburn? a&m, lsu, bama
|
On November 19 2012 16:39 thuracine wrote: Who goes to sec championship if bama loses to auburn? a&m, lsu, bama That shouldn't happen, but if it does, then I believe the rule is you take the 2 highest BCS ranked teams and whoever won the head to head goes. So it depends on how much Alabama falls. If they fall below A&M, LSU goes, if they fall above A&M, Alabama still goes. (All assuming both LSU and A&M win their last game)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEC_Championship_Game#Three_or_more-team_procedure
+ Show Spoiler +Three or more-team procedure
1. (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
2. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
3. Record of the tied teams within the division.
4. Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
5. Complete record vs. non-division teams.
6. Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
7. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
8. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.
Assuming LSU and A&M win (which they will):
If number 4 means what I think it means, that they take the record against the SEC West (I can't really tell; it's written in a confusing manner), that would mean Alabama would be eliminated, which brings it to a tie between LSU and A&M, which gives LSU the edge since they beat A&M head to head.
If I'm completely wrong on that and it goes to number 5, Alabama wins because they won all their games against the SEC East, while LSU and A&M both lost to Florida.

My complaints are also moot because by the end of the season only one Florida team can stay in the top ten so it'll be resolved one way or another. I'm just still grumpy that WVU crapped out on us and said they couldn't fit us in their schedule. That's why we paid Savannah St to play us in week 2. We paid them the exact amount WVU paid us for canceling our matchup. Now WVU is unranked and our schedule lost one of the two NCO games we need to play every year to compensate for the easier ACC schedule games.
Next weekend though! Make or break for the first season we've had something to really smile about in .. longer than I want to admit.
