I really hope the Bulls aren't pressuring him to play. In fact they should just shut him down and end all the scuttlebutt about his return. At this point he's at no risk to reinjure his knee, so if he played it wouldn't jeopardize his future. I get what you're saying, but theoretically he's a possibility of re-tearing his ACL as soon as he steps on a court. I guess I really just don't see any justification for Rose playing this year. He hasn't played a game in nearly a year now and I doubt how effective he'd even be if he came back. Get a good off-season behind him and go hard in 13/14. I don't see much opportunity for the Bulls in Rose playing this year.

K Love grew up on the West Coast and went to college at UCLA. I don't think he's ever shied away from the fact he'd like to go back.

I don't see much opportunity for the Bulls in Rose playing this year. The thing is that physically he's in no more danger of re-tearing his ACL than any other player is of tearing it the first time, based on everything I've read about the injury. I guess in Feb it made more sense because he could get in good playing shape, but even now I don't see the harm in him playing, if not to try to win at least to get him into some games. Offseason workouts such as the shit he's been doing already isn't a good replacement for actual gametime.
Although there was a video of him dunking off his left leg in pregame warmups so my guess is that at this point he's ready and figures as you do, that there's no point. Although he could be still too nervous to do it in-game, which is what he said he wanted to do before he came back. Maybe like doing it in traffic/under contact was still too scary for him.

I was not aware of this--that's really good to hear. Recurring injuries or chronic afflictions that get worse over time are really depressing to hear about or have to deal with. Every player has a timer on his head until the end of his career, and the kinds of injuries that get progressively and irreversibly worse do not merely take time off the clock but also accelerate its countdown

Yeah, but if they play him in Feb-March, then they'll expect him to play through the playoffs and maybe they don't want to do that just yet.
|
I think Rose is understandably a bit nervous too. It's one thing to ease yourself back in after a pre-season but to come back 1-2 months before the Playoffs would be pretty daunting for him (considering the pressure he'd be under to perform).

edit:looked up his wiki for years

He was always popping up in Entourage to beatdown on Drama.

I assume it's because he played for UCLA and seems to be a guy who would enjoy being in the LA spotlight. He had that funny bit playing Jenga with Blake, and was in the Kyrie "Uncle Drew" bit as well. Plus, I just think the idea of having a guy like D12 next to him would be very attractive since they would appear to compliment each other perfectly on paper.

Not really that surprising. Most dudes on that list don't shoot jumpers at all and rely mostly on layups, oops, and tip-ins for points (jordan/Javale Asik etc.) whereas most guards are going to have at least some kind of midrange/longrange game.

Utah Win + LA Win + GS Win = GS(6), LA(7), HOU(8)
Utah Win + LA Win + GS Loss = GS(6), LA(7), HOU(8)
Utah Win + LA Loss + GS Win = GS(6), HOU(7), UTAH(8)
Utah Win + LA Loss + GS Loss = HOU(6), GS(7), UTAH (8)
Utah Loss + LA Win + GS Win = GS(6), LA(7), HOU(8)
Utah Loss + LA Win + GS Loss = GS(6), LA(7), HOU(8)
Utah Loss + LA Loss + GS Win = GS(6), HOU(7), LA(8)
Utah Loss + LA Loss + GS Loss = HOU(6), GS(7), LA(8)
Is this correct? O.o

GS is two games ahead of LA. LA can't pass them. GS is either finishing 6th or 7th.

Is it possible for Memphis to get home court over Cloppers ?
|
If Memphis wins their last game and Denver or Clips lose the rest, they could get home court advantage.
|
Nah, top 5 in West is settled. Denver owns tie-breaker against Clips and Memphis. LAC can't finish outside of top four due to winning their division. So that leave poor Memphis in 5th regardless of last few games. LAC vs Grizz is locked in for second year in a row.
Edit: No, I'm slightly wrong. Clips and Nuggets can swap 3rd and 4th, but Memphis is locked into 5th. My bad.
|
Damn, sucks.
Of all the teams that Memphis just can't beat we had to get the Cloppers first round. Can't wait for CP to flop his way past us again.
|
I heard/read the memphis players didn't care about having home-court advantage versus the Clippers since they lost to them last season even with homecourt advantage. Still a dumb move if they didn't care imo since "referee bias" for home teams in the playoffs increases but I can now see the mentality behind it if they knew they weren't going to be able to anyways.
I would say Memphis has a fair chance tho GraFx, don't count them out yet ^^. You are right though, imagine how many more calls CP3 will get at home
