Basically more or less everyone is respecting the rules of consensual PvP, while non consensual is a chaos. And it's amazing. Too many people who whine about everything in the DS2 community, "omg I got beat by this build, OP OP NERF", we're back in the first months of SC2 or what. Except versus hackers, playing better is always the answer.
Except if you don't want to play PvP. If i want to play PvP, i play a game that has actually good PvP, like LoL or whatever. DS does not have good PvP. DS has good PvE, and for some reason someone thought that ganking in WoW was so cool that we now need it in singleplayer games too, so you sometimes randomly get killed by some asshole. Or two. Or three, because why not.
I guess i can accept duels and stuff like that, mostly because it doesn't really influence me and i don't really have to have anything to do with that stuff. But invasions etc are just random gankings by people who are prepared for PvP, with a PvP build, while you are prepared for PvE, with a PvE build, and probably currently fighting 1-2 enemies. And if that wasn't enough of an advantage, they also don't even get attacked by enemies, so if you dodge into the wrong direction you now have to deal with another enemy on top of that.
I don't summon people to kill the bosses for me because i don't see the point in that, and i don't see the point in sometimes randomly dying because an asshole though that ganking is sooo cool. In my opinion DS would be a lot better without any of the multiplayer interactions. I guess messages are kind of useful, even though 80% of them are just "illusionary wall here" where there is no illusionary wall around, with 200+ upvotes, probably from people who think that they can't open the wall because of the message and hope to get rid of it that way.

PvP in dark souls is awesome and is part of the story, even in Offline mode in both ds games you are invaded by NPCs because You aren't the only undead trying to be the one who gets to be the king.

You know you can just play the game in offline mode right? Since you don't enjoy the PVP aspect and don't find any particular use for message system, which are basically two of the biggest reasons to play online, why not just turn that off and enjoy it the way you like it?

I actually really dislike the message system because it provides major hints for upcoming traps/tricks other stuff. There are trolls off, but the net result is to constantly remind you to be on high alert and really undermines some of the awesomely dastardly stuff in the level design of both DS1 & 2. It doesn't cost you anything to go check the wall and see if it's fake or not, a constant reminder that some chests are dangerous cancels out the gentle lulling to sleep the game does by having most chests be perfectly safe, with a few just waiting for you to get complacent.
Most of the other interactions are founded in cool ideas (if sometimes strange balancing/execution), but the message system is a pretty regular buzzkill until you've memorized all the funzies to be had.

Hmm, I don't mind the unbalanced nature of bellkeeper / rat dudes because those are optional zones, and I go into them knowing that I'm going to get fucked with. I enjoy the challenge; if I want a "fair fight" I can prep at bridge or wherever.
I also really really like the messages. Without them I would miss so much content, as I prefer to play mostly blind with no wiki, just asking on here a few times and looking up stats of weapons or w.e. I would've certainly attacked the Manscorpian, missed tons of items, missed tactics for dealing with bosses, etc. Even though there are troll messages, I would say that a majority are definitely helpful. Makes the game feel less lonely imo.
Going along with that, I like co-oping with people (them summoning me) because 1. it's fun helping people 2. I sometimes find new content I missed. Example is that medusa like poison boss (forgot name); I didn't know about burning the windmill until I was summoned a guy who proceeded to do that. Makes me feel like I'm "discovering new content" as opposed to just looking it up, even though I suppose that guy probably looked it up,

All of them just sit by mobs so I can't even 1v1 them, I feel like if they are allowed to do that, I should be allowed to EXIT the instance. Let's say "Zone out" Channeled spell for 10 seconds. If a regular Invader sits around mobs he sucks. Show him why by using a seed.
Just the existence of that item alone makes red invasions incredibly balanced compared to DS1.

Even realer men PvP in pools of poison.

Is offline mode still influenced by internet connection? I had to move to a way worse connection for a bit and tried offline to the end result of huge framerate lag. Pretty sure it's not graphics card/overheating issues so idk.

Well despite having horrible keyboard and mouse innate delay (why hasn't this been fixed yet?) I've managed to begin steamrolling this game. Once you get ADP to 20 for some agility it doesn't seem that horrible. 3 Shot the Rotten Boss.
At this point as a Sword+Board character, should I invest in INT+Faith to get a spell or two? I"m aiming toward a buff spell.

don't need to, use bonfire asthetic or if you're in NG+ kill the lost sinner and obtain the old witch's soul, trade that with straid to get flame weapon(buffs weapon with fire), pyromancy doesn't have int/faith requirements.

Ahhhhh thank you, that's what everyone seems to be using at the moment at the Iron Keep. My strategy is full naked and I just run around in circles evading. My lord I'm having too much fun doing this. I had a guy chasing me in loops for 5 minutes before he finally got me.

Are you using the Bino-glitch for speed boosts?

No just running from the one ramp near the entrance of IK to the other one playing ring around the rosey.
