I like the new decals on them though was hoping we'd see a couple of them on the 'old' cars. And the new rocket animations are quite good too. It's ok value for what you get really, after my initial assumption of it being a bit overpriced.

Discovered this games recently, after watching some streams and trying a bit I decided to buy it (my initial plan was to wait for sales but couldn't). I'm an absolute shitter but this game feels really fun. I like the fact the games are short as well, it's less stressful to lose match, it's just for 5mins. Adding my ID to the list !

It will take a while to "die off" and even then will have a dedicated base of players. If you think it's something you might enjoy, I'd jump in now. My interest in Rocket League is slowly starting to dwindle, but I was playing like 3 hours a day and now I play 3-5 matches per day and probably will for the foreseeable future. After 65 hours in the game I feel like my $20 was well-spent, even if I stopped playing tomorrow. It truly is a special experience, and I haven't grouped with another player for a single match in all 65 hours, all solo. I would imagine with friends it's even better.

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ shows that there's around 30k (peak) players a day for Rocket on Steam and that's not counting all the people that play it via PSN who got it for free. Perhaps it'll come to xbox one at some point in the future that would further in crease the player base, but that's wild speculation I suppose, I see more reasons for that not to happen than it happening. Regardless of any of that if you buy it now I'd say you will absolutely get your money's worth out the game even if it dies off within the next couple of months, which I highly doubt given how the steam stats have shown from release to now a steady (increase in) number of players.

Gibbs, Kronovi, TeamRocket, and I think Team Untethered are all streaming their games on Twitch as well, but the shoutcast is kinda fun. It's interesting to see them try to work out how to observe this game... Seems like it would be pretty challenging.

The entire series is worth watching with scrappy, gruff positional play throughout. Both teams were able to disrupt the flow of assists and have aggressive challenging defenses. If you have time for no more, you absolutely must watch game 3(spoilers... The series guys the distance)! 16:16 is the tip off. The games just kept getting better all the way to the end.

The game being fairly new, a skill disparity is to be expected, especially with few players coming from SARPBC. There are also strong players on EU it seems, Paschy90, de Boers, etc, but the ping makes it hard for them to compete in MLG I guess.

The next big MLG RL feature is going to be an EU vs NA showdown featuring the top two or three teams from each region. The previous tournament was MLG piggybacking onthe existing Gamebattles tournament structure and offering prize money to the winners. As with all games it seems, EU has much better, more experienced teams generally. Hopefully we NA boys can close the gap a bit. Maybe the tournament can be hosted on NA to even the playing field. :D While there are issues of ping in between the continental servers, I don't know how they impact gameplay as much as games like csgo where the aim calculations are so minute. Even within the continent, the Psy servers have been experiencing processing issues that trigger massive rubberbanding but no one complained of this issues in the tournament thankfully.

I do still feel some work on the spectator end (either by psyonix or by the casters/observers) is still needed, but it's definitely something that works as an esport from a viewer perspective I'd say. There is one thing Psyonix needs to work on, it's the roulette that's used to select a player perspective. I can understand how it's meant to be easier to use, but having this huge thing pop on the screen is terrible from a viewer perspective.

I suppose with increased experience from casters casting and observing the game they'll start figuring that out and perhaps Psyonix can create a smart way of swapping between camera's.

The casters seemed to be a bit inexperienced; while Cosmic Anarchy had been scoring goals by ramming the goalkeeper throughout the tournament, they didn't mention the tactic until midway through the finals, and only noticed because that particular ramming resulted in a demolition.

I for one am pretty excited to see what they bring to the table and how they choose to display the games. Personally I feel like casting the games with KB/M is MUCH much easier than the dual thumbpad nonsense (sorry... my master race streak is showing). The angles and run along shots you can create seem much easier to say nothing of the beauty of keybinds for quick camera changes. In related GO4RL news, TeamRocket was upset in their first round of today's Go4RL EU tournament by up-and-coming German team Supersonic Avengers. Crazy for such an early upset so early in the bracket! Paschy's team, Team Famous found streaming on Paschy's stream is still competing and climbing. They may hit the other big team soon, Team Weamy, and it's main player M1k3Rules. Here's the live bracket. Edit: There's a new community shoutcaster trying to snag as many games as he can, Shalthis. Check out his stream as he's about to cast Weamy versus Supersonic Avengers. Don't know how long his voice is going to last.... showing signs of strain already.

The games themselves with Cosmic Aftershock was pretty boring most of it was just stomping other teams. The other games were much closer and way more interesting to watch. Hope we get a lot more teams of CA's level soon. Psyonix is aware of the selection wheel being annoying and is working on it, it seems. https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeague/comments/3ht4jn/wtf_did_just_happen_at_the_mlg_finals_kou_vs_ca/cuabl3e
