Apparently Halo wars is super dead on PC, but really active on Xbox One. Not to say theres anything against the game, but requiring Windows 10 is a big burden, but needing to through the Windows store on top of that is just silly.

There is no game publisher in their right mind that would put a Windows-10-only restriction on their PC game unless their primary business is selling copies of Windows 10.

However, speaking of people I feel bad for, I hope they don't fuck over their customers by making WIndows store and Steam have different matchmaking, especially with the microtransactions of Blitz mode.

The point of sale has little to do with overal performance. If the PC performance of a ported console game is terrible, it means that the port is a bad one. There is no reason why the steam edition of Halo Wars 2 would perform better than its windows store counterpart.

Like if you made a 10/10 game but it didn't matter because it barely sold on PC because you were stuck on the windows store.

Another game which was initially windows store and was later ported to steam was Quantum Break. Game ran better on steam and DX11. The point of sale has little to do with overal performance.
