@zeitgeisters : LOL SRLSY? How can u possibly think that movie is accurate at ANY level. Go to college/uni guize.
@Americans : I would like to say how you people fucked up BIG TIME. You emerged "victorious" from the Cold War (It was not a war and certainly it was not COLD EITHER), you had no opposition in the ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM and you blew it wasting your time on petty conflicts and arguments. Instead of Leading the World into an "American Pax", that could have lasted for centuries, the entire American People showed us, American society was not up to the challenge, and basically Fucked up their Rule in 15 Years. The standart of living was not boosted, unnecesary wars were mongered, and the Economy was left unchecked (The only thing Clinton did right). 20 years later we can say AMERICA has lost the success train into a better world.
My 2 cents.
PS : The only way i find to revert this, is to rethink what American core values really mean.
If only we would have listened to Antigua/Barbuda! When will we LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know! They run their ISLAND so much better! :D:D:D

Shut the fuck up about racism, darn it! Shut the fuck up! Racism is when blacks were forced to sit in the backs of buses, forced to drink from "colored" waterfountains and eat at "colored" restaurants. Racism is when the Irish came over here and were treated like trash. That's fucking racism. Get it straight, dammit for God's sake!
This cry of racism every time someone says something that you don't fucking like is disgusting. Like when Juan Williams (who is black, liberal, and a civil rights activist) was fired from NPR because he said he feels uncomfortable near someone wearing Muslim garb on a plane! Someone says something you dislike and you cry out "racism".
Yeah, Racism against asians is acceptable I guess? Is that the point your trying to make
Dude, the video basically tries to embed in your mind that Chinese people are laughing at our failure and that they're now our "Boss". I agree with you that the hypocrisy of those playing the race card is quite sickening. It's okay for a black person to say "Cracker" "Gook" etc. on TV or Radio, but it isn't okay for any other race to say anything like that at all. (Just one example don't get me started). At the same time however, I believe that racism is wrong and painting a picture of Chinese as people that laugh at our misfortune and gloat at being our overlords is pretty racist.
Just think of how you would feel if you were in China for business or vacation and you saw a commercial that painted a picture of Americans as lazy, hatemongering bullies.
Racism isn't 'hate'. Racism is the belief that there are human races. That certain superficial ethical differences like skin tone, slanted eyes, eye/hair colour, etc determine other human traits. Be it physical or mental.
I don't know what the racist stereotype here is. Brooding evil Chinese plotting against the US? It just happens to be the case that China holds a lot of US debt and that almost all Chinese have an asian ethnic look.
Saying asians are good at math is racist, even if it is true. Even if it is true because of genes.

Not sure how that is hypocrisy... You think white people using the n-word and black people saying "cracker" is the same thing? No one is capable of believing that... right?

I think his point was more that people hold the two on different levels because they think black people should be held in a special place in terms of speech and whites deserve any and all attacks/criticism. At least that's my opinion.

Whites attacking Blacks on the basis of race has a lot of history, but does that give Black people the right to call me a "gook" or "slant" or to tell me to go back to China just because they went through some shit. (I'm not even Chinese, just saying though). I feel like certain ethnic groups are held to a different standard and it's not right.
Secondly black people did invent slavery. Many of the first empires were in Africa (Egypt, Nubia) and they were the first ancient civilization to enslave others to live more comfortably. They especially believed Europeans(Assyrians I think they were called in Ancient Egypt) were inferior to them. One text I read said something about them being red (due to sunburn) and hairy like beasts. So I feel like black peoples struggles came from karma; they were previously treated the same way for a period of time by the same people they reserved a special discrimination for. We could get into it all day about whether Egyptians were Black or Mixed but I think they were black or at least mostly black rather than todays modern "arab washed" Northern Africans. The word they used to describe themselves Kehmet or "KMT" means Black. So Yeah.. Also the statues of the original Egyptians seemed to have a very Black look to them.
Check out this Youtube video from "BlackNationForums"
Is it right for Blacks to openly and unashamedly claim that Whitey is the devil?
A lot of people suffered at the hands of other races. Do you see Chinese people hating Whites even though they have a history of war and conflict (Think Railroads, Opium Wars etc.) Does that give them the right do be racist back? Or does that only continue the circle of hatred?

My grandmother believes everything she reads / sees on the internet. There's no talking her out of it. If she saw an ad like this, she'd believe it. That's what the creator of this ad was going for.
Also, whoever says this is racist needs a good punch in the mouth. Apparently everything is racist. "Oh? You don't want illegal immigrants in your country? RACIST!" "Don't like the new health care bill? Think Obama is doing a terrible job as president? RACIST!" As a straight white male I'm offended by the overuse of the words: Hate Crime, Racism, Discrimination, and Affirmative Action.
it's more stereotyping then racist
imagine if the commercial was targeting the chinese audience and you were chinese but the speakers in the commercial were american and there was a poster of a mcdonalds and the speaker was a fat overweight guy.
I would say it's neither. I've already made a few posts about why it's NOT racist, but I'd argue it's not stereotyping either. There is no peculiarity of behavior that characterizes the professor or the students. They're not wearing traditional garb. They're not wearing top knots and they're not eating fried rice or speaking broken english.
It is not a ridicule but an attempt at pseudorealism. There is, when you watch the commercial, at least a vague understanding that this scenario COULD happen.
The key points, I think, that paint the image negatively are: 1.) The Mao in the background, indicating that China has not by 2030, moved further away from its radical revolutionary roots. 2.) The maniacal laughter.
Maniacal laughter is not stereotypical, and the Mao insignia is not racist or stereotypical, but political.
Again, I'm not saying I agree with what the ad is advocating, but I again would like to point out that it is a very well-made ad. It plays on psychology in subtle but effective ways.
Lmao what is funny is a bunch of middle class old white folks are shitting their diapers right now and can't wait to vote Republican after watching that ad

Yeah, Maybe it's not racist in of itself.. But it causes negative feelings towards those of chinese descent, which can (read most likely) lead to racism.
Edit: It doesn't really matter though I doubt any smart people will take it as anything other than hate mongering. But I have to say again.. How would you feel if you were a white person living in China and you saw an ad claiming that the United States had the negative intentions of making China their "underlings" and was laughing at Chinas failures?

They especially believed Europeans(Assyrians I think they were called in Ancient Egypt) were inferior to them.
Assyria was in Mesopotamia. :|
Well if they didn't invent it, (which is debatable as Africans were the first humans and as you said it predates historical records,.. but not the point of the argument) they were definitely guilty of slavery at one point or another.
You don't think there are "White" people in what is now Mesopotamia? I've met a lot of people from the Middle East that look more "Anglo" than most Italians and Greeks. I'm not a history professor, but I think the Egyptians generally used the term Assyrians to describe anyone from that area around the Caucus Mountains.. Oh wait isnt that in Mesopotamia?
EDIT: anyways this is getting way way off subject.

oh ffs.
The Caucasus Mountains are north of Mesopotamia.
Google it.
They are also a part of it.
Again there are a lot of people we would consider "White" today in what is now Mesopotamia.
2nd Edit: This is stupid.. I'm done with this thread.. You're right Okay, The Caucus Mountains aren't near Mesopotamia and there's no one remotely close to "caucasian" living there today or ever.. You Win! Cya!
