Hey, its gonna get removed soon probably but still, how do you guys micro tankivacs? Besides the 1 or 2 tankivac noob harass I never really use them in my main army since Im to stupid to micro it decently.
The way I do it atm cant be good...I hotkey my medivacs, then shiftclick on my tanks and press boost. That way all the medivacs though fly from tank to tank until all are picked up. Also Im having trouble dropping them. I know two ways to do it maybe theres a more efficient one. The ones I know is press release hotkey then somewhere on the map, it drops all at one area. Sucks. Second way is clicking the drop hotkey then rightclick on a single medivac + repeat which is slightly better, but still very time consuming and in the meantime Im not microing my bio army.
Is there a better way for each? Thank you!

Those are the two ways of doing it and I'm sorry to say there isn't an easier way. You just have to practice to get faster at clicking on each one and improve your mouse speed/accuracy if you wanna do it smoothly like the pros do
|
I have a horrible habit of always clicking the select all army button as zerg. I've unbounded it, but I still click on the actually on screen button with my mouse instead of hot-keying my army. I feel like I could learn better if I was able to completely remove the "select all army" option altogether. Is there any way to do this? And if not whats the best way to get the habit of hotkeying armies? I'm trying egg hot-keying but it's just not working for me too well :/

There are multiple way to hotkey army. For what I saw most commonly used are either hotkeying eggs, or hotkeying at your rally point. -Eggs allow you to have everything set in the right control group all the time. -Letting units going to the rally point with no hotkey is usually favoured when playing aggressively (so you don't have flying muta flying over the enemy base to join you main group typically).
To train in that direction, as for many other aspect, I would suggest you to set a goal, with success and failure conditions. In case of failure, you need a penalty. Then you play following those rules for a few games each session (depending on you usual play rate). For example, if you chose to use the egg hotkeying, you could say 'I have to hotkey all eggs during my games'. Failure if units are not hotkeyd before hatching. Result : move command said units to the enemy. Success if no failure for 3 games in a row.
Note that there is no requirement for you to actually win the game to success. You can train this in CG, rank or unranked, not to have the pressure of losing the game. The goal is to focus ONLY on this aspect. A few games latter you will have automatised it.

How many drones do you need to defend against 1-base allin in ZvP? How many drones must be on gases?
Like against two-base allin in ZvP i need 3 hatcheries, 42 drones, 10 of them on gases. Also i need some 1 tier tech, like roach warren or bainling nest. So what about defending 1-base allin?
|
That depends on what attack you're facing. I wouldn't go much further than 1.5 base saturation on minerals and 1 gas but without a more concise question I don't feel confident giving a more concise answer.
For example if you are being cannon rushed countering with a nydus (full 1 base saturation and both gasses in main) is perfectly normal. But that might not be the answer to another.

I am platinum zerg, should I be drone scouting and if so on what supply? I have not been drone scouting and losing to a bunch of all ins.

In ZvZ you just need to send your first overlords on the path to his base to see if hes going agressive or not. In other matchups you can scout with your 14th drone if you don't feel confident.
A popular and effective way of scouting is to get an extra 100 gas after speedling to research overlord speed, then you can scout everything with a couple ovis.
|
in platinum protoss will still cannon rush a lot so it's probably worth it to drone scout in zvp if you feel like doing it. plus if you're a cheesy fuck like me you can use your scouting drone for hatch blocks and goofball stuff like proxy burrowed roaches
but yeah i mean you can drone scout whenever you want if you're in platinum. scouting and thinking about what you're seeing is a good practice. as you learn the game you might find you don't need the scouting information and then you can adjust back to not drone scouting having learned something about the information game. in zvz its not really ever necessary except on 4p maps though. could be justifiable on dasan station too

So, when I play from PCBang and change my hotkey settings it says it gets saved online on my bnet account and I can access that custom profile from everywhere. However when I log on the next time everything is set back again and there's no hotkey profile available?? why's that

Do you log in with your own account when playing on PCBang, or an account they provide for you?
edit: Oh, nvm, I get the problem: PCBangs probably don't let you alter local files (or at the very least resets them), so while you might be changing your hotkeys online, they're not getting downloaded to the computer you're playing on for the game to actually pick up on the next time you log in.

I see. I always thought they get saved online on bnet and that would be enough, but apparently not.
Yeah, everything gets a reset. The only thing which is kinda weird is, that the profile is actually deleted the next time I log in. And it literally says, when creating the profile, that it's available on every machine I log in with the next time.

You should ask the staff about it

Good Afternoon, I'm fairly new to starcraft and trying to work my way through the hard mode achievements atm (your vids have been invaluable).
I'm not sure if anyone can help me but I am really stuck on 'The Drill'. When I select multiple targets for the laser cannon to attack it just sits there half the time doing nothing. Its ok in the beginning selecting individually but by the 5th wave u start to fall behind. This is the biggest problem when you take the bunkers up to the Protoss base like in your vids.
Really sorry for the silly question but its been driving me mad all day.
Thanks in advance.

Vri. Here is a guide to complete it for Brutal, ofcourse hard difficulty will be a bit easier. There is a video and text to guide you trough the mission

Its ok done it - changed my tank and bunker set ups, then left an orbital command in the top corner and just sniped the 50 buildings as they were rebuilt. It was slow but safer for me witht he probs i had with the targeting of the laser.

How the hell do you hold drops in this game?
In every single ladder game I've played vs Terran, I've straight-up lost the game versus a 2 or 4 Medivac drop which I could not have possibly scouted. Seriously, is Blizzard expecting me to be freaking psychic?

What race are you?
To answer the question you asked: No, Blizzard is not expecting you to be psychic. Obviously, you can scout it. If you tell us what race you are we can suggest how that might be.

If you tell us what race you are we can suggest how that might be. It goes for all three races, really. The race where I least have problems is Zerg, because Overlords give me some leniency in scouting drop paths.
The races where I most have problems are Protoss and Terran.
