I call bullshit on that, swedes are really patriotic.
What? Havent you heard that school is preventing people from singing the national anthem cause its racist?
The only time we are allowed to be patriotic is during sports events.
How can a national anthem be racist?
Exactly, it is as dumb as it sounds.
...How come your governmant can survive for so long? Oo Don't people in sweden actually love sweden?
It is not as bad as it sounds, in general people are just too afraid to insult the very big immigrant population here.
Haha, are you serious? First of all, Swedes are absolutely patriotic but it has a time and a place. Putting flags on every building and waving them around whenever like in some countries is pretty retarded.
And second of all, have you been outside sweden? The immigrant population in Sweden is not particularly high, maybe compared to denmark or something but not to Germany or the UK and least of all the US.
I don't know if you have read different numbers somewhere (or just basing your opinion on your on views of these countries), but according to United Nations statistics, sweden have the same percentage of the population consisting of immigrants, as germany have (12,3% of our population are immigrants). United Kingdom only has 8,9 %. The "Least of all US" have a percentage of 12,8.

And then again, this whole thing has just been blown out of proportion. I myself (I come from a foreign background + I'm a muslim) and most people i know that come from foreign backgrounds sang the national anthem in elementary school and I also went to church during the semester endings (Happens slightly before chrismas and summer break, right?). Now I'm from Gothenburg (which is the 2nd biggest city in Sweden) and I've still not met anybody who has a foreign background and did not have to sing the national anthem when he/she was in elementary school. T_T
I didn't have to sing the anthem.. Then again, I am from Malmö ;P

Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso ft Ryan Tedder - Calling (Lose My Mind) for the epic moment where Thorzain is losing his mind on the couch and most other songs you can find in the thread i think, haven't seen everything.

A lot of the music was Swedish house music but there is also some other house in there. So just check out like Swedish House Mafia and ther individual members (Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso), Avicii, Adrian Lux, Dada Life and Rebecca and Fiona. They all sound pretty similair.

The bigger question is why anyone would want to sing the national anthem in schools. o.O
I think it's kind of cool that you guys don't. I had to listen to the national anthem or do the flag salute every school day for 12 years. It was silly. I like America but my feelings fall far short of that sort of patriotic fervor.
The thing about this is that THE ONLY time they sing it in Swedish schools are at the end of the summer semster before the summer holidays. Then some schools with a lot of immigrants stopped doing it because it's racist (the immigrants think).
Did the stream break 65000 persons during the finals? In Dreamhack Winter 2011, they peaked at 94,932 concurrent viewers. Even with the foreign language streams (add a couple of thousands), it seems to me the tournament was less popular.
As a side note, the tournament format was dreadful, three different group stages!? I think i saw like 10 minutes of dreamhack the first day as most games were 100% unconsequential and uninteresting (pros v/s mid-masters nobodies).
It's to bad Polt could fall to Code B this season, after all these foreign events and all the exposure I really like him. Would be a shame if we ddidn't see him in Korea.
One thing I noticed that is unique to Dreamhack is that they have the sick camera angles and panning showing the whole stage and really it presents the atmosphere well.

Grats to Thorzain.
Comparing Dreamhack winter to this Dreamhack Open... right. Of course this event had less viewers, 60k+ viewers without players like MKP,DRG,NesTea,MMA,DeMuslim,HUK,Stephano,Idra,Sheth,Grubby,White-Ra etc etc etc and all the others...... Pretty freaking decent numbers considering there's also this cute MLG event going on. If a lot of those players would have been there they would have broken that 94k number for sure.
