The GSL group-format is predicated on seeding. The only reason Blizzard have had to make it the GSL format is because they've made one of the oldest mistakes of tournament formats: making the drawing of the bracket for the post-group-stage public before groups have been played. Thus, in order to ensure that players won't be loosing on purpose in order to get a more favorable bracket/opponent, Blizzard have had to discard the obvious format for a randomized group - the round robin format. Of course, having pre-determined brackets also only makes sense if the players positions in groups have been determined by seeding, giving a logical order for the group-winners and -losers to meet after the group-stage. They will be carrying seeds. If this is not the case, why wouldn't you randomize the 1st and 2nd placers from each other group against each other (while ensuring that the players who have met in groups cannot meet before finals)? That would also make it possible to use the round-robin format, ensuring that every player in the randomized groups meet every other player. What a clusterfuck, Blizzard.

Socke could beat him if he gets good builds, Illusion may have a small shot but overall I think PartinG might be fucked when he gets out of his groups because he will play one of Creator/Nerchio/Scarlett and all of them or even moonglade who beat MC at MLG might threaten him. I'm very interested to see how TitaN does, he's been practicing customs with LiveZerg, Mana, Sage, Nightend and others nonstop for the past couple of weeks, I think he's really well-prepared, shame that he has such a tough group compared to others.

Certainly, Sen is no slouch, but compared to the rest of the competition, he should be managable. I don't know that much about killer, but Huk should be smooth sailing for the Grubster. Is anybody willing to give me 1:25 odds that IdrA won't make it out of his group?
