The Rangers lost last night but the game vs Chicago was awesome. They very much could have won. It's still really weird after all those years of futiility and then good but not great to finally have a team that's legitimately fucking awesome and really fun to watch too. ive been reading a lot more about people bitching about the lack of pp, the lack of a 100+ pt scorer, the return of dead puck too. Am I the only one who thinks across the league the on ice product is better? Teams going 3 scoring lines instead of 2 + checking + pluggers was the best thing ever. Having a third that's built like the Rangers did last year (Zucc - Brassard- puliot) mean the game is way faster, and you still get tough guys and shit on the 4th. A majority of teams in the league now build their team this way. It's fun

I did not understand that signing at all. There are plenty of new age enforcers who can punch people and not be a complete and total blackhole on the ice every time they step out. Tanner glass would have still been a shit player in the 80s AV's massive boner for glass is really the single only complaint I have about him. Dude's been nothing short of awesome for the Rangers. Most players have been put in a position to succeed because he's good at managing zone starts and what not

The piss poor defense though is now an even more glaring weakness with Eberle, RHN and Yakupov hitting the score sheet regularly. You shouldn't lose as many games as the Oilers are while scoring 3 or more times. The win rate SHOULD be positive in that spot

I really want the oilers to be good just to see those poor kids have some success. Yak's hilarious and a straight up good dude: http://www.edmontonjournal.com/Oilers Yakupov dishes another kind assist/10897174/story.html He apparently does this a lot and it only just came to light recently. That's awesome. I know Yak's recent improvement was because they stuck him back with Roy. They had saddled him with shitty third line linemates the rest of the year right?

so if pk gets dinged for diving again, Therrien gets fined. here's a video of his 2nd (the third hasn't been posted yet but he just got fined) http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/montreal-canadiens-p-k-subban-slapped-with-fine-for-diving/ TBH, he was on one foot and got pushed. I love PK, but he is a diver... but I don't think that was one?? that aside, I love that the league is putting teeth behind anti-diving measures. I fucking wish soccer would do that.
