edit: Harden not shooting well at all, Pau, Tony and Manu all showing up, the whole team hustling and Kawhi in god-mode. Gonna be hard to replicate this one

Super gg Lowry is hurt a lot come playoff time. this year ain't much different from other years. Toronto's defense is worse than last year. Lowry's defense is not as good as last year. Joseph's defense has fallen off a cliff. None of the Toronto bigs provide the level of interior defense Biyombo provided last year. Ibaka and Tucker have been average at best on defense.

teams do nothing but take 3s... just lower the points a team gets by hitting a "3". none of this will ever happen though.

I think driving and 3's are synergistic, so anything that makes the 3-PT shot worse will make it harder to drive. It might be that expanding the court makes the corner 3 less easy, thus both are hurt, on the other hand players might be just as, or nearly as good, and then stretch 4/5s are even further from the basket and rim defense is even more impossible.

I think expanding so corners threes were the same would be a good move. That being said you would probably lose a row or two of seats which I think would be a hard sell with the owners. Also, I'm not sure they want less three's. Steph is the most popular player, people putting up big numbers is exciting. I think the only chance would be if it would make more dunks and high flying plays.

the Indiana//Cleveland games were a lot closer. I think this is more a case of Toronto being worse than last year than it is Cleveland being better.

T.O. at least had a little fight in them today. But with out lowry they are gonna be hard pressed to do much Lebron is too damn good. And that refs let more go in the playoffs allows CLE def to be much better even when there foot speed isn't there.

Lowry is a -35 in this series... he ain't the answer. Cleveland really backed off in the first 2 games and could've put up 135 if they kept going. Toronto's team defense just ain't very good with or without Lowry.. a guy whose defense is steadily declining.

Ujiri was quoted earlier in the year saying "it doesn't make sense to go into the tax if you miss the playoffs or get knocked out in the 1st round." so it'll be interesting to see if Ujiri goes into the tax with this team. However, you project the team's future level of play you pretty much have to plan for Lowry getting hurt. His reckless play leads to a non-stop parade of cuts, bone bruises, strains, and sprains. its funny to see people being critical of LBJ because he "coasts" during the regular season. Lowry never coasts... and he gets hurt all the time because of it. Lowry does put up great #s in the middle of the regular season when everyone is playing in 3rd and 4th gear while Lowry has his foot to floor and the transmission in overdrive.

As for the Raptors defense being worse than last year, the main problem isn't really their defense, it's their offense. Great offense beats a great defense in this modern NBA. And with Derozan 's game not really being suited for the playoffs (his 2pt game becomes too ineffective b/c of more attentive D), and Lowry with his issues, they don't have enough firepower to hang with the top offenses. Them being the worst passing team in the league is no fluke.

Oubre suspended for shoving Olynyk. Derozan and Lowry have once again, been hit-and-miss in this year's playoffs on offense.
