MLG has my 20 bucks and anyone that thinks that 20 dollars USD is outrageous then you are spoiled because what you are getting is worth way the hell more than what you are paying for it. Dumb argument. If there were other fights year round with better competition that were cheaper (or completely free) no one would bother paying PPV. There's no point comparing sc2 to a multi billion dollar industry either.

lol you people saying $20 dollars is too much. It's such a good deal - just how poor are you? you've all been spoiled by free, unsustainable, low standard content, says I

Yeah... This isn't going to work out well. Best of Luck to MLG but you can count me out.

Hmmm.. Spend 20 or Spend 0 and i get pretty much the same content?
Are you part of the 1%?

As with other sports: I'd pay 20$ to see it live but for tv/stream that's not gonna happen.

I am seriously saddened by the level of maturity of some of the people here. I understand your concerns and disappointments, but seriously, calling MLG a scam? what do you expect, MLG to take your money and run?
and seriously, i think some (but not all) people here have been spoiled by free stuff to the point where not free auto-equals bad. i am not saying this as an argument for/against PPV, but rather that some people pirate just because they can and avoid paying for stuff at all costs.

I think this is worth it. The proof I am using is that Blizzcon charged more than this for their stream. They showed minimal games and lots of content but not always game specific (costume shows, gigs, Q & A's). For your 20$ you get uninterupted coverage of the one esport title you suposedly support. Not only this you get all of the games and multi stream support (in HD). The only thing I would not be happy with is if I was a gold member and didn't get the content.
Also if you read the article the majority of the beginning of the tournament is streamed for free so you can try before you buy. Which is really a bold statement of intent.
I will be tuning into this and Assembly and I think all this whining is from a community who is used to having all of the pie and eating it. You want content for the future, you want the best players there, you want HD streams and high end production, huge prize pots and great meaningful games.....for free?!?!?
That people is not a sustainable model in any form of business. Most online games (console or pc) would bite your hand off for this sort of coverage.

someone thinks a little too highly of themselves. GSL is the best tournament by a mile and they charge way less than this.

MLG is a business. Go MLG ill support you!
We pay for nearly everything else in the world, terrible movies, fast food thats bad for you, petrol for our cars, some crazy ppl even pay to watch UFC Why is it unacceptable to pay to watch something that would cost $10,000's to make????
$20 is totally reasonable considering the qualifiers are free and you have to pay for GSL special events. Plus it is going to be a lot of the best players in the world, look at the player list!!!!
EDIT: also half of you go on and on about how much you love the game and want the players to do well. They need money injected in to the game so teams can justify paying them plus prize money, not just you using data funding broadband companies by watching free streams

Thank you for entertaining us with your developed-countries douchery. Everybody can't afford it; I can, you can. People in Mexico, Brazil, Russia etc can't always.
Next time you could spare us your poorly thought patronizing.

Lol at people complaining about 20 bucks. Be glad your hobby isn't $50(MMA events). I, and all the people who have extra income will watch it. Sadly not everyone has extra income to throw down for something like this, and I hope Assembly is enjoyable for those of you who can't afford it. Be glad they are offering anything for free, if anything you'd think they would make the championship be paid for and these arena's free, which would probably be much more of a shame to miss.
Also, MLG arena is basically filled with the best people from GSL while also having foreigners, even though the foreigners will probably get smashed. I think it is VERY comparable to the GSL in value.

What a scam. Ill never pay that much for a 3 day event, I wouldnt even pay a dollar. Should be free i don't understand your mentality at all. totally okay with people being upset that this isn't offered for free, but to call it a 'scam' is ridiculous. MLG is a business. Dreamhack is one too. Yet everything is free for viewers. Th whole " paying is always fine " mentality is not better than " everything should be free ". all i said was calling this a 'scam' was ridiculous. not sure where you got the impression my mentality was 'paying is always fine'.
Perhaps you're not one of these. But there's definitly some who think that. See some post just before. :<

Me too, so I go to barcraft with the UBCSC and 604 Starcraft guys, use the awesome feature that TL has now to find a barcraft close to you and enjoy for a price you might think is fairer

I agree with you, blindly saying that any charge is fine irritates me too. A balanced judgement on what you get for what you spend is perfectly reasonable.

And keep in mind that the 2 event doesnt totally overlap coz of time zones.
