i for one could care less if player x gets invited over player y in a tournament, a good player will always find a way to showcase his skill regardless of what tournament he gets invited to, if its not this tournament it'll be the next one. im actually excited to see some new blood within the competitive scene, makes it much more exciting and im sure everyone is curious to see how well they stake up against high level players
edit: oh yea and my picks are:
GanZi Illusion Stephano < Violet <
Group 2 Sheth Taeja < Thorzain SaSe <
Group 3 Bomber Ostojiy HuK < MC <
Group 4 Ret < LastShadow PartinG Squirtle <
with ret winning it all unless he runs into stephano
We know you love Ret but still... I don't think he can beat MC and Squirtle, probably not Violet or Stephano either. And Huk is like the anti-ret ultimate weapon.

Yes, I think everyone is letting Red Bull invite LS. I don't think anyone is preventing Red Bull from doing so or LS from accepting. But even so, I think we should be allowed to voice our concerns to Red Bull regarding a poor quality invite.

If he does poorly, we have concrete evidence that he's not ready for tournament play, so both sides can shut up (lol like that will happen) and if he does well then we have a really superb underdog story in the making. Red Bull is smart to try and diversify the player pool in terms of perceived skill, popularity, region, etc. It makes it more interesting than the standard invite lineups that often have only a few players from top teams + half koreans or so.
And after all, don't we just want an interesting tournament?
Let's take a look at other NA talents that didn't get invited.. over him.

Your skull must be thicker than your waist line Desrow. None of the players you listed would have made a splash when the announcement was made (except Scarlett), and that was the entire reason Day9 chose LS in the first place. There are "better" players in terms of results on that list, but that is not the reason why LS was invited.
Insulting every single person who disagrees with the choice of last shadow only makes you look like more of an asshole, and less of us agreeing with why he was invited. Starting off every post with a "you are retarded" line isnt exactly going to make anyone change their mind.
There's really no convincing people who are going to believe whatever they want to believe in lieu of the facts of the situation, so I don't see the problem with calling out someone for being thick (saying I called him "retarded" is putting words in my mouth) when they're going on about how much better of an invite other players would be when it's impossible for 12/13 players listed to fill the role Day9 explained LS is filling.

desRow, it is my understanding you know Last Shadow personally.
Can you let us know what his level of play currently is? I have never seen him in a tournament before, what can we expect to see? Macro terran? Cheeser? What is his best matchup?

Yeah lets listen to what desrow has to say when he hates the guy -_- real logical.
I've been waiting months for this. Its a nice chance for Bomber to shine and take out on his lan opponents his frustration over once again not making it back into Code S.

desRow hates Last Shadow? Why?
Do you know the level of Last Shadow's play? Can you tell me what sort of player he is? Or do you hate him too?

I doubt Desrow has talked to him since LS got kicked out of the GOM house.

You can find out about a lot of this stuff using Google. There's a recorded physical confrontation between LS and Desrow, obviously hard feelings there.
LastShadow can either be incredibly cheesy or very macro-oriented, from what I've seen on his stream in the past few months.
well anything I say doesn't really matter lol half the people here are just saying he doesn't deserve the invite and the other half are pretty much saying he's a strong player D:
What i know is that lastshadow can do some cheesy opening but is a really smart guy and excellent with mech in most matchups I really like him so im happy they invited him

I predict him taking a game vs each protoss because he plays weird style no other terran does. Those style on papers are extremely bad but if he can deny scouting and the protosses don't have the right army composition, they will lose aka 2base 1-1-1 with 2port banshee deny scouting if no phoeniexses protoss is screwed or he goes full mech some unorthodox styles like that. he has no chance against ret imho
