I'm sure ironsquid was great for french people watching it live, but for the majority of people watching the laggy restream it wasn't that good.

Not to mention anything happening on stage was spoken in french. The majority of people watching wouldn't understand a word of it. Ironsquid sadly only caters to a small french audience, if they want to keep doing what they do and grow that is going to have to change.

Then Iron Squid restreamed it with their name and they put banners etc. Name of this original stream was something called ironsquidsecret2. There was only 400-500 viewer, 1080p, so it didn't lag at all. + you saw what TB was doing and game lobby chat

Day 1 is nothing but pro's versus randoms and because they refuse to pay stipends we will have another underwhelming player pool. It´s actually one of the refreshing things about these DH tournaments. There´s no behind the scenes negotiations, no demands and no seeds. It is just straight up "we have some prize money, if you want any of it you will have to play your way through 124 other participants". It is also nice because they aren´t trying to plan anything, the brackets will be what they are. I think it is a big reason they always manage to deliver so emotional finals, because of the pure competitive spirit and the feeling of accomplishment when you know you have fought through the whole field to be in the finals. Like a big build-up. Do keep in mind too, that this is in all essence a qualifier for DH winter.

That's not because they refused to pay stipends, it's because they realize that they need to foster to local scene to make sc2 sustainable or else SC2 will just be the same thing CS 1.6. was in Sweden (Huge following but still died out).
