Shouldn't he be like I designate my heir after my demise as....? 1 or 2 chapters ago they said Netero resigned via video before he went to secretly fight the king They're just showing the video now on what he said

He just got real lazy. This started way back at the end of YYH when he used sketches as the final product and ended the series abruptly. It's worse in HxH, all his shit are sketches and you can just tell he doesn't put much effort into his work.

It seems they're going for a faster-paced remix. All that character development and history in the first few episodes of the original was cut. They dropped the scenes with Kaito and Ging's Hunter card, which was a bit weird since both of those become important later on. Ditto for the history behind the fishing pole, the foxbears, and some of the backstory with Mito--basically the entire Whale Island storyline--although I'd agree that most of that was skippable. They've got a nice pacing going though. The whole boat trip was done in the first episode, which was a pretty good introduction to the Hunter Exam arc. The new VAs are pretty close to the originals. No major complaints there. Not sure what I think of the new soundtrack yet. They've apparently gone in the direction of more classical/symphonic sounds and upbeat fanfare in the reboot. The storm theme is very Pirates of the Caribbean. The OP and ED themes didn't really stand out as anything special. All in all, I'd say it's a worthy reboot so far. I still question whether it's a such an improvement over the original as to justify a whole new series. But if it creates more HxH fans, that's a good thing, right?

Really glad to see him not be exceedingly lazy for once. I'm pretty excited for this coming arc, whatever it is!

Didn't see anything about a time skip myself too, maybe it's in the original script and was accidentally missed out in translation?

I had no idea what was going on half the time reading it when releases came out but now it's clear exactly what happened and when. Other thoughts : Also agree with him needing an artist... there's like a 50% chance of his chapters being semi unreadable because of the art. Some of the Chimera Ants stuff was beyond bad, more like a draft than the actual manga. The new HxH anime managed to make me stop watching it in 1 episode. I've watched the old one at least 5 times and read the manga about as many times before so it's not like I'm a random guy that doesn't appreciate it but holy crap is it god awful. It's remarkable how 2 animes made from the same source material can be so different one from another, 1 creating an amazing atmosphere and the other reminding me of the disaster that is the Toriko anime. You know you fucked up when you make HxH bland. I wrote a giant post about it on another website so I won't get into details about why it's bad again but I'm not watching until the Chimera Ants arc at the very least.

Also they didn't drop it he doesn't get informed on the hunter card because he's informed of that from one of the hunter examiners when he shows him the number. I mean I don't think its important for us to KNOW that he has it but I'm sure they're going to tie in Kaito/Ging later on as them being probably the most important plot devices in the manga, well now just ONE since the other is DEAD. That aside I don't want to count out the anime as a failure on the scale of Toriko, I mean Toriko just....you cut someone in half with a knife and there is no blood get the fuck out. Hunter x Hunter has shown a bit of the "toning down" that I saw in One Piece but HOPEFULLY they'll keep some of the brutality that made you understand despite how the MC appears this show is fucking serious and people die.
