That's too much money on the line for someone who hasn't participated in any of the other events to come in and take a shot at it, especially where other players have committed time and effort to those tournaments in order to get a good placement in the tournament.
How so? Its not like he is getting a spot afaik. He has to work through the open brackets like the rest of ppl.
Which should be a light warm-up for him, before he has to use 40% of his power to smash any foreigner.
Just watched an MLGLee interview from wellplayed and they said that MLG Providence was the fastest spectator pass selling event at this point. Can't imagine this news will hurt sales
am i the only one that thinks its bs to have people that didn't compete in the MLG events coming for the championship event? If you weren't in the top 16 of points how are you allowed into the championship tournament?

Yes you're the only one. I want to see the best not noobs that just gathered points from showing up to them all.
Ha, people have been struggling over scraps throughout the year hoping to be well placed for the big money and then the top Code S players come swooping in to run off with the big money.

You say that like its a problem.
If you can't beat every single person who competes in the tournament, then you probably don't deserve the "big money"
To be totally honest I have a feeling we might see a slight upset. I'm not saying something like, "oh Nestea won't make it out of the open bracket" but I feel like MVP and Nestea may not finish 1/2 like everyone expects. At least I hope there is some form of competition for those two.
Top Koreans consist of Bomber, July, MC, MMA, Rain, MarineKing, and a few others. Top Foreigners consist of Idra, Huk............ that's it. Then you have simply the top players period in MVP and Nestea. Koreans are going to dominate. However, the top foreigners can in fact compete with the top koreans. There's only 2 of them though. Everyone else either hasn't proven themselves or hasn't been consistent enough to be considered a top foreigner. At least, that's how I look at it.
Nice. It's great to see them bother with open, I assume they could've asked to be invited by mlg system for pools. Feels like it means more too if they make it from open. Afaik nobody has won, or even made it to finals, from opens on the Korean era, despite lots of koreans trying.
Eventhough I prefer underdogs to win, IM guys are quite ballers to do this from open, so I almost hope them to win. Gogo!
