It also really helps when people do retarded stuff like very similar color ZvZs. From a spectator point of view I really like it because there's not ambiguity in those situations. Sometimes lings vs lings is hard to tell who's up, not now.

I dont think making everything shiny is the way to fix the color i think just having more parts of a unit that represents the player color would be cool. As a random ex: Rather than having all Zealots look the same besides having different color blades they could also have color on a part of their armor. Making the color stand out more without it punching you in the face is what i would like. lol
Its weird, before people were complaining about sc2 being cartoony and not "gritty" enough and now the game is being modded even more so in that direction.
Having said that, im not a fan of the way the colors are atm so i really do thank anyone working on finding a change!
For me it is the same reason that a huge portion of Quake players play with fullbright skins, picmip 10 and simple items.

Wow ! This "pack" looks Awesome ! The Banelings look really cool. But I wonder how does it work on battle.net ? Any complaints from blizzard. Is it safe to use?

Safe to use, been around for aaaages by now and Blizz approves of the general idea.

Ok Thx very much for the quick answer, I will download it.

I think a lot more people would use it when there's no messing around necessary.

Anyone know how to get this mod on a mac?

Pzea is it just me or does the Fungal Growth spell texture last longer than it should when it's on units? It's a bit off it seems. Like the spell texture ends bit later then when the actual spell ends. It makes it a bit more difficult to time chain fungals using just the texture models. Any chance you could try to look into it? I may be wrong but from what I've seen and tested it seems true.

Have you tested it with the normal textures as well? That sounds very unlikely to me. as the textures themselves has nothing to do with when they are displayed and for how long.

Blizzard should put the mod directly into the game via a patch or at least change the colors themselves. I have friends who can't distinguish the colors very easily, especially in ZvZ.

Edit: nevermind I'm freaking retarded, added the patch Zerglings are fixed, nice job dude.

Imo, it's the design of the units/buildings which are 'cartoony'. The colours were never the problem, it was just an easy thing to point the finger at. Things like tanks still look like little toys and many of the models are very very WoW style to me at least. Doesn't matter what colour they are. This idea just makes it nice and completely clear and vibrant for multiplayer.

Does this work for EU SC?

Yes it does, but I'm not sure if the mpq file name is different. So if you can't find the exact file name, look for one that has EU instead of US, or maybe other letters.

to uninstall, just replace your mpq back with your backup.

I tried installing this with the install instructions provided but the team colors didn't work, before the 1.4.2 patch update I had this working well, so I tried to install this again and it's not working . This is the best mod out there! T_T
