But this one journalist did. Gee, I wonder how? As the title says, somebody is lying. Or more like multiple people are lying. This video was taken from a well-documented 2006 interview. I realize it's impossible to read ALL the material linked in this thread, but it was already posted: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/5124762.stm This video proves two things: Kony is blatently lying about war atrocities, and IC are misleading us to believe he is less accessible than he likely truly is. I don't know which side of the argument this supports.

I don't know which side of the argument this supports. Osama Bin Laden also had interviews. It took us 10 years from 9/11 to be able to take him out. http://articles.cnn.com/2002-01-31/us/gen.binladen.interview_1_al-jazeera-qatar-based-network-bin-laden?_s=PM:US The date on this article is 2002. This was after 9/11 when the U.S. made it a top priority to find him. He was interviewed in 2002 and we did not track him down until May 2, 2011. I can't find the source to verify, however i recall the journalists being blindfolded and driven to a rendezvous location in order to conduct the interview. Kony is not necessarily a very accessible man.

I'm constantly amazed at how many people get suckered into forking over their money by bypassing their logic circuits. If that video compelled you to make a difference in the world there are far better organizations to support. I would challenge you to name one organization, company, or individual who does not use emotion to market a idea. Aside from the basic need of humans being food, shelter, air, warmth, and debatably sex, a human needs nothing else in this world. Everything you choose to purchase is based on an emotional need. + Show Spoiler [Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs] +

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/09/kony-2012-video-criticism-uganda_n_1334549.html Basically it says that within people people dislike this campaign because it does not actually explain the history correctly.

I'll find the source when I have time. on topic: I still think this is retarded. The motives is good but the execution and whole planning is dumb. Hell they act like this is a giant RECENT problem and Kony is the kingpin. Some warlords were known to kidnap/recruit children into their army their philosophy being that a bullet from a 10 year old is just as effective from an adult...

It was not in the OP, so I did a google search on "Invisible Children Military". What I came up with was people thinking IC is funding the Ugandan Military. Correct me if I am wrong. Next I googled "Invisible Children funding Ugandan Military". I couldn't find a reliable source to confirm that.

First of all a link to these inside posts is needed for you post what you did. Second of all calling any attempt to stop a man breaking as many human rights laws as Kony is while you have probably done shit fuck all to stop what's happening in any way is outrageous. Even if it is only 35%, this guy is actually doing something to stop evil in the world and bringing people together to do so. This guy should be making money for his efforts because he is making a real change. And at least have a well thought-out paragraph ready before you call a organization that's helping people in the world "alload of junk".

A statistic not backed up by anything is very likely to be wrong. Saying it is an inside source does not increase it's validity.

Except Kony is not even in Uganda and he's not the only warlord. This is just purely a marketing scam.

You're basically saying, who cares if they're taking your money for themselves at least they're doing a little bit! You're not doing anything! That's not how a non profit organization works in my book ( yeah yeah the money goes towards videos blerp derp they take a fair share as 'welldeserved' salary) and there's better organizations to spend your money on. Like doctors without borders. Thereby the 35% that is going somewhere is going to the Ugandian army which isn't the best direction for it to take as many people do think.

At least they're trying to do something instead of sitting infront of a computer bashing the people who actually are doing something. I wish people like you were in the public eye like orb so your career could be crushed for saying stupid shit like "half the people chanting 'kony 2012' doesnt even know where uganda is".
