Why are people arguing over such a minuscule detail that is completely irrelevant to the OP. And what is the purpose of pointing out whether or not he is being "politically correct"?

It wans't sopose to derail into off topicness. I just like the record to be accurate- for osmeone who has 'internet police' as part of his TL account you should understand.
Soon as people accept Idra as the #1 American player over the new female scarlett player, i'll be content.

Idra is #1 in GM NA and top 100 in Krn GMs. Idra has winnings well above her. She might have potiential but you can say that about anyone. For now at least: Idra best American player huk is better... Huk's not american...... Anyways She looks to be a force to be reckoned with in the future if she is playing like this now. got a lot of potential. last time i checked canada was american.....
You checked wrong then. North American =/= American.

My signature is a troll on someone awhile ago that i just never changed. In all seriousness, what is the purpose of wasting time discussing pointless banter? I'm just trying to understand ;/

#1 american is really a toss up. I'd say KawaiiRice at the moment, but Sheth, Idra, and many others certainly make a case. In about 6 months, it will be qxc with no question.

My question is, should we regard to her as a "Female Gamer". I don't know the technicalities but is she legally a female? While she wants to be called "she", that's fine with me but I don't think it's right to label her as a female gamer.

Labels are imperfect. She says she's a girl, so either accept it or don't.

I think you've answered your own question about the effectiveness of labels There is no right or wrong, it's an opinion and I gave mine.

That wasn't my point. The point is that there is no "legality" issue. All of the drama is in the community's collective head. Gender is something that is largely socially-constructed, so if you want to be respectful then you should accept Scarlett as a female.
Labels are for canned soup, not pro-gamers.

i am impressed. she is from southern ontario

Labels are used in everyday situations, do you personally think she should be known as a female gamer?
