Alabama vs Alabama might be the most interesting part of this game.

ND needs to take a look at the academic standards they have vs other top football schools if they want to ever compete with the likes of Bama.

They should call the SEC Championship the "real National Championship" if the real deal is going to be a joke like this.

Edit: You know what i'm done talking about the SEC. After Notre Dame shuts down Bama let's see how good the SEC really is when the final rankings comes out. Let's see how many SEC teams would crack the top 5.
Good gracious.... so much for being the vaunted #1 defense in the land. Lacy and Yeldon both over 100 yards on the ground, and no sack on AJ (remember Western Kentucky had 6). and 32 yards rushing for ND? (that beats LSU's 39 last year )

fuck it man; we all know that the sec east has been shit since tebow graduated and urban left, so let's just fucking hand that crystal football to whoever wins the sec west

To hell with Notre Dame.
Saban can go to hell too, but he has to get in line.
Actually, Gholson looked good and probably has a good future. He just doesn't have many weapons.
On the other side, Alabama's receivers were pretty outstanding. They didn't make all their catches, but with the moves they were making Alabama could've easily had another 14+.

Any of the "good" SEC teams would have had a field day with this Notre Dame team, if they played the same way they did against Alabama.

Florida obviously has problems on offense, but they also have a stupidity problem. They get terrible penalties and they don't get up for games if they don't respect their opponent.

Next year could be more toss up...unless A&M comes out blazing and continues the west dominance in sec. But then again, kids out of high school these days are so beastly and ready for college level, it may not matter for schools like LSU and Bama that they lose a lot of guys. Kind of like at the beginning of 2011, everybody thought LSU will have problem in defense after losing key guys, but it turned out they were better than their 2010's team in spite of all the sophomores.

As much as I enjoy watching ND fail.... the way they looked tonight, we'd also expect them to lose to the likes of Stanford or Oklahoma. Alabama's made quite a few teams look terrible in bowls recently, even SEC teams (see: last year).
Saban's teams have damn good bowl preparation. Last season LSU-Bama was close the first time, not close at all the second. A 3-loss Bama team just annihilated Michigan State the season before in one of the Tide's most lopsided wins of the season.
His Bama teams are 5-1 in bowl games and before that his LSU teams were 3-2. (with a fluky loss to Iowa on a long TD pass as time expired) Credit has to go to the coach - Saban might be the best bowl preparer in the NCAA right now by a wide margin.

I fell asleep before the title game but it looks like i didn't miss anything unexpected. Notre Dame had so many close calls against mediocre teams this year. This was bound to happen.

They looked uninspired and unprepared. The QB looked like he was scared to throw the ball. No running game. The only good thing I can say about ND is the effort of receivers after the catch. They worked their asses off for every yard after the catch.

It certainly didn't help that ND was down by 7, then 14, then 21, then 28 and so on all game; position ND has never been in this season. I think the most ND trailed this season was like 14points.
