(not joking. though post is a joke) Though academy teams shouldnt cost much in the first place. Though you guys did put alot of time into graphics and stuff for this. No one on the team has a trust fund. Our team owner Brandon makes a comfortable living outside of eSports and he has enough room within that to back the team. Our operational budget is nowhere near as high as other teams in the industry which helps keep us at a sustainable operational level. If we suddenly decided to pick up a player like Polt or Squirtle (before he joined LG-IM), we would be stepping way beyond that sustainable level. As for the Academy, it does not cost all that much up front. The big investment is in man hours spent organizing all of this, and going forward with managing the players. Clarity is made up of a team of people which are here doing what we love for the betterment of the industry. Once a player within the Academy reaches a level worthy of promotion and being sent to an invent is where money really becomes involved. Instead of using that money to pick up and contract another big professional player, we have decided to instead use it to incentivize our Academy. That way we can help up and coming players get to the level where they too can earn money playing the game. For the players who don't reach that level while they're with us, they will at least reach a well rounded understanding of what is expected and required of them to become a true professional player. | ||
